Dive deeper into the article to find a special promocode for a discount to cut on all your boosts.

Woo boy! Get ready, because the World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7: Legacy of Arathor has nearly landed, bringing a hefty shake-up to the game! It has a ton of stuff packed in, including new quest lines, updates to Timewalking, a cool new feature called Lorewalking, fresh UI options, and loads more!

Patch 11.1.7 launched on June 17th in the NA region and is set to launch on June 18th in the EU. Good news, this patch isn’t expected to be as heavily time-gated as some previous ones, with most features rolling out on day one right after the scheduled realm restart. There are a couple of different events slated to happen after the initial patch launch, but we’ll get to those shortly. So, let’s dive into it!

The Legacy of Arathor Campaign Questline: Rise of the Red Dawn

The Rise of Red Dawn: Join Faerin in Arathi

Kind of the main star and namesake of this patch is a brand new campaign unfolding, specifically titled Rise of the Red Dawn. This is a two-chapter story set in the Stromgarde vs. Hammerfall territory of Arathi Highlands, featuring the characters Faerin Lothar, Danath Trollbane, and Geya’rah (the Mag’har orc) attempting to navigate a tenuous peace. It serves as a sort of in-game continuation or sequel to the five-part audio series “Heartland.” The campaign begins with a quest from Faerin Lothar at Stonelight Rest in Dornogal (requires level 80). For those who listened to that, this provides an in-game progression of that story, seeing players join Faerin as she travels to meet distant relatives – descendants of the human empire that sailed across the planet to found the new Arathi Empire.

This reunion has been anticipated ever since the Hallowfall Arathi were introduced and adds a good dollop of world-building and gentle plot furthering, touching upon issues related to world history and future directions. External pieces like the Heartlands audio drama and the “Faith and Flame” short story following Fyron’s departure from the Lamplighters helped set the scene and catch players up on local events and character backstories, meaning the quests themselves don’t have to spend time doing it.

Campaign questline awards players with the following:

  • The initial “Rise of the Red Dawn” quest awards faction tabards: Alliance players earn the cool Stromgarde Tabard, and Horde players earn the Hammerfall Tabard.
  • After the “Past Glory” quest, all players receive Faerin’s “Lamplighter’s Pauldrons”, a shoulder transmog item inspired by Faerin’s own shoulders, available for all armor types.
  • Upon completing the campaign achievement (“Rise of the Red Dawn”), Alliance players earn the title “of Stromgarde“, and Horde players the title “of Hammerfall“.

This questline looks like a really cool narrative piece and will be available right on day one of 11.1.7. As far as can be told, the questline should be available in its entirety on launch day. Hold your energy drinks close for this one!

Stepping Through History: Lorewalking – Relive the Tales!

Lorewalking: A Helping Hand for Warcraft Lore

Lorewalking is a new system in Patch 11.1.7, offering a repeatable questing experience for characters level 10 and above. It’s designed to let players relive World of Warcraft’s epic stories, and there’s hope for many new ones. To start, speak to Lorewalker Cho in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, or Dornogal (marked on map).

At launch, three primary storylines focus on the Ethereals (K’aresh), Xal’atath, and Arthas/The Lich King, exploring the path that led to his wrath. An extra storyline for elves is noted but not yet available, anticipated closer to the Midnight pre-patch for World of Warcraft the War Within.

These stories play out like scenarios with curated quests and new bits. Lore mode pauses your regular quest log. Players can leave and return. A neat feature is the ability to pause and ask Cho questions. The Xal’atath storyline includes her release from the blade and new lore. Relevant cinematics are included. The Ethereal questline has another lore reveal.

These experiences are fun and engaging, certainly worth doing! You’ll get leveling gear or Crests/Valor Stones. World of Warcraft storytelling often happens outside the game, but systems like this bring it in.

