Testing runs through October 21, the last full day before final launch preparations. Blizzard's devs have since used a video podcast to unpack week-one feedback, from campfire socializing to leveling pace and layering bugs.

What opened in the beta's first week

Week 1 of the test included the Skyborne race and Zephras Isle, the Hall of Thanes dungeon for levels 13–18, the Ruins of Lordaeron dungeon for levels 15–20, and all zone content up to level 20. Additional zones, dungeons and the new battleground open for testing as the beta continues. At a later point in the test, the servers open for several hours so anyone can access the beta during a "Server Slam" window.

What the level cap does

The cap started at 20 when the test began and rises to 30 later in the beta. If you are planning a character around the beta, that second cap is the ceiling you will be testing against before launch.

What Blizzard is still weighing

The devs said they are looking closer at Druid forms, which read as too high-fidelity for a classic Azeroth. They acknowledged the layering bugs that have been prevalent. On leveling, their analytics put the 1–20 pace as slightly slower in Forever than in Era. They also talked about plans to reel back some of the blue-letter gear rewards from quests.

What is already committed

Blizzard's four core pillars are approachable and familiar, the world as the main character, the journey before the destination, and protecting the social experiences that make Azeroth feel alive. That philosophy shows up as no flying mounts and no level scaling. Official gamepad support is part of the player-choice options, alongside opt-in Transmog, modern and Classic visual presets, and HD and SD character-model options. Camping lets you craft campfires in the outdoor world so other adventurers can stop by, contribute through professions, and share campsite buffs. Legacy progression supports players who love leveling and running alts.

Beta conduct and feedback

Blizzard is removing players who make inappropriate character names from the beta under its code of conduct. Players are also being asked to fill out a survey about the game on the Battle.net launcher, and links to the survey and its content are not to be shared.

What comes after the beta

World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST. New raids unlock on December 9, followed by more raids, dungeons, PvP updates, world content, additional quests throughout the level 1–60 journey, Hardcore, a revamped iconic raid, and major updates. Hardcore will not be there at launch, and new Legacy challenges come with each content update. The roadmap does not give exact dates for Hardcore or the seasonal updates, and Blizzard says content and timing may change.

If you would rather hand off the early climb, a WoW Forever Leveling Boost covers the leveling work for you.
