To get the Lost Memento in Destiny 2, players originally had to complete the secret Twilight Triumph during the Festival of the Lost event or decode Eerie Engrams at Eva Levante. Applying this memento to any shaped or enhanced weapon grants the exclusive, all-black Twilight Keepsake shader once that weapon reaches level 30<\/strong>. However, Bungie retired seasonal events\u2014including Festival of the Lost\u2014with the launch of Update 9.7.0 and the Monument of Triumph.<\/p>\n

Festival of the Lost status and availability<\/h2>\n

Bungie retired Festival of the Lost alongside The Dawning, Solstice, and Guardian Games when Update 9.7.0 and the Monument of Triumph<\/a> launched on June 9, 2026<\/strong>. The final live Festival of the Lost run took place from October 21 to November 11, 2025.<\/p>\n

While event weapons moved into endlessly purchasable Eerie Weapon Engrams at the Tenet of Bravery vendor<\/a> for 2 Legendary Marks each, mementos and masks have not been transferred to that catch-up kiosk. Outside of live event iterations, seasonal event mementos were previously sold directly by Mara Sov in the HELM.<\/p>\n

How the Lost Memento was unlocked<\/h2>\n

During Festival of the Lost, securing the initial Lost Memento required finishing the hidden Twilight Triumph. This challenge rewarded one guaranteed Lost Memento along with the Spectral Carapace emblem.<\/p>\n

The Triumph presented three secret objectives labeled with question marks, each tied to an event mask:<\/p>\n

  1. Put on the Tower Staff Mask, talk to Eva Levante at the Tower to begin the missing bags task, and subsequently visit Saint-14 inside the Tower Hangar.<\/li>\n
  2. Equip the Cursed Thrall Mask and eliminate 100 combatants using explosive damage, such as grenade launchers.<\/li>\n
  3. Equip the Finalized Ghost Mask and defeat 50 enemies with swords inside Expert Haunted Lost Sectors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Unlocking the necessary mask ornaments required finishing specific Event Card challenges: Hocus Focusing (focusing an Eerie Engram) unlocked the Tower Staff Mask, Heads Will Roll (defeating 100 Headless Ones) awarded the Cursed Thrall Mask, and Candy Corner provided the Finalized Ghost Mask.<\/p>\n

    Farming additional Lost Mementos<\/h2>\n

    Completing the Twilight Triumph unlocked the ability to receive duplicate mementos as random drops. Guardians could acquire additional copies by opening or focusing Eerie Engrams with Eva Levante at the Tower.<\/p>\n

    Engram drop rates for the memento remained very low. Unlike standard ritual mementos that were previously capped at a single copy in inventory, players can hold up to three Lost Mementos<\/strong> at one time.<\/p>\n

    How to use mementos and unlock Twilight Keepsake<\/h2>\n

    Mementos serve as single-use cosmetic consumables slotted into weapon inspect screens. They function exclusively on crafted (shaped) weapons or enhanced weapons, and cannot be socketed into Exotics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Applying a Lost Memento provides three distinct weapon customizations:<\/p>\n

    • An activity kill tracker that logs Headless One eliminations.<\/li>\n
    • A weapon title once leveled to 20.<\/li>\n
    • The pitch-black Twilight Keepsake shader<\/strong> once the weapon reaches level 30.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