But the real prize comes from an entire storyline, granting unique toys:

  • For the Ethereals, their story grants the K’aresh Memory Crystal, a toy that transforms the character into a K’areshi Ethereal for 10 minutes with a 30-minute cooldown.
  • Finishing the Xal’atath storyline rewards the Echo of Xal’atath, Blade of the Black Empire, a unique hour-long buff with no cooldown that actually causes Xal’atath to whisper giddily in the player’s ear when they defeat foes, Shadow Priest style – available for everyone!
  • Finally, Arthas storyline yields the Royal Visage Toy, which turns the player into the ghost of Arthas Menethil (“Prince… or King?”) for 5 minutes with a 2-hour cooldown.

Lorewalking offers a fun way to revisit old World of Warcraft stories and gain context. Possibilities for future additions, like a potential Fourth War covering the War of Thorns or Siege of Lordaeron, are exciting. All three initial storylines are available on patch day and are repeatable.

Delving Deeper: Overcharged Delves and the D.I.S.C. Belt!

New Assisted Highlight: Addressing Various Issues

Patch 11.1.7 also brings some pretty major updates to Delves! The first is the introduction of a new type of delve called an “Overcharged Delve.” Once a day, two standard delves (out of six possible in Khaz Algar) will become overcharged, often lining up with the bountiful delve of the day for a neat combo. When a delve is overcharged, it introduces a new affix, typically featuring electric puddles that can stun players – a bit annoying! There are also extra Titan NPCs scattered around. It’s quite noticeable once inside if a delve is overcharged. This provides a higher challenge for players.

A good point about these is that they are not consumed upon completion, allowing players to re-enter (though no specific extra bounties from the end boss for repeat runs were noted). However, only six specific delves are in the overcharged pool: Fungal Folly, Kriegval’s Rest, Nightfall Sanctum, Skittering Breach, The Spiral Weave, and Sidestreet Sluice. Players should look for the lightning effect on the map to spot them. Defeating the new enemy types found here will contribute to progression. These electrified Delves contain extra Titan enemies and traps, and dropping into them repeatedly lets players farm Titan Disc Shards (100 shards = 1 Titan Disc) used to unlock console perks.

Overcharged Delves: A New Enemy Type Implemented

A central feature related to these Delves is a new piece of gear: the Durable Information Securing Container (D.I.S.C.), helpfully nicknamed the Titan Disc Belt. This is the patch’s slowly upgradable player power McGuffin, following in the footsteps of items like the Onyx Amulet or Cervical Signet. Unlocking the base belt is tied to a short quest series from Dagran Thaurissan II in Dornogal that introduces players to Overcharged Delves (“Titanic Rumblings” → “Titan Consoles”). This is a one-per-character epic quest reward (with one version for each armor type). The belt starts at item level 691 and can be upgraded. Initially, the benefits seemed modest, but significant recent changes have massively buffed the belt! It now includes primary stats, stamina, and a prismatic socket, and its maximum item level has been increased to item level 701. Crucially, the unique effects granted by socketing “miniature Titan discs” have been dramatically buffed. This helps players amp up their power!

Aspect Detail
Item Name Durable Information Securing Container (D.I.S.C.)
Starting iLvl 691
Maximum iLvl 701
Upgrade Method Weekly quest (“Overcharged Chests”) requiring Titan Memory Cards
Weeks to Max ~5 weeks (4 weeks of upgrades)
Socket 1 Prismatic Socket
Power Source Miniature Titan Discs (1 active at a time)

Miniature Titan discs are acquired from chests at the end of delves, and different delves drop different ones, similar to how Azerite Essences worked. These discs are found in Delve chest loot even on non-Overcharged runs. Players can target specific delves if they’re hunting a particular mini-disc. Only one of these mini-disc powers can be active at a time, easily swapped using the belt’s UI. These mini-disc powers are modular and mutually exclusive. For example, Charged Bolts zaps a random nearby enemy with Nature damage over time, whereas Cauterizing Bolts does healing zaps – only one can be active at once. Importantly, these mini-disc powers do work outside of delves, making the belt a significant piece of gear.

