Both changes target Warriors and Druids, and the damage-taken fixes mean a typical Warrior or Druid should now gain more Rage when hit. What the fix does not do is restore the Rage scaling lost from weapon damage, and Arms Warriors still describe the spec as the most Rage-starved of the three.

What changed on October 1

The October 1 beta build increased the additional Rage generated from landing critical strikes to 100% increased Rage, up from 75%. It also fixed a bug that was causing Dual Wield Specialization to grant its Hit Chance increase to both weapons.

Fury received a wide talent pass in the same build:

Booming Voice: now a 10/20/30/40/50% increase to the area of effect of your Shouts and a 5/10/15/20/25% reduction to their Rage costs.

Unbridled Wrath: no longer grants twice as much Rage to two-handed weapons.

Lingering Rage: a new Row 2 talent that increases the time before your Rage begins to decay when leaving combat by 2/4/6/8/10 seconds.

Furious Precision: a new Row 3 talent increasing your chance to hit with off-hand attacks by 4/7/10%.

Raging Blows: now reduces the Rage cost of Cleave and Whirlwind by 3, and no longer causes Whirlwind to strike with your offhand — Whirlwind always strikes with both weapons without a talent point.

Death Wish: now required to reach the Flurry talent, replacing Enrage in that role.

Gore Drinker: a new Row 6 talent requiring Enrage, causing your next 3 melee attacks to restore 0.5/1% of your maximum Health after Enrage, Berserker Rage, Bloodrage, Death Wish or Bloodthirst.

Bloodthirst: Attack Power ratio increased to 45%, up from 35%.

Removed: Improved Cleave and Boundless Rage.

Protection's tree was reshuffled so non-shield users have a clearer path to the middle of the tree, where the spec can serve as a PvP tech secondary specialization. Iron Will and Improved Bloodrage moved to Row 1, Anticipation and Improved Revenge to Row 2, Improved Disarm to Row 3, and Improved Shield Bash to Row 4; Toughness was removed.

What changed on October 8

The October 8 build fixed several bugs in the calculation of Rage gained from taking damage:

Rage was incorrectly calculated from the player's health instead of an expected creature's health, which meant more Stamina gear gave you less Rage.

Increased damage taken from combat multipliers, particularly critical strikes and crushing blows, was not handled correctly.

Damage absorbs were not handled correctly; absorbs are now properly ignored when calculating Rage received from attacks, as if no absorb were active.

Rage gains were also rebalanced around appropriate armor values per level in the 20% to 40% range, varying by level, instead of the previous assumption that Warriors had 50% Armor — a figure appropriate for a tank but not for a questing Warrior.

The same build made Deep Wounds once again a required talent to reach Impale, and fixed Demoralizing Shout generating no threat so it now puts threat on all affected targets. Druids received the same crit Rage increase to 100% increased Rage, up from 75%.

What still feels bad for Arms

Arms is more starved for Rage than any other Warrior spec, and it is by far the most kiteable melee. Once an Arms Warrior is kited there is little they can do, and stance dancing to intercept is overly expensive given how bad Rage already is. If combat is initiated by someone else, you cannot Charge and can be kited from the start without gaining Rage from the Charge.

Community suggestions for the spec include removing Slam and Improved Slam from the game and tree, replacing Improved Slam with a Juggernaut-style talent that makes Charge usable in combat with a 5-second cooldown increase, and replacing Spearing Strike with a Second Wind talent that generates 15 Rage and heals 6% of health over 10 seconds when struck by a Stun or Immobilize. The same thread asks for Bloodthrill to give Deep Wounds ticks a 20% chance to trigger Overpower, and for Rend and Deep Wounds bleed ticks to provide a small amount of Rage, with extra on a crit. Deep Wounds damage is described as so low at level 30 — a dot ticking for 7–10 damage — that it is only worth taking 2/3 to reach the next talent line.

What the fix did not restore

Rage is no longer generated based on the damage each auto-attack deals; instead a predetermined amount is generated per attack, using the formulas One-Handed: Weapon Speed × 3.46, and Two-Handed: Weapon Speed × 4.50. A level-1 gray weapon therefore generates the same Rage per swing as a level-60 epic weapon of the same speed.

Weapon speed and attack speed are different: only the weapon's base attack speed feeds the per-swing formula, while attack speed such as Flurry increases how often you attack after the formula is applied, generating more Rage over time. Hit chance and expertise do not directly increase Rage per attack either — they prevent misses, dodges and parries, each of which wastes a swing and generates zero Rage.

The new Fury and Protection talents add Rage generation but do not restore the Rage scaling lost from weapon damage scaling and double Rage on critical strikes. Whether the current Rage values and compensating talents remain unchanged by the November 4 launch is still an open question.

See also: Whirlwind Axe in WoW Forever: Still Worth the Grind?

WoW Forever Rage fix raised crit Rage to 100% and repaired damage-taken Rage bugs, but Arms Warriors still report Rage issues.

[1460,3,81
1509

127
post-41994","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-wow-forever","category-all","category-epiccarry-game-news","tag-wow-forever-rage-fix","author-dina

The damage-taken bugs are fixed and crit Rage is back to 100% increased, but Arms is still described as the most Rage-starved spec.

Do absorbs still block Rage from taking damage?

No. Damage absorbs are now properly ignored when calculating Rage received from attacks, as if no absorb were active.

Does more Stamina gear still reduce my Rage?

No. That bug, where the Rage calculation used the player's health instead of an expected creature's health, is fixed.

WoW Forever Rage fix raised crit Rage to 100% and repaired damage-taken Rage bugs, but Arms Warriors still report Rage issues.
"url2x":"https://epiccarry.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Dina-avatar.webp"},"0":null,"1":"","2":"","3":"","4":"","5":"","6":"","7":"","8":"
["GET
