Two builds from October 2026 creator videos are also worth testing: a Prismatic build around Dead Messenger and a stasis build around Mask of Fieldy. For PvP, the Hunter guidance centres on subclasses and exotics rather than a ranked build list.

Top ranked PvE Hunter builds

Blueberries' ranking, updated for Renegades in January 2026, starts with these builds:

Gift of the Tempest (Arc, Endgame)

The Transcendent Tank (Prismatic, Grandmasters)

One-Two Grapple (Prismatic, Endgame)

Stealthed Gyrfalcon (Void, Endgame)

Jolting Resolve (Prismatic, Endgame or Grandmasters)

The list runs to ten builds, with Gunpowder Guru, Radiant Assassin, Temporal Teleporter, Grasp of Duskfield and Threaded Maelstrom completing it.

Gift of the Tempest

Gift of the Tempest stacks Combination Blow with Tempest Strike, then keeps you alive with Amplified and Gifted Conviction resistance. The build uses Tempest Strike and Ascension as its aspects and Gifted Conviction as its mandatory chest piece, which comes from Master Rahool and requires The Final Shape. Blueberries lists Melee, then Class, then Health, Super and Weapons as the stat order.

Gifted Conviction. Image: light.gg.

The Transcendent Tank

This build pairs Relativism with Spirit of Inmost Light and Spirit of Cyrtarachne, using Stylish Executioner and Ascension as aspects. Its goal is to keep damage resistance high through Transcendence. Blueberries says that with Facet of Protection and the base Transcendence buff you reach 32% damage resistance, and that the build is close to unkillable in Grandmaster Nightfalls. Its stat order is Grenade, Melee, Class, then Health or Super.

Prismatic Dead Messenger build

Plunderthabooty's October 14, 2026 video builds a Prismatic Hunter around the void version of Dead Messenger. The loop is to toss a snare bomb into a group, grapple over and punch to apply unravel, rise up to jolt foes, then shoot Dead Messenger while switching back and forth between snare bomb and Ascension. You need Gambler's Dodge, Ascension, a grapple grenade, Facet of Dawn, Spirit of Faux Tracer, the Tablet of Ruin artifact and Spirit of the Wormhusk.

Dead Messenger: the creator says the void version comes from an exotic mission in the portal list and is pretty easy to complete.

Weapon stat: over 100 gives 15% extra special weapon damage, and 200 gives another 15%.

Super: Shadowshot Deadfall can be used, yet the creator prefers Tether for more demanding content.

Overload champions: the Jolt debuff from Ascension handles them, so a primary weapon is not strictly needed.

Spirit of the Wormhusk: according to the creator, it performs well only when paired with the Prismatic subclass and the exotic class item.

The creator calls the build very strong and recommends it for harder content.

Stasis build with Mask of Fieldy

Kodiak's October 4, 2026 video builds a stasis Hunter on Revan around the Mask of Fieldy exotic helmet. Withering Blade is the centre of the build, and Gambler's Dodge refills melee energy for it. The creator says any weapon loadout works because survivability and regen come from the armor, subclass and artifact. The creator used it to solo the week's Grandmaster Vanguard Alert, and does not cover PvP.

Aspects: Winter Shroud gives a 300% class ability regen boost after applying slow, and 50% damage resistance for 4 seconds after a dodge. Grim Harvest gives a Frost Armor stack per stasis shard.

Fragments: Whisper of Rhyme raises Frost Armor to 50% damage resistance at seven stacks. Whisper of Torment returns about 12% grenade energy from damage taken with Frost Armor active.

Artifact: Apothecary Satchel, with Curative Orbs for health from stasis shard pickups and Weakening Clear for 15% weakening.

Some armor sets add optional bonuses to this build. The creator names Athelon's Memory from the Vault of Glass, Yearning Echo from Grasp of Avarice, and Nezarec's Sin or Root of Nightmares, and says the build works without their bonuses. A Devour effect from Root of Nightmares does nothing against single targets, the creator adds.

