Added Chaos Damage Support normally competes for one of your six socket slots, taking up room another support gem could have used. This piece removes that trade entirely, applying the equivalent of a Level 29 version of that support to everything socketed in the robe, freeing a full slot for whatever the build needs most.

A dedicated support-gem effect built directly into a chest slot is the kind of thing most players only read about in build guides before finding out how scarce it really is. Tell our manager which version suits your setup, and this PoE The Covenant Boosting order shows up in your account well ahead of whatever a fresh Chaos-build attempt would take to gear from scratch.
It depends heavily on how much Life the rest of the build carries and how often skills get used in a row. Characters built around a large Life pool and steady Life regeneration handle the drain comfortably, while a build with a thin Life total can find casting several skills back to back a real risk.
Socketed gems stop drawing from Mana entirely and pull purely from Life, so Mana regeneration and reservation stop mattering for anything placed in this robe specifically. Skills outside the robe’s sockets still work off Mana as normal, so the swap only affects what’s plugged into this piece.
Chaos-focused casters see the clearest benefit, since the built-in Added Chaos Damage Support scales exactly the damage type those builds already lean on. A high Life or Energy Shield pool also matters more here than usual, given the extra Life cost tied to every cast landing on top of normal combat damage.
