The Perfect Back and Forth talent on the Interchange makes every weapon swap produce a 10-second DPS window rather than simply switching between tools. Paired with the Trader AR, both weapons stay in an active buff state throughout a full swap rotation — the Interchange buffs on the swap to it, and the Trader buffs on the swap back, creating a loop that eliminates unbuffed downtime entirely in sustained engagements.

Perfect Back and Forth triggers on every weapon swap involving the Interchange — swapping to it and swapping away from it both activate the buff independently. Each activation grants increased Weapon Damage and Rate of Fire for 10 seconds on the weapon currently in hand. In a sustained engagement where you’re cycling between the Interchange and another weapon, the buff refreshes every swap and remains active on whichever weapon you’re firing at any given moment. The mechanic rewards deliberate rotation rather than holding a single weapon to empty.
The Trader AR is the natural pairing — both weapons carry Perfect Back and Forth, which means every swap between them triggers the talent on both sides of the rotation. Swapping from the Interchange to the Trader buffs the Trader, and swapping back buffs the Interchange. Running both together keeps elevated Weapon Damage and Rate of Fire active on both weapons simultaneously throughout extended engagements, which is the highest sustained DPS output available from the Back and Forth mechanic in the current named weapon pool.
The Interchange performs in both contexts, but the swap-loop rotation it’s built around is easier to execute consistently in PvE where encounter pacing allows deliberate weapon cycling. In Conflict PvP, active engagements can interrupt the swap timing — though the 10-second buff window is long enough that even a single triggered swap provides meaningful benefit during the fight. For agents running swap-focused builds in both modes, the Interchange is the stronger choice. For agents focused exclusively on Conflict with no interest in weapon cycling, a dedicated PvP SMG may produce more reliable results.
