What is the new city? What is happening in Gilneas? What are the major class changes? What is the Outland cap? Or, gosh, what is going on in this Warcraft? It’s a tornado of renovations… Also, we have articles for both:
And we move forward.
Release date of new adventures in dragon isles
Patch 10.2.5 release date, Seeds of Renewal, drops on January 16. This update’s a big deal in Blizzard’s 2024 plan. It’s bringing dragonriding to old-world continents (super cool!) and a new story about taking back Gilneas. Expect lots of action and lore!
The new event
WoW’s 10.2.5 Azerothian Archives public event is a bit like playing fetch for NPCs, but with a historic twist. You’re not exactly Indiana Jones, more like his assistant running around doing odd jobs – from shifting crates to hat-tossing. The event’s a quick one, popping up every 5 minutes and lasts about 9 minutes.
Feature | Description |

Main Goal | Fill up an event bar with pages to earn tomes. For a customization achievements. |

You’re basically grinding for pages to fill up this event bar. Once it’s full, you get tomes which you can trade for some neat stuff like transmog items and battle pets. It’s a bit of a repetitive grind, but as you level up from Junior to higher ranks, you’re supposed to unlock cooler tasks.
At the end of each round, there’s a dragon boss. Defeating it drops more goodies and some rep points. The catch? You need loads of rep to level up, and the tasks can feel a bit samey.
The hope is, as you rank up in dragonflight patch 10.2.5, the event will evolve into something more archaeology-like. If not, it might lose its charm pretty fast. But for now, you start as a rookie, hoping it turns into an epic adventure as you go.
For the loot hunters, there’s Mysterious Fragments to collect. You can trade these with the vendor for some cool transmog gear, a mount, and even send them to your alts. The event also ties in with achievements, giving you extra goals to chase after.
The new currency
Let’s break down the new Mysterious Fragments currency in WoW 10.2.5. But first things goes first.
If you want to learn more about traitor’s rest for normal difficulty with same rewards for a cometics in old wold content, you’re welcome to scroll this article up, and search there for a guide with a mysterious fragments. Here’s just a laconic break down of it:
- What They Are: Special currency in the Azerothian Archives event. Think of them as shiny tokens you get from doing event tasks.
- How to Get ‘Em: Do tasks, defeat event dragons, interact with tomes, complete weekly quests, and climb the rep ranks.
- What to Buy: Trade these fragments for cool stuff like transmog gear, mounts, or send them to your alts.
- Farming Method: No secret routes here; just grind through weekly and daily quests efficiently.
- Other Uses: Besides cosmetics, not much. They’re not for combat gear, just for adding flair to your character.

Reclaiming Gilneas
So, Gilneas is getting a facelift in WoW! They’ve added new NPCs to the city on the PTR, hinting at the upcoming Reclaiming Gilneas questline. The place is buzzing with activity, though it’s still a bit under construction.
You’ll find Gilnean Workers everywhere, fixing up the city. Most other citizens are still nameless, just hanging around as Unknown. Kids are running about, adding life to the streets. And get this, Stablemaster Фенеган Кобблер now sports a cool Worgen form!
The marketplace is lively too, with folks shopping or grabbing drinks. Inside some buildings, there are interesting NPCs who look like they’ve got stories to tell, but chatting with them isn’t an option yet. Fingers crossed, that’ll change in the next update!

Fyral’ath changes
Boosts Fyr’alath the Dreamrender, a legendary axe, by upping its Rage of Fyr’alath stack cap from 5 to 50. This means a potential +500% damage, a big jump from the previous +50%.
- Real-World Impact: While it sounds huge, it’s not a game-changer for most scenarios since you rarely face more than 10 targets. But, it’s a neat buff for situations with lots of short-lived adds, like in the Tindral Sageswift encounter.
- Tindral Tactics: Now, marking lots of adds (Fiery Vines/Scorched Treant) and blasting them with Fyr’alath the Dreamrender can do more damage. Especially useful on Mythic difficulty.
- Still Some Issues: Despite this buff, Fyr’alath the Dreamrender struggles in single-target and for AoE-scaling specs. Its biggest downside? The Rage of Fyr’alath the Dreamrender channel isn’t affected by haste, making it less efficient, especially under haste-increasing effects like Heroism.

This hotfix makes Fyr’alath better in specific AoE situations but doesn’t solve its underlying problems in single target and haste-scaling.
Dynamical ground mount riding
Oh man, this new mount in WoW 10.2.5 is a real hoot! Picture this: it’s like the dragonriding we got in Dragonflight, but for tearing up the ground instead of the skies. So, it’s this DIY project you’ve pieced together, right? We’re talking smoky, sparky, and loud – the kind of mount that turns heads in Mechagon and makes you proud, even if it’s a bit rough around the edges. It’s a reward from the Drive It Away Today quest, and let me tell you, it’s a blast to ride!
Mount Name | Commentary |
Fiery Hearthsteed | A blazing steed that lights up the sky, for those who want to ride in fiery style. |
Heartseeker Mana Ray | A flying mana ray to spread love (or fear) in the Air. Perfect for a high-flying romantic. |
Reins of the Fur-endship Fox | A fox as a mount? Yes, please! Fluffy and friendly, it’s a dream come true for fox fans. |
Reins of the Twilight Sky Prowler | Soar through twilight skies with this mystical and elegant mount. |
Reins of the Soaring Sky Fox | Another fox mount, because you can never have too many. Sky’s the limit! |
Compass Rose | Navigate the world of Azeroth with this unique, compass-themed mount. |
Noble Flying Carpet | A classic magical carpet, upgraded for the noble adventurer. |
Reins of the Majestic Azure Peafowl | As majestic as it sounds, this peafowl is a regal way to travel. |

Reins of the Starry Twilight Peafowl | For those who like a bit of starlight with their elegance. |
Explorer’s Stonehide Packbeast | The trusty, sturdy companion for every explorer out there. |

Random tier sets and battle pets
They’re remixing gear sets for each class and spec, based on player votes. You get to pick your favorite class looks and set bonuses from the first three seasons. For example, demon hunters might end up with a combo of Season 1’s aesthetics and Season 2 or 3’s set bonuses for their specializations, Havoc and Vengeance. Each class and spec has its own poll, so your votes directly influence the endgame gear for Season 4. Just a heads-up, though: they’ll adjust the power level of these set bonuses to fit the new season’s gear power scale. So, whatever you pick, it’ll be balanced to keep up with Season 4’s standards. Cool way to involve the community in the game’s development!
- Dragonflight Season 4 Plan: Remix gear sets for each class/spec.
- Player Participation: Vote on your favorite class look and spec set bonuses from Seasons 1-3.
- Example: Demon hunters can choose Season 1’s look with Season 2/3 bonuses for Havoc/Vengeance.
- Voting: Open for every class and spec.
- Outcome: Winning combinations will be featured in Season 4 endgame.
- Balance Note: Set bonuses will be power-adjusted to match Season 4 gear levels.
Conclusion
First off, this patch is like the perfect epilogue to our current quests, setting the stage for the next big thing. Think of it as planting the WoW seeds for the future. There’s a bunch of cool new stuff – like the worldwide dragonriding competition (totally awesome), and a deeper dive into the Emerald Dream.
For those who love a good dungeon crawl, normal Dragonflight dungeons got a revamp, making them more thrilling. And warlocks, you’re in for a treat! Your demons, especially the darkglare and tyrant, are getting some serious upgrades, making them even more badass.
