Best Ways to Gear Up Fast in WoW BfA

Best Ways to Gear Up Fast in WoW BfA

One of the most interesting aspects of World of Warcraft is the gear. Namely, your character’s performance and value are directly connected to the gear. And, that’s why you need only the best gear for your class in order to maximize your potential.

Now, in Battle for Azeroth, things are a bit changed. This means that there’s a whole new gearing strategy you should consider because finding the highest possible level item is definitely less likely to happen.

Fortunately, we are here to show you our guide on how to gear up fast in BFA. Anyhow, let’s begin.

Short Intro about Gear in BFA

Since the start of the seasons 4, there’s a high chance that most of the gear that you collected at the endgame quests will become corrupted. What does this even mean? Well, for starters, corrupted gear is not suitable to change levels and advance with you.

More ever, corrupted gear can cause some ‘’malfunctions’’ of your character in the form of reduced healing and other negative effects. That’s why you should always consider changing corrupted gear and equipping a new set.

Also, don’t be fooled if your items from earlier WoW seasons are not corrupted, they are not that useful in the long run. Meaning, they will only level up to a maximum of 455 item level which is not what we want here – We want 470 + level.

With that being said, let’s continue towards the whole process of equipping fast in WoW BFA.

Gearing Up in WoW BfA – Fastest Way

With the new patch 8.3 that came January 14th, many players found themselves in trouble when it comes to gear. And, let me tell you something, gearing up in WoW BFA is easy at all.

Let’s break it down to some of the best ways, and fastest, to gear up in this patch, shall we?

Here’s what you should consider:

Now, let’s dive deep into each and every one of these ways to gear up in WoW BFA.

Weekly Assaults – A Good Option

One of the easiest ways to get gear in seasons 4 is to do as many assaults as you can. There are 3 assaults per week in WoW BFA. All of these assaults are very fun to do and they don’t require much effort, however, they can be tricky from time to time.

Here they are:

  1. Black Empire Assault – This one will persist during the whole week, so you can do it whenever it suits you.
  2. Assault at the beginning of the week –As you could suspect, one assault will be available at the start of the week, so make sure to do this one first. You never know when it expires.
  3. Assault at the end of the week – As soon as the assault from the start of the week expires, this one comes available.

In conclusion, there is one Weekly Assault, one at the start of the week and one at the end of the week.

Now, when you do all three of them, you will collect three boxes that have a high chance of containing good loot. This loot can scale up to an amazingly 445 item level and can be quite good for your character.

This will ensure you with great upgrades and possibly the best gear you can find in BFA. However, there might be a chance to get corrupted gear as well. In that case, you can either use it or sell it.

Anyhow, this is a perfect way to start your gearing up process as it offers you easy gear with lots of good drops. These assaults also help your gear reputation, and the best thing is that they are going to stay relevant for a long time.

Horrific Visions – Great Source of Gear

Another great way to gear up fast in WoW BFA is to do Horrific Visions. This is a quite convenient system for gearing up since it can provide you with level items of 470, which is what we’re aiming for. But, don’t think you’ll get it easy.

This way of gearing up is definitely the most popular since you can do it on your own and it provides massive gear upgrades.

However, getting gear from Horrific Visions is hard, and a bit confusing, so, we’ll break it down into pieces.  You can get 8 rewards in total from Horrific Visions and you can only get each item level reward once. Also, you will need to complete all sorts of requirements for each item level and most certainly need to kill the main objective.

Here how it works:

  1. Completing Boss Only – Reward is 420
  2. Completing Boss + 2 Bonus Objectives – Reward is 430
  3. Accomplishing Full Clear – Reward is 445

Now, you need to start adding masks in order to increase the difficulty and the rewards will be better. Here’s the deal.

  1. Accomplishing Full Clear with 1 Mask – Reward is 450
  2. Accomplishing Full Clear with 2 Mask – Reward is 455
  3. Accomplishing Full Clear with 3 Mask – Reward is 460
  4. Accomplishing Full Clear with 4 Mask – Reward is 465
  5. Accomplishing Full Clear with 5 Mask – Reward is 470

There, we can see that doing Horrific Visions really pays off, but it requires a lot of effort and time, especially to get item level 470.

Anyhow, for each week, there’s one Major Horrific Vision, and two Minor Horrific Visions. So, be prepared to do them.

Dungeons – Good Old Grinding

Doing dungeons is not only a great way to level up under some circumstances, but also, it’s a good way to gear up in WoW BFA. Namely, there are plenty of dungeons you can visit, and some of them are really great when it comes to item level drops.

With a standard set of 10 BFA dungeons, in patch 8.2, blizzard introduced a totally new one for you to try out – The Operation Mechagon. This is Mythic-only dungeon that consists of a total of 8 bosses which are very difficult to handle.

But, rewards can be really valuable and worth the trouble.

Anyhow, with a normal set of 10 dungeons:

All of these dungeons can provide you with good item drops depending on the place. So, you can get item levels from 400 to 470, which is really great considering the fact that you’ll be doing these dungeons on your quest path.

