Wendigo GL3 is a Legendary Arc Heavy Grenade Launcher with an Adaptive Frame (120 RPM). It originally debuted as a Vanguard Pinnacle and now exists as a Nightfall weapon, including an Adept version for Grandmaster clears. With Spike Grenades, strong damage perks, and three selectable origin traits, it remains one of the more versatile heavy grenade launchers for both PvE and heavy-round PvP.
Farm Nightfalls during weeks when Wendigo GL3 is the featured Nightfall weapon—only one Nightfall weapon drops each week. After your first drop, you can use Vanguard focusing / legacy focusing at Zavala (when available in the current system) to target Wendigo GL3 more directly by spending Vanguard engrams and other ritual currency.
For heavy rounds and objective modes, Wendigo GL3 absolutely holds up. Heavy grenade launchers are still one-shot kill tools with strong area denial, and Wendigo’s perk pool supports both instant impact and follow-up value. With perks like Impulse Amplifier for faster projectile speed and a range-focused second-column perk, it can cleanly secure heavy ammo engagements and control choke points. You’re still limited by how often heavy spawns in Crucible, but when you do pick it up, Wendigo GL3 “gets the job done” as a reliable heavy GL.
Yes. Wendigo GL3 is generally treated as a solid PvE DPS option—not always meta-defining versus top rocket launchers, but very capable for boss phases, Champions, and burst damage windows. The typical PvE god roll Quick Launch + Spike Grenades + Auto-Loading Holster + Explosive Light delivers high damage while letting you swap away during reloads and consume Orbs for extra explosions. Many tier lists still place Wendigo GL3 among the better heavy grenade launchers for PvE.
No. Wendigo GL3 and its Adept version are drop- and focus-only weapons; there is no Deepsight pattern or crafting path. If you want a specific roll, Nightfall farming and Vanguard focusing are the only routes.
