Fair warning: its location on your map might look a little different these days. Kenly is listed among the D.C. Outskirts locations (near the Pentco Fairview Power Plant) rather than in the main city. Remember, Kenly runs on a rotation – open for about a week, then taking a couple of weeks off – so if you haven’t explored its… unique campus or still need to finish its objectives, now’s your chance. Why tackle Kenly? Primarily, completing the entire Expedition for the first time (or the first time each time it’s open) will net you the unique Diamondback Exotic rifle! After you’ve earned it once, repeats will yield an exotic cache or component. If you’re after a better roll, you can also try your luck with Exotic caches from the Global Event vendor using your hard-earned stars (more on that later).

Adding to the excitement this week is a sweet Double XP bonus! This isn’t just confined to Kenly; it applies to any activity you jump into across PvE (and beyond). This 2× XP is active for the first 15 Field Proficiency/SHD levels you gain this week, making it perfect for rocketing up those SHD levels, Seasonal ranks, or just generally feeling like an XP vacuum. Think of it as a nice global event bonus on top of your normal gameplay, enhancing all your global event activities and regular playtime.

And joining the party is the return of a highly anticipated Global Event! Get ready for “Reanimated” running July 8–15! If you’re new to Global Events, a quick heads-up: you generally need to choose between the Global Event’s unique modifiers and the current Season’s Global Difficulty Modifiers – you typically can’t run both at the same time (i.e., you disable the Seasonal effects when you activate the GE). Think of it as choosing your flavor of chaos with global and activity modifiers. Compared to other events like the golden bullet global event or shd exposed global event, Reanimated offers a unique playstyle!

Global Event “Reanimated”: Get Ready for Green Goo, Explosions, and No Reanimating!

This fan-favorite event brings glorious, headshot-fueled chaos. The main mechanic is simple and delightfully messy: enemies killed via headshot explode into a cloud of poisonous green corrosive gas, which lingers to melt anything standing in it. As an added global event bonus, headshot kills also prevent those enemies from reanimating (enemies in this event will otherwise get back up for a second round unless finished with a headshot – hence the name “Reanimated”). In practice, a well-placed headshot can turn a whole group of bad guys into goo in seconds, stopping them from getting back up for round two and leaving them a vulnerable enemy.

Why You’ll Be Reanimated for “Reanimated”:

Explosive Chain Reactions: Seriously, landing one headshot and watching a whole group implode from the ensuing gas cloud is incredibly efficient and feels incredibly satisfying. Standard control points, global event missions, and open-world activities can literally evaporate before your corrosive might. The chain reaction of corrosive damage often instantly kill enemies who weren’t paying attention, or leaves remaining enemies with rapidly diminishing health.

Serious XP Potential: Clearing content this fast means you’re racking up kills (and thus XP) at a breakneck pace. Those SHD levels and Seasonal ranks will be flying! Many Agents use Global Events like this to farm Field Proficiency caches and Seasonal experience rapidly, taking advantage of the carnage to speed up progression.

Headshot Builds Rejoice: The Reanimated Global Event absolutely adores headshot-focused builds. A sniper or marksman setup (like a classic Sharpshooter or the new Hotshot gear set) is a perfect fit, maximizing those critical headshots that trigger the gas explosions and deal significant harm. With the right gear, agents deal increased damage to complement the gas effect. Other builds capable of frequent headshot kills (a pistol HeadHunter build, a rifle DPS build, etc.) will also shine and feel incredibly powerful during this event.

Makes Tough Content Easier: Content that normally feels a bit grindy – Heroic missions, Legendary strongholds, even challenging Control Points – becomes much more manageable with Reanimated’s effect. The lingering corrosion damage softens up elites and bosses significantly, even making some traditionally resistant enemies much more manageable. It’s widely considered one of the best weeks for players (new or returning) to push into higher difficulties or grind for gear, as most enemies will struggle against the gas, whose effects can constantly drain their health. In short, Reanimated can make everything feel easier (no wonder it’s popular!).

A Little “Friendly” Fire Warning: One cautionary note – while the gas cloud is your best friend against enemies, it can be a bit too friendly to others. Agents report that the corrosive cloud can harm allied NPCs (like hostages in Public Execution events) and even your skills (drones, turrets, etc.) if they linger in it. So be mindful when using it during activities with friendly targets; you might want to avoid Public Executions this week or be extra careful, as the gas can down hostages really fast. Stick to content where you don’t have to protect anyone, and you’ll be fine.

Global Event Credits, Caches, and the Vendor: Playing the event, complete challenges and global event missions, and simply gaining levels earns you Global Event Credits (a.k.a. Stars) for virtually everything you do – global event activities, bounties, open world activities, etc. Don’t forget to visit the Global Event Vendor in the Base of Operations to spend those Stars on valuable loot! You can trade your global event credits for things like Exotic Global Event Caches (20 GE stars each) and Named Item Caches (8 stars), which are great for hunting missing Exotics or those Dark Zone exclusives without setting foot in the DZ. There are also Legacy Season Caches (for past season gear), crafting material caches (around 3 stars each), and more. Look out for superior ge caches and other only caches available here. Pro-tip: Named Item caches are a particularly efficient buy since they can drop both open-world and DZ-exclusive named gear and you can get two of them for the cost of one Exotic cache. In any case, be sure to spend your stars before the event week ends – they reset afterward! Don’t lose those hard-earned global event bonus stars!