The D.I.S.C. Belt Bug Fixed: Issues Related to Gearing

Due to the recent buffs, it now looks like this belt is unambiguously expected to be Best-in-Slot for many, if not most, specs, even for high-end content like Mythic raiding. The good news is that the required progression to reach max item level has been significantly reduced from a potential month and a half down to about five weeks, which is much less obnoxious! While the analysis of specific power effectiveness suggests “Charged Bolts” might be an S-tier pick for most, it’s probably still a good idea to collect as many mini-discs as possible, just in case tuning changes later! (Maybe don’t bother with “Static Charge” at the moment based on early analysis).

To upgrade the belt, there’s a weekly quest called “Overcharged Chests” requiring players to defeat NPCs inside the delves, which can thankfully be completed on Tier 1 difficulty. These weekly quests provide Titan Memory Cards used for upgrading the belt. Based on observations, reaching the item level 701 is expected to take about five weeks, requiring four weeks of upgrades due to the weekly gating.

On top of the belt, and also tied to the new Delves, is the Overcharged Titan Console. This new console is found inside them and is unlocked during the Dagran quest line. It offers a talent tree with 10 nodes that grant powers specifically while inside (like increased stats or procs). Unlocking these powers requires collecting Titan disc shards. Shards drop at the same rate regardless of delve difficulty, so farming Tier 1 is efficient for maximizing the tree quickly. The unlocks and progress for this console are account-wide. Progress is tracked via the UI. Progressing the entire tree earns the “Titan Console Overcharged” achievement, which awards the OC91 Chariot – a cool, zappy recolor of a previous Keystone Master mount that might make Season 1 key masters cheer! There’s also another achievement, “Overcharged Delver“, for 4/6 Overcharged Delves, rewarding the Redeployment Module hearthstone toy.

Turbulent Timeways Week: Revisit Past Wrath Eras

A major plus is the account-wide friendliness of this system. Beyond unlocking the base belt on alts with one quick delve run, the following aspects are Warband-wide:

  • Item level upgrades for the D.I.S.C. belt
  • Mini-disc unlocks
  • Overcharged Titan Console talent tree progress
  • Titan disc shards collected to upgrade the console (these are transferable between characters)

Blizzard has expressed a desire for the belt to be a top-tier item for most players, and with the recent buffs, that mission seems accomplished for now. It’s expected to be a strong choice until potentially replaced by well-itemized Heroic or Mythic gear in Patch 11.2. However, for delves themselves, the belt’s specific powers and speed benefits are expected to remain extremely strong, likely making it something players will keep equipped when running delves for the rest of the expansion, even over potentially higher item level gear from future raids. Overall, this iteration of the .7 patch upgradeable power item seems more user-friendly and well-integrated with delves than some predecessors. Whether or not any .7 upgradeable power McGuffins are a good thing is a separate debate where mileage may vary, but this one seems well-executed.

New User Interface Options: The Assisted Highlight and Single-Button Assistant Spark Discussion!

Chrono Corsair Mount: New Reward Implemented in Timewalking

Also arriving in 11.1.7 are some new user interface options that have sparked quite a bit of discussion: the Assisted Highlight and the Single-Button Assistant. These can be enabled under Options → Gameplay Enhancements.

The Assisted Highlight acts like a built-in version of addons that suggest rotation abilities. It highlights your next recommended ability on your bar based on whether you’re hitting a single target or multiple enemies (AoE), intended to guide players unfamiliar with their class or wanting to learn. It does not suggest healing, defensive cooldowns, or buffs. It brings a previously addon-only tool into the base game, acting as a helping hand. This new assisted highlight feature is designed to improve player mastery of complex rotations.

The Single-Button Assistant is a new button found in the spell book. Placing it on your bar and pressing it will automatically execute a character’s suggested damaging spell rotation (ability). It won’t handle healing, tanking, movement, target switching, using major cooldowns, interrupting, crowd control, self-heals, defensives, or inventory items. It’s specifically for the damaging sequence. While this isn’t expected to be the most optimal way to play for peak performance, it’s primarily designed as an accessibility feature, aiming to address various issues related to complex gameplay. Crucially, the official notes specify this feature incurs a small extra global cooldown delay (about 0.3 sec) between abilities as a trade-off for its convenience.

