Handing in 25 library books at level 30 completes Greater Friend of the Library, which offers a choice of Truthseeker's Bow, Crest of Elucidation or Researcher's Night Light. Only Truthseeker's Bow can be equipped at level 30, because the shield and the off-hand require level 40. The bow has no level requirement and is the best ranged weapon available at level 30.

What you get for 25 books

The 25-book quest requires level 30 to accept and lets you pick one of three rewards. The shield and off-hand are gated behind level 40, so a level 30 character can only use the bow.

Each book has its own quest, so you can hand them in as you find them rather than carrying all 25 at once. The 25 books are 25 different books in total, with the 20 for the ring counting toward the total — five more after the ring. The librarian only offers the quest if you are already carrying a book.

Where to hand in books

Take each book to your faction librarian: Garion Wendell in the Mage Tower of Stormwind City, or Owen Thadd in the Magic Quarter of Undercity. The questline is open to all classes, not just mages.
