Page updates
October 22, 2026
Blizzard's message described a small snag during the restart and said the team was working right then. The restart followed the October 21 stress test, which took the beta offline and deleted stress-test characters and names at shutdown.

Players in the same thread posted minutes later that the beta was online. Treat the update as an active fix rather than a countdown; the staff post said work was happening at that moment.

To check WoW Forever beta server status, open In Development → WoW: Forever Beta Discussion on the official forums and look for a maintenance topic covering your login attempt, then read the latest Blizzard staff replies.

A player's disconnect report can show a pattern, but it does not confirm a service-wide outage or a reopening time. Blizzard's general technical guidance also points to service notices in the Battle.net app and in-game announcements before troubleshooting.

WoW Forever has no named realms; you choose a ruleset. As of September 30, the realm-status menu from Blizzard showed World of Warcraft and its Classic editions, while WoW Forever was absent. The beta was also missing from the weekly maintenance table that day, and restart news went through the forum.

If you cannot install or launch, open Your Game Accounts in your Battle.net account and confirm a World of Warcraft: Forever beta license. An opt-in is a request to participate; selected testers get access, and eligible Forever digital bundles include beta access.

Bundle access can take up to 30 minutes and may need a launcher restart. A Midnight license or client does not establish access to this beta.

For an overview of the game's services, visit the WoW Forever hub.

Buy WoW Forever Boosts

Skip the grind and enjoy the adventure!

Buy now

Close Battle.net Desktop App completely, reopen it, let it update, then launch the Forever Beta client. If the launcher still stalls, check for a newer staff reply in the beta forum before reinstalling.

Players in the staff thread reported the beta online minutes later, so a quick retry was working for some testers.

The beta ends on October 23 at 10:00 AM Pacific, which is 19:00 CEST. Plan any remaining testing before that cutoff; the October 21 stress test was separate, and its characters and names were deleted when it shut down.

Use what you see to choose the next check:

A failed login alone does not prove every tester is disconnected. Use Common Technical Issues and Solutions, choosing the installation or connection section that matches the failure. When asking for help, include the error message, selected client and region.

If every channel looks clear, treat it as a connection issue: Blizzard's guide covers router, drivers, DNS, firewall and proxies, and technical support forums can help.

Buy WoW Forever Level Boost!

Reach Level 60 and unlock the endgame faster!

Buy now

For progression and available content, see the WoW Forever beta level cap guide. If you want help progressing once you can log in, WoW Forever leveling services are available. For a new interruption, return to the latest dated maintenance notice before changing your setup.

What the October 22 update means