Midsummer Festival: Additional Hotfixes Address Seasonal Issues

This feature has ignited debate. Concerns include a potential “rude awakening” or complacency. Some critics speculate developers might tune combat difficulty around these users, potentially making outdoor content feel less threatening. Trying an attempt at a new rotation can feel daunting, and these tools aim to ease that.

In response, the counter-argument highlights raising the ‘floor’ for players who might otherwise struggle with complex rotations due to various needs or preferences. Ultimately, if players find the button helps them perform better or frees up focus for executing fight mechanics and managing incoming damage, they might eventually choose to practice manual rotations or simply be content. This also helps returning players feel less overwhelmed by significant class revamps.

Learning the correct sequence to cast abilities is a key part of mastery. Some even consider extreme measures like potentially excluding single-button assistant users from groups, contrasting this with the expectation for hardcore players to use specific addons and study complex dungeon routes. Both the Assisted Highlight and Single-Button Assistant are expected to be available on day one of the patch.

Timewalking Adventures Get Bigger!

The Greedy Emissary Encounter: A Challenge in Undermine

Significant updates are also coming to Timewalking in 11.1.7! The first major addition is the introduction of Battle for Azeroth (BFA) Timewalking – finally! While active, BFA reputation gains from combat and quests are increased by 50%. The BFA pool includes six dungeons (Atal’Dazar, Freehold, King’s Rest, Shrine of the Storm, Temple of Sethraliss, and Waycrest Manor) but no raid. All Timewalking dungeons will now drop Adventurer gear (Heroic dungeon equivalent) instead of Explorer gear and award 25 Timewarped Badges (up from 10). They are being made slightly harder to compensate. All your foes (and especially bosses) now have higher health, scaling better with gear, meaning better-geared players will notice damage differences compared to previous Timewalking iterations. A new BFA Timewalking vendor offers recolors, unused items, and two new rides: Reins of the Ivory Savagemane and Reins of the Moonlit Nightsaber, both with unique hop-up animations! You can find this vendor in Boralus and Dazar’alor.

Timewalking Aspect Before Patch 11.1.7 After Patch 11.1.7
Dungeon Loot iLvl Explorer Gear Adventurer Gear
Timewarped Badges per Dungeon 10 25
Enemy Health Standard Higher (especially bosses), better scaling

Turbulent Timeways returns from the week of June 17th as a seven-week cycle, starting and ending with Battle for Azeroth. The rotation is BfA → MoP → TBC → WoD → Legion → Classic → BfA. It awards bonus XP and Heroic raid level loot. A new achievement for gaining the “Master of the Timeways” buff for five weeks awards the Chrono Corsair, a cool pirate time dragon Skyriding! This mount is earned through Timewalking activities throughout the event.

Minor Bits and Big Caveats!

June 17th Patch: Requires Scheduled Realm Restarts

Let’s touch on a few minor but noteworthy additions. A new spell, Recuperate, is added for all races and classes. This is a free spell granted to all classes (no training required) and is now fully implemented. Pressing it out of combat allows your character to “take a breather” and eat, restoring 50% health over 10 seconds after making campfire food, seemingly with no cooldown (though it involves a temporary campfire visual). This universal self-heal should be quite helpful and appears on all characters automatically.

Hunters get the Glyph of the Strix (crafted via Inscription), changing their spotting eagle to an owl. The recipe is from a vendor in Dornagal but is BOP, requiring a work order for Hunters without Inscription.

Also, under UI patch notes, the Cooldown Manager got an update to track certain totems and summons on the totem frame.

A big caveat: Observations on the PTR showed Undercoin becoming transferable between characters again without penalty. This has happened before on test realms only to not go live, so whether Undercoins will actually be transferable and effectively fixed in 11.1.7 remains unconfirmed for the live patch on June 17th. Keep an eye out! This is one of the various issues the community hopes to see addressed. While the guide doesn’t provide a specific list of hotfixes or detail hotfixes that address various specific bugs, we hope to see additional hotfixes that may be applied after the launch.

Time-Limited Fun! Get Ready for Events!

