VRs are the primary in-game currency in The Finals. You use VRs to permanently unlock weapons, gadgets, and class specialisations across the Light, Medium, and Heavy builds.
You earn VRs by playing matches. The amount depends largely on match duration and mode rather than purely on winning. For example, longer matches and tournament modes tend to yield more VRs.
There is a storage cap (e.g., ~5,000 VRs), which means you cannot accumulate unlimited VRs without spending them. Once you hit the cap, unlocks or spending become necessary to continue farming.
Specialisations are unlocked via VRs just like weapons. You’ll need to farm or acquire sufficient VRs, then spend them in the equipment/shop menu to unlock each specialisation for your chosen build. At that point, you can use the full potential of that class.
You need VRs to access new weapons, gadgets, upgrades, and specialisations that change how you play each match. Without sufficient VRs, you remain limited to basic equipment, which can hinder competitive or high-level play.
Many players report that VR earnings are slow for new players because more advanced modes or longer matches yield significantly more VRs, making catch-up harder.
