Okay adventurers, buckle up because Patch 11.1.7 is bringing some seriously exciting stuff for all the digital packrats and treasure hunters out there in World of Warcraft<\/a>! While some players live for the thrill of downing a challenging raid boss or pushing keys in Mythic+<\/a> against the clock, a huge<\/em> portion of the WoW community just absolutely adores collecting all the things<\/em>. And with thousands of mounts, transmogs, pets, toys, and unique rewards scattered across Azeroth and beyond, there’s certainly plenty to chase across the land! The upcoming Housing update promising even more drops from older content just proves how big collecting is becoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patch 11.1.7<\/a> looks like it might just be one of the best patches ever<\/em> for collectors, introducing not one, but two major reasons to get excited: the return of a popular event and a brand new buff specifically designed to make grabbing those older items much easier \u2013 a first of its kind! Forget weekly gear buffs or reputation gains; this is a patch purely for those on the transmog and mount grind. It feels like some of this amazing new stuff isn’t getting quite enough buzz, a truly strange winds of silence around it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Greedy Emissary Returns! (From July 1st to August 1st!)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the key events tied to Patch 11.1.7 is the return of the much-anticipated Greedy Emissary event<\/a>! This event is a fun crossover with Diablo IV, celebrating all things loot-filled! And mark your calendars \u2013 this run is confirmed to be from July 1st through August 1st, 2025! That’s a whole month of goblin hunting, which is even longer than the first run back in 2023. It’s a special return, not part of a regularly repeating sanctuary event cycle (like the old Winds of Sanctuary<\/a> buff).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hunting Down Those Treasure Goblins in the Capital Cities and Beyond!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the event, special Goblin portals are expected to spawn every hour on the hour. These spawns happen simultaneously at three fixed spots: one in Stormwind Harbor (around 27,27), one just south of the Orgrimmar gates (around 46,13), and one near Dornogal (a shiny new zone hub in The War Within expansion!). Keep a sharp eye on your map in these capital cities \u2013 approximately 5 minutes before<\/em> each goblin appears, a Demon Portal will spawn and show up as a yellow portal icon. This is your heads-up to gather your fellow adventurers! After that 5-minute pre-spawn warning (no more random half hour spawns like the old event!), the Treasure Goblin<\/a> emerges, marked with a demon\/goblin icon! Your mission? Swarm it, slay it, and grab all the gold and treasures it drops!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A cool addition in this version is that in the Undermine zone (also part of The War Within!), certain rare enemies can actually trigger a Treasure Goblin portal when defeated, up to once per rare per hour. This gives you another bag holding creatures spot to hunt!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beauty of this event is that you can participate repeatedly. There’s no daily limit or minimum level requirement for engaging the goblin or getting loot \u2013 you can kill goblins over and over for chances at drops and currency! Since the event is running for a full month, getting your hands on everything seems highly achievable just by showing up when the goblins spawn (and maybe popping a rare or two in the Undermine!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Greedy Emissary event is packed with a huge assortment of unique rewards, often Diablo-esque themed items. In past events, this included specific Hellstones, toys, banners, cloaks, and helms, and it’s expected that many of these will return, potentially with even more added for this run! Every goblin kill guarantees a loot chest (a Hellcaller Chest<\/a>) and some gold (~20-100g), plus a chance at other goodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this time, there are some brand new, seriously desirable rewards to chase. The following items are notable additions and returns:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking inspiration from the WoW 20th anniversary sets, these are another glorious recolor, this time with a more diabolical, fiery nature. All 13 classes are expected to get a specific Ensemble item, granting an updated classic Tier 2 recolor<\/a>. Based on previews, these sets look incredible, offering players another opportunity to collect these updated classics. Each set costs 40 Hellstone Shard!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

How to Get the Sets:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Acquiring these sets isn’t based purely on luck! This event introduces a special event currency: Hellstone Shards (also seen as Lstone Shards in some observations). These are Warband-transferable, bind-on-account currency, meaning you can obtain them on any character! You earn shards from event activities, notably from the Hellcaller Chests dropped by Treasure Goblins. There’s also a one-time introductory quest “Hellhunters Wanted” that awards 13 shards to get you started!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important Farming Tip:<\/strong> The first ten Hellcaller Chests you loot per character are guaranteed to give you 6 shards each! After those first 10, subsequent chests only have a chance<\/em> for 5 shards. Once you’ve gathered 40 shards per set, head over to the Forgegrounds in Dornogal to find Baranar<\/a> Hellhunter, the event vendor. This is where you purchase the different Ensemble sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crucial Note:<\/strong> The vendor and the ability to loot the chests require Level 80, which is only accessible to players who own The War Within<\/em> expansion. So, if you don’t own the expansion or aren’t level 80 yet, you can kill the goblins, but you won’t be able to open the chests they drop or purchase the sets until you meet those requirements! You can obtain these sets in their new form by collecting shards once eligible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
