Enter the dungeon

To begin your quest for the Drake of the North Wind, you must first enter the Vortex Pinnacle dungeon. The entrance to this dungeon can be found in the skies of Uldum. Once inside, you must fight through the various trash mobs and bosses to reach Altairus.

Defeat Altairus

Altairus is the second boss of the Vortex Pinnacle dungeon. He is a storm dragon on Nimbus Rise, the second of the three platforms in the dungeon. Defeat him on either Normal or Heroic difficulty to have a chance at obtaining the mount.

Pray for luck

If you’re lucky enough to have the mount drop, check your loot carefully to ensure you don’t miss it. It will appear as an item in your inventory, which you can then learn and add to your mount collection. The Drake of the North Wind has a low drop rate, so you may need to defeat Altairus multiple times before it drops. Keep trying and pray for good luck!