Recuperate Ability: A New Healing Tool Implemented

Let’s wrap up with a couple of exciting time-limited events! The Midsummer Fire Festival (June 21st – July 5th, 2025) is getting updates. There are two new Scythe-themed weapon transmogs available during the festival, as well as new achievements for honoring the flames in the latest zones of Khaz Algar, such as the achievements “Flame Warden of Khaz Algar” (Alliance) and “Flame Keeper of Khaz Algar” (Horde).

Running from the week of July 1st is the return of the Greedy Emissary event! Treasure goblins spawn hourly in major cities and periodically from rares in the Undermine zone (1-hour rare cooldown per rare). The goblins now also spawn with random affixes (buffs) to make them tougher. Defeating them yields valuable loot and currency, including:

  • Old event rewards
  • The new Blood-wrapped Treasure Bag backpack
  • A new Diablo-themed mount
  • Recolored Tier 2 armor sets (in modern HD models), purchased with Hellstone Shards
  • Heller Chests (used to acquire Hellstone Shards, Valor Stones, and junk)
  • Temporary buff items (not for high-end content)
  • Elixirs usable on portals to spawn more goblins (up to 3 per portal)
World of Warcraft: What's New in the Latest World Update?

Each encounter offers a potential challenge. The first 10 Heller Chests per week grant Hellstone Shards, with a low chance for more from additional chests. Hellstone Shards (a new currency, Warbound transferable) are used at a vendor in Dornagal to buy the recolored HD Tier 2 sets (40 shards per piece) – many are darker, less flashy versions of the anniversary sets, plus the bold red Judgment set. I have a guide on the event if you’d be interested!

Also running while the Goblin event is live is the Collector’s Bounty. The calendar description suggests a temporary buff significantly increasing legacy loot drop chances from bosses in legacy dungeons and raids during this time (“foes… loaded down with extra treasure”).

Final Thoughts on the Arathor Update

Warcraft the War Within: Anticipating Future War Content
Promo code: Dina_Blog
Use this discount as my thank you for your attention!

And that’s pretty much it for Patch 11.1.7, Legacy of Arathor! There’s certainly a lot packed into this Arathor update. While the Greedy Emissary/Collector’s Bounty events kick off a little later, most features are day one. It’s good to see systems like Overcharged Delves and the belt progression being less time-gated than some past implementations like the issues related to the Dastardly Duos event with its weekly drip-feed of rewards in a previous patch that “absolutely ruined” the intended design. Credit is due for avoiding that here!

With all this in mind, it’s true that Legacy of Arathor is relatively smaller than some previous .7 patches (no new zone like the Siren Isle, for example). So, many eyes will likely be glued to news sources this week, eagerly anticipating the reveal for Patch 11.2.2 (expected soon!) along with its PTR launch. This next patch, presumably featuring a new zone, dungeon, and rewards refresh, will need to hit test realms fairly quickly if it’s to be ready in time for the expected Midnight reveal at Gamescom in August for World of Warcraft The War Within. And what will 11.2.2 be called? The Rootlands? Ha! Maybe it’ll be K’aresh! You just have to imagine that if Blizzard announces a World of Warcraft livestream this week, enthusiasts will be there ready, perhaps with a bingo card and a strong drink, just in case things don’t go exactly as hoped!

Thanks for checking out this guide! Let us know what you think of the latest World of Warcraft Patch 11.1.7 in the comments below – have Blizzard managed to save the Titan disc belt with these changes, or is 11.1.7 set to be remembered differently?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in Patch 11.1.7: Legacy of Arathor?

Patch 11.1.7, titled “Legacy of Arathor,” is a mid-expansion update bringing a substantial amount of new content and system revisions. The centerpiece is a brand new campaign questline, “Rise of the Red Dawn,” set in the Arathi Highlands. It also introduces the Lorewalking system, allowing players to revisit iconic past storylines. Significant updates have been made to Timewalking, including the long-awaited addition of Battle for Azeroth dungeons. The patch integrates the new Overcharged Delves feature, which ties into obtaining and upgrading the powerful D.I.S.C. belt – this patch’s player power progression item. Furthermore, new accessibility and learning UI options like Assisted Highlight and Single-Button Assistant have been implemented. A new universal ability, Recuperate, is now available for all classes. Finally, the patch sets the stage for exciting, limited-time events like the Greedy Emissary Diablo crossover event and the Collector’s Bounty legacy loot buff, which will begin shortly after the patch launch.