Players who want a PvE build without this much setup can start from the ranked list above. The Meta Hunter Build boost covers the subclass setup, gear and weapons for you.

Some players feel these builds depend on an exotic class item that is hard to get, and worry about farming it or finding a substitute when they lack it.

Buy Destiny 2 PvE Boosting

Leave the grind to us!

Buy now!

Stat priorities and mods

For the Prismatic Dead Messenger build, the creator prioritizes Weapon stat above 100, ideally 200, and keeps Class and Melee close to 100. For the stasis build, the creator says to prioritize Weapon stat for boss DPS and keep Melee and Class around 100, reaching 92 Melee with font mods. Health, Grenade and Super are not needed for PvE, the creator says.

Blueberries' Gift of the Tempest uses two Heavy Handed and a Melee Font on the arms, and Resistance mods on the chest matched to enemies. Its helmet takes Special Ammo Finder, Hands-On and Harmonic Siphon if you use an Arc weapon.

Armor sets and player views

Other players debate which armor set works best in hunter builds, and feel some sets, like Seraph, perform better than expected for survivability.

I have 2 versions of this build, one using the nessus armor and one using the cosmodrome armor.

— one player

The stasis creator's Athelon's Memory bonus is the easier choice, while Yearning Echo gives up to about 25% damage resistance and is stronger but less convenient.

PvP builds and subclasses

Blueberries says Dodge is the strongest ability in your Hunter kit, so maximizing Mobility for a short Dodge cooldown and maximum Recovery is standard. Gambler's Dodge refunds your melee when you dodge near an enemy, so Strength can be ignored. The author runs 100 Mobility, Recovery and Discipline.

The subclass pros and cons, without a rank order, are:

Gunslinger: many melee options and strong teamplay with On Your Mark and Acrobat's Dodge, but only two truly viable aspects.

Arcstrider: built-in damage resistance and blink, with an excellent super, but no game-changing qualities compared with the other subclasses.

Nightstalker: still powerful, with Invisibility and Smoke Bombs, though the kit relies heavily on Invisibility.

Revenant: high utility, but a poor super with a long cast time.

Strand: super-high mobility and a high skill ceiling, with long cooldowns and a poor super.

The PvP exotics Blueberries recommends need little or no prerequisite:

Stompees (St0mp-EE5): it remains among the most fun Hunter exotics in PvP, although nerfs lowered how viable it is.

Wormhusk Crown: restores roughly a third of your health whenever you dodge.

Frostees (Fr0st-EE5): raise ability uptime, with a 100% ability recharge boost while sprinting.

Subclass-specific exotics include Cyrtarachne's Facade for Threadrunners, Mask of Bakris and Young Ahamkara's Spine. Blueberries says Cyrtarachne's Facade gives Woven Mail when you grapple, and Mask of Bakris replaces your Stasis dodge with an extended shift.

Solo and subclass-specific builds

Radiant Assassin is the solo pick in Blueberries' list, with Assassin's Cowl and Yeartide Apex as mandatory gear. The build chains Knife Trick kills to keep invisibility up, and Healing Grenade fills gaps. Stealthed Gyrfalcon is the void build in the ranking, with Gyrfalcon's Hauberk and a Void weapon.

Getting the best from a PvE or PvP build still depends on the job you're doing. Start with the ranked PvE list or the creator builds, then adjust the exotic and stats to your content.

For PvE, Blueberries ranks Gift of the Tempest first and The Transcendent Tank second among Hunter builds.

[6,3
1826,1827,1824,1825
97,124
127
post-44446","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-d2","category-all","tag-best-hunter-build-destiny-2","tag-destiny-2-best-hunter-builds","tag-destiny-2-hunter-build","tag-hunter-build-destiny-2","author-dina
For PvE, Blueberries ranks Gift of the Tempest first and The Transcendent Tank second among Hunter builds.
"url2x":"https://epiccarry.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Dina-avatar.webp"},"0":null,"1":"","2":"","3":"","4":"","5":"","6":"","7":"","8":"
["GET