Other Happenings (July 8–15)

Seasonal Manhunt Progress: The current Seasonal Manhunt continues! Tackling the regular scouts gets you all the lore!

Summer 25 Project (Ends July 8!): A limited-time series of projects called Summer 25 has been live, reportedly running from June 24 and ending on July 8. This event presents a new project each day (7 in total) that typically involves capturing specific Control Points in D.C. Completing the entire chain rewards you with a brand new Named SMG: the Slingshot (a Tactical UMP-45 variant) as the final prize. Each daily project also grants other goodies like Named caches, Exotic components, crafting caches, and even cosmetic rewards (the Summer ’25 outfit, patches, and weapon skins) as you go. If you’re gunning for the Slingshot SMG, be sure to finish all seven projects before July 8 when the event concludes!

The Great Kenly College “Farming” Debate (and What It’s Good For):

Kenly College, specifically the Student Union, sometimes gets brought up as an XP or Proficiency farm spot. But what’s the real deal based on player experiences and analysis?

Why You’d Go (Besides the Diamondback): While analysis suggests its solo XP rate might not compete with the standard open world gameplay experience, player experiences highlight a potential benefit for group play, specifically group proficiency farming, particularly when dealing with the brutal onslaught and savage onslaught behavior of enemies in Stage 3.

The Method: Based on some player guides, a method focuses on repeatedly running Stage 3 of the Student Union on Story difficulty. You’d reportedly start on Normal briefly to activate the “Dead Drop” activity modifier (where enemies explode on death, dealing AoE damage) and then switch to Story mode. Story difficulty is key because if you fail Stage 3, you reportedly restart right there, saving time.

The Build: This method often relies on a heavily optimized Oxidizer build, focusing on high Skill Damage, Skill Haste, and Skill Efficiency, using talents like “Perfectly Skilled” and “Perfectly Calculated” and gear like Empress International. Activity modifiers like “Hands On” and “Tech Upgrades” can significantly boost the build, helping you deal significant harm. While a melee attack isn’t typically part of this strategy, the focus is on skill damage against the constant waves of enemy damage.

Group Proficiency: The potential benefit for group play is significant. Players being carried can reportedly equip any 11 items/skills (all three weapons, all six gear pieces, both skills) they need Proficiency for and gain progress just by being present while the Oxidizer player melts enemies. They reportedly don’t even need to get kills – the group members kill and everyone benefits! You can help other group members boost their gear stats.

The Catch: Kenly reportedly provides very few Expertise materials (Recon Data, SHD Calibration, Exotics). Analysis suggests focusing on higher-XP activities elsewhere is often more efficient for overall Expertise progression because more XP means more SHD watch levels, which means more scavenging points for materials.

The Takeaway: Complete Kenly for the guaranteed Diamondback Exotic Rifle! If you have a group specifically focused on maxing out Proficiency on a lot of different items for teammates simultaneously, the Student Union Stage 3 loop might be worth exploring in group play. For solo XP farming and overall Expertise material gain, other activities are likely more efficient.

July 15–22: Conflict XP Unleashed!

Mid-month, the arena calls! From the 15th to the 22nd, Agents who enjoy testing their skills against each other can look forward to a Conflict XP bonus! Dive into the Dark Zone or the dedicated Conflict PvP modes and earn extra experience while battling it out. While this event doesn’t feature a global events-created leaderboard, it’s your chance to climb the Conflict ranks! This extra experience should help level up your Conflict Rank faster, which is perfect if you’re chasing those Conflict reward tiers or unique PvP cosmetic items. Even if you usually skirmish in the Dark Zone, it might be worth hopping into Conflict matchmaking during this window to take advantage of the XP boost (and who knows, maybe you’ll discover you enjoy the competitive mayhem!). Time to squad up, formulate a strategy, and make the most of those double kills and multi-kill sprees!

July 22–29: “Team Cache Up” & Kenly’s Grand Finale

As July cruises toward its end, get ready for a couple more treats lined up. First, it’s reportedly “Team Cache” week from July 22 to 29 – time to cache up with your fellow Agents! While the exact mechanics and rewards can vary, this generally means extra incentives or a bonus drop for tackling content while grouped up with a team (hence the name). In past cycles, similar events have focused on clan or group play. (In the Year 7 schedule, a Clan XP event is listed to start around July 29, so “Team Cache” may be a precursor, encouraging players to squad together right before that!). The exact mechanics may vary, but the message is clear: grab some friends or clanmates and jump in together – it’ll pay off more than usual! Don’t forget that playing in a group can also make Legendary missions or difficult content easier, so this is a great excuse to tackle those as a team and reap bonus rewards on top.

It’s also your absolute final week to access Kenly College (for this rotation) from July 22–29. After the 29th, the Expedition will close again for an undetermined period, so this is the last call to finish any remaining investigations or to grab the Diamondback if you still haven’t. If you want to give that Stage 3 farming method a go with your group (or just explore Kenly’s eerie library, metro, and student union one more time), now’s the moment – before it vanishes like a grad student on summer break. By the end of this week, Kenly’s doors will shut, likely not to reopen until a later date (the current schedule had three one-week windows for Kenly: late June, mid-July, and this final late July slot).

Other Cool Bits Happening in July

Outside the game itself, there are a couple of community events and freebies to be aware of this month:

Photo Mode Contest (Ends July 15): Feeling creative?