When did Patch 11.1.7 release?

Patch 11.1.7, “Legacy of Arathor,” launched for players in the North America region on June 17th, following the regularly scheduled realm maintenance. For players in the European region, the patch is scheduled to go live on June 18th, also after their respective realm maintenance period concludes. Most of the features included in the patch are available immediately upon launch day.

How do I start the new Legacy of Arathor campaign questline?

The brand new campaign questline, specifically titled “Rise of the Red Dawn,” serves as a narrative continuation of the “Heartland” audio series. This two-chapter story unfolds in the Arathi Highlands, focusing on the region around Stromgarde and Hammerfall. To begin this campaign and delve into the rising threats and interactions between characters like Faerin Lothar, Danath Trollbane, and Geya’rah, players must travel to Stonelight Rest in Dornogal and accept the initial quest from Faerin Lothar. You need to be level 80 to start this campaign.

What are the rewards for completing the Rise of the Red Dawn campaign?

Completing the “Rise of the Red Dawn” campaign provides several desirable rewards. The initial quest grants faction-specific tabards: the Stromgarde Tabard for Alliance players and the Hammerfall Tabard for Horde players. As you progress further and complete the “Past Glory” quest, all players, regardless of faction, will receive the “Lamplighter’s Paulrons” shoulder transmog, which mimics Faerin Lothar’s appearance and is available for all armor types. Upon earning the “Rise of the Red Dawn” achievement for finishing the entire campaign storyline, Alliance players will be awarded the title “of Stromgarde,” while Horde players receive the title “of Hammerfall.”

What is the new Lorewalking system?

Lorewalking is a new, repeatable gameplay system introduced in Patch 11.1.7 designed to offer players level 10 and above a structured way to experience or re-experience significant, epic stories from World of Warcraft’s vast history directly within the game client. These experiences are presented as curated quest chains, often revisiting old zones or dungeons in a scenario-like format, sometimes with new narrative additions. While engaged in Lorewalking, your regular quest log is temporarily paused, indicated by a special map icon (an open book). The system allows you to pause and ask Lorewalker Cho questions for clarification and exit at any time, returning to where you left off. Blizzard sees this as a flexible and engaging method for storytelling and hopes to expand the library of available stories in the future.

Where can I find Lorewalker Cho to start Lorewalking?

To begin your journey through the Lorewalking system and select a historical storyline, you need to seek out Lorewalker Cho. In Patch 11.1.7, his location is conveniently marked on your map. You can find Lorewalker Cho waiting to share tales in three major locations: Stormwind City (for Alliance players), Orgrimmar (for Horde players), or the neutral hub of Dornogal in Khaz Algar.

What stories can I experience with Lorewalking?

Upon the initial launch of Lorewalking in Patch 11.1.7, players can choose from three distinct primary storylines to relive. These cover pivotal moments and figures in Warcraft lore: one focuses on the history and conflict related to the Ethereals (specifically the K’aresh storyline), another is centered around the ancient Old God entity Xal’atath (revisiting her connection to the Shadow Priest artifact and BFA storyline), and the third delves into the tragic tale of Arthas Menethil, the Lich King. Game files also indicate an additional storyline potentially intended for elven races, but this one is not available at launch and is anticipated for a later date, possibly closer to the pre-patch for Warcraft The War Within.

What rewards do I get from Lorewalking?

As you progress through and complete individual quests within a Lorewalking storyline, characters that are within the relevant level range for that content will receive scaling leveling gear from a completion box. Max-level characters undertaking these journeys will instead earn useful currency like Weathered Crests and Valor Stones. The most notable rewards, however, come from completing an entire Lorewalking storyline from start to finish. Each of the initial three storylines awards a unique toy: completing the Ethereal story grants the K’aresh Memory Crystal (a temporary Ethereal transformation), the Xal’atath story rewards the Echo of Xal’atath, Blade of the Black Empire (an hour-long buff causing Xal’atath whispers upon enemy defeat), and the Arthas story yields the Royal Visage (a temporary illusion transforming you into the ghost of Arthas Menethil).