Most importantly, Operation Mechagon is a key target here. Now, with a patch 8.3, this dungeon is divided into two smaller dungeons. You can choose to do them from Heroic to Mythic difficulties.

Each difficulty is harder, obviously, and, it ensures better item level drop, all the way up to 470.

Operation Mechagon – Gear level and Equipment

First of all, this dungeon has 8 bosses and that’s why it’s called megadungeon. You can play this dungeon only in Mythic difficulty. Anyhow, here’s what you can get out of this dungeon.

  1. Gear

There’s plenty of stuff that this dungeon offers, and among many there are:

  1. Mounts

Coming with two special and rare mounts, Operation Machagon offers:

These mounts are both fun and beneficial to have.

  1. Pets

When it comes to pets, you can get these two in this dungeon:

Also, there are 4 Battle Pats that you can find:

  1. Alloyed Alleyrat
  2. Clanking Scrapsorter
  3. Copper Hopper
  4. H4ND-EE

They are all good and worth the trouble.

  1. Azerite Armor

The good thing about this dungeon is that it offers one Azerite Armor for each slot. This armor is usually around item level 415, but can be upgraded up to 430. Here are two traits you can find only in this dungeon:

Also, you can find some really valuable cloth, leather, plate, mail, and other stuff.

  1. Special Effect Gear

Now, this gear really is something special as it can ensure that your weapon or any other item can provide special effects in fights.

Here are some:

All in all, this dungeon really offers something great when it comes to item level gear. Be sure to check it out.

The Legendary Cloak

In case you don’t want to leave your corrupted gear behind you, we strongly recommend using Legendary Cloak. This is a piece of gear that you get in patch 8.3 and it offers a lot of Corruption Resistance.

This means that you can equip Corrupted gear nearly without any side effects. Also, Legendary Cloak offers you a lot of Sanity Protection which is more than helpful when it comes to doing Horrific Visions.

However, keep in mind that this cloak is suitable only up to 14 upgrades. In this time, it provides bonuses and allows you to max out item level gear.

Also, there’s one thing you should also keep in mind about Legendary Cloak. Namely, since it’s designed for players at level 120, other cloaks like epic cloak will not drop when you do Ny’alotha Raid or in PvP caches.

Crafting – Take things into your own hands

As we all know, crafting is a good way to equip your character with some high-end gear in WoW BFA. To begin with, you should try out some crafting reagents since they will provide you with some seriously good crafting.

However, wearing crafted gear requires you to train a profession and therefore, it’s only suitable for some players. But, keep in mind that crafted gear will ensure you with some really great sockets and other benefits.

Anyhow, here’s where you can find some crafted gear and wear it.

Also, one more thing is quite important to mention and that’s the Scrapper in Boralus. It enables you to intentionally destroy gear in order to gain more BFA Crafting Reagents. Therefore, you can use these reagents in case you lack a gathering profession.

PvP – Rise above all

One of the most important parts of World of Warcraft game is Player vs Player battle. Not only that you can learn a lot in these battles, but you can also find some great gear, but in a bit more complicated way. Anyhow, let’s check it out.

First, you will need to engage in PvP battles in the form of Arenas, Battlegrounds, and even World Quests. Next, once you complete that successfully, you will be granted some Conquest Points, weekly Cache, and some fancy Azerite Gear as well.

Basically, depending on the tier level you find yourself at, you will get different rewards. So, here’s the deal:

  1. Unranked Tier – You will get the weekly caches and weekly azurite item levels of 445.
  2. Combatant Tier – In this tier, you will be rewarded with 455 weekly cache and 460 azerite gear.
  3. Challenger Tier – Challenger offers both 460 item level weekly cache and azerite
  4. Rival Tier – This one gets you 467 item level gear from the weekly cache and 475 azerite.
  5. Duelist Tier – Duelist is hard but offers a weekly cache of 470 and azerite of 475.
  6. Elite Tier – Lastly, Elite Tier is the most beneficial one and it allows you to get both 475 item levels from a weekly cache and weekly azerite.

Another great thing about PvP is that you can get other types of rewards in the form of gear. Simply speaking, you can do Call to Arms quests and earn Quartermaster’s Note. Next, this item is suitable to be turned into a Warlord’s Trophy.

And, a Warlord’s Trophy offers you an ability to upgrade your PvP reward which is actually a higher level gear. Keep that on your mind.

However, you will need to complete 40 Call to Arms quests in order to achieve 40 Quartermaster’s Notes and only then turn it into a Warlord’s Trophy.

So, all in all, doing PvP pays off in terms of gear level items. Make sure to do it every week and you’ll equip your character in no time.

Conclusion

Equipping your character in World of Warcraft BfA is, by the looks of everything, not that complicated. It requires a lot of time and patience, but the reward is certain. Make sure to follow our guide and you’ll be equipped in no time.

Also, you can choose to do only some of these guidelines in order to equip faster. However, we recommend doing all of them since they are connected and offer a really good picture of how to gear up fast in BFA.
