Fontaine is split into several exploration areas, each with its own chest routes, puzzle types, underwater sections, and quest-locked locations. Choosing a specific region is useful when only one part of Fontaine is unfinished.

Fontaine chest farming requires more than running across the map with a compass. Many rewards are hidden behind mechanics, vertical routes, underwater puzzles, and quest triggers.
Fontaine is one of the major nations of Teyvat and the Hydro region of Genshin Impact. It features the Court of Fontaine, underwater exploration, Pneuma and Ousia mechanics, mechanical enemies, Hydro-themed puzzles, regional quests, and many chest routes across both surface and underwater areas.
To find all Fontaine chests, players need to explore every surface area, underwater zone, cave, ruin, rooftop, puzzle location, time trial, Seelie route, and quest-locked area. Using the Treasure Compass, interactive maps, and region-by-region routes helps, but some chests still require hidden puzzle steps, quest progress, underwater mechanics, enemy triggers, or objectives that the compass may not fully reveal.
Fontaine chests can give Primogems, Mora, Adventure EXP, Hydro Sigils, weapons, artifacts, enhancement materials, character materials, and other exploration rewards. Higher-rarity chests usually provide better rewards, while some quest or puzzle chests can also unlock useful progression items.
Available Fontaine chest farming regions include Belleau, Beryl, Court of Fontaine, Fontaine Research Institute, Liffey, Morte, Erinnyes Forest, Nostoi Region, and Sea of Bygone Eras where included in the selected scope. You can choose a specific region or select all Fontaine chests for broader exploration cleanup.
Many Fontaine chests are underwater or connected to underwater mechanics. These can require diving routes, Xenochromatic creature abilities, underwater combat, current navigation, puzzle objects, and hidden cave entrances.