What are Overcharged Delves?

Overcharged Delves are a significant new feature in 11.1.7, presenting a more challenging variant of the standard Delves found in Khaz Algar. Each day, two specific delves (chosen from a pool of six possible locations: Fungal Folly, Kriegval’s Rest, Nightfall Sanctum, Skittering Breach, The Spiral Weave, and Sidestreet Sluice) will become “Overcharged.” This state introduces new mechanics, such as an electric-themed environmental affix (like stunning puddles) and additional powerful Titan-themed enemies. Overcharged Delves are designed to provide a higher difficulty experience and are the primary source of Titan Disc Shards, which are required to progress the Overcharged Titan Console talent tree. Unlike standard Delves, Overcharged ones are not consumed upon completion, allowing players to re-enter them.

What is the new D.I.S.C. belt (Titan Disc Belt)?

The Durable Information Securing Container (D.I.S.C.), colloquially known as the Titan Disc Belt, is the signature player power progression item introduced in Patch 11.1.7, serving a similar role to previous patch upgradeable items like the Onyx Amulet. It is an epic-quality item with versions for each armor type, obtained as a one-per-character quest reward. The belt begins at item level 691 and can be upgraded weekly to a maximum of item level 701. It provides valuable baseline stats (primary stat, stamina) and a prismatic socket. Its unique power comes from Miniature Titan Discs, collectible items that are socketed into the belt interface to grant powerful, swappable effects, with only one Miniature Disc power active at any given time.

How do I get the D.I.S.C. belt in 11.1.7?

Obtaining the Durable Information Securing Container (D.I.S.C.) belt is tied directly to the new Overcharged Delves content. Upon completing your very first Overcharged Delve run in Patch 11.1.7, you will unlock and be guided through a short introductory quest series from Dagran Thaurissan II in Dornogal. This questline, starting with “Titanic Rumblings” and culminating in “Titan Consoles,” serves to introduce you to the system and rewards you with the D.I.S.C. belt appropriate for your character’s armor type.

How do I upgrade the D.I.S.C. belt and how long does it take?

The D.I.S.C. belt is upgraded through a weekly progression system. Dagran Thaurissan II in Dornogal offers a weekly quest called “Overcharged Chests,” which requires players to defeat NPCs within Overcharged Delves. Completing this quest awards Titan Memory Cards, which are used to upgrade the belt’s item level. The belt starts at iLvl 691 and upgrades step-by-step to a maximum of iLvl 701. Due to the weekly nature of the upgrade quest, reaching the maximum item level is time-gated and is expected to take approximately 5 weeks in total from acquiring the belt (requiring four distinct weekly upgrades). A significant quality-of-life feature is that these item level upgrades for the D.I.S.C. belt are Warband-wide.

Is the D.I.S.C. belt Best-in-Slot (BiS)?

Yes, following significant buffs during the PTR phase, the D.I.S.C. belt is now widely considered to be unambiguously expected to be Best-in-Slot for a majority of specs in Patch 11.1.7 content, even for high-end activities like Mythic raiding. Its combination of robust base stats, a prismatic socket, and the flexibility and power of the Miniature Titan Disc effects make it extremely competitive with, or superior to, other gear pieces in its slot. Furthermore, its speed and utility benefits provided by certain Miniature Discs are expected to make it the preferred choice for running Delves specifically, likely remaining equipped for that content throughout the expansion, even potentially over higher item level pieces from future raids.

What other rewards can I get from Overcharged Delves (mount, toy)?

Beyond the D.I.S.C. belt and its associated power progression, engagement with Overcharged Delves and the Overcharged Titan Console system can earn players unique collectible rewards tied to achievements. Progressing and fully unlocking the 10-node talent tree on the Overcharged Titan Console (by collecting Titan Disc Shards) awards the “Titan Console Overcharged” achievement, which grants the OC91 Chariot mount. Additionally, completing four out of the six specific Overcharged Delves unlocks the “Overcharged Delver” achievement, which rewards the Redeployment Module hearthstone toy.

