While Teamfight Tactics shares many similarities with League of Legends, its ranked system also includes several important differences. Below, we’ve outlined all the essential information you need to better understand and navigate the ranked experience in TFT.
The ranking system in Teamfight Tactics is identical to that of League of Legends.
There are 10 ranks in total, which are listed below:
Ranks from Iron to Diamond are each divided into 4 divisions that you must progress through during your climb. The Master, Grandmaster, and Challenger ranks represent the top-tier players in TFT and have their own special ranking systems and criteria for promotion.
With Epiccarry, you can quickly and effortlessly reach the Master rank.
Rank promotion and demotion in Teamfight Tactics work similarly to League of Legends, but with a few key differences.
If you place 1st to 4th, you earn League Points (LP) and your rank may increase. If you place 5th to 8th, you lose LP. However, you cannot be demoted to a lower rank tier (e.g., from Gold to Silver) unless you’re in Grandmaster or Challenger.
TFT also features a Decay system, but it’s much less punishing than in League of Legends.
You lose LP for inactivity only if you are ranked Master or higher, and even then, you cannot drop below Master due to decay.
The queue system in Teamfight Tactics is simpler than in League of Legends.
You can play in a group of up to 3 players, regardless of the rank difference – as long as everyone is below Diamond.
Once a player reaches Master rank or higher, only solo queue is allowed.
According to the official Teamfight Tactics website, the majority of players are placed in the Silver rank, accounting for over 40% of the entire player base. With Epiccarry, you can quickly climb the ladder and rank higher than most players.
In TFT, no players currently hold the Challenger rank. The Grandmaster rank is also extremely rare – only 0.00035% of players have managed to achieve it.