Is Battle for Azeroth (BfA) Timewalking available in Patch 11.1.7?

Yes, a major and long-requested feature implemented in Patch 11.1.7 is the official introduction of Battle for Azeroth content into the Timewalking rotation. This allows players to queue for BfA dungeons while Timewalking is active. As a bonus during BfA Timewalking weeks, players receive a 50% increase to reputation gains from combat and quests within BfA zones and content.

What BfA dungeons are included in Timewalking?

When Battle for Azeroth Timewalking is active in Patch 11.1.7, players will be able to queue for six specific dungeons from that expansion. These dungeons are Atal’Dazar, Freehold, King’s Rest, Shrine of the Storm, Temple of Sethraliss, and Waycrest Manor. It’s worth noting that unlike some previous Timewalking events, there is no BfA raid currently included in the Timewalking cycle for this patch.

How have Timewalking rewards and difficulty changed?

Patch 11.1.7 has made universal updates to Timewalking across all included expansions, not just BfA. The rewards have been improved: Timewalking dungeons now drop loot equivalent to Adventurer item level (Heroic dungeon level), a step up from the previous Explorer gear. The number of Timewarped Badges awarded per dungeon completion has also been significantly increased from 10 to 25. To balance these increased rewards, the difficulty has been slightly adjusted; enemies, particularly bosses, now have notably higher health pools and scale better with player gear, meaning players with better gear will notice a difference in damage scaling compared to how Timewalking felt in previous patches, making it less of a trivial experience.

What are the new UI combat assistance features (Assisted Highlight, Single-Button Assistant)?

Patch 11.1.7 introduces two new optional user interface tools aimed at assisting players with combat rotations, particularly for those new to a class or needing accessibility aids. These features can be found and enabled under the Options → Gameplay Enhancements menu. The Assisted Highlight displays a visual indication on your action bar suggesting the next recommended DPS ability in your rotation, adapting for single-target or AoE situations. It does not provide suggestions for healing, defensive cooldowns, or buffs. The Single-Button Assistant allows players to drag a single button to their action bar which, when pressed, automatically casts the next suggested DPS ability in the correct sequence. While this offers convenience, it does incur a small extra global cooldown delay (about 0.3 seconds) as a trade-off. These features are intended to lower the barrier to entry and raise the ‘floor’ of performance, but are not expected to match the optimal performance achievable by players manually executing rotations.

What limited-time events are happening in 11.1.7 and when do they start?

Patch 11.1.7 includes updates and returns for several limited-time events, though not all start on patch day. The Midsummer Fire Festival runs from June 21st to July 5th, 2025, and has received new weapon transmogs and achievements for honoring flames in Khaz Algar zones. Starting the week of July 1st (and running for approximately a month) is the return of the popular Greedy Emissary Treasure Goblin event, where goblins spawn in various locations with random affixes, dropping unique loot including a new Diablo-themed mount and recolored HD Tier 2 armor sets (purchased with Hellstone Shards from Heller Chests). Running concurrently with the Goblin event is the Collector’s Bounty, a temporary buff significantly increasing the drop chances of legacy loot from bosses in older dungeons and raids.

What new mounts are available to collect in Patch 11.1.7?

Patch 11.1.7 adds several new mounts for collectors to pursue. The OC91 Chariot is a mechanical overcharged mech suit mount earned by fully progressing the Overcharged Titan Console talent tree (via the “Titan Console Overcharged” achievement). The Chrono Corsair is a cool pirate time dragon Skyriding mount awarded through achievements related to the Turbulent Timeways Timewalking event. From the Greedy Emissary event starting in July, players can obtain a new Diablo-themed mount. Additionally, the new BfA Timewalking vendor found in Boralus and Dazar’alor offers two new mounts for purchase with Timewarped Badges: the Reins of the Ivory Savage Mane and the Reins of the Moonlight Nighter, both featuring unique animations.
