The Faster Than Reloading talent changes how weapon cycling works in practice. Eliminating reload downtime on both weapon slots simultaneously — while granting +50% Weapon Damage for the full magazine following the swap — means the Whiplash effectively turns every sidearm swap into a damage amplification window rather than a defensive rotation. For builds that already cycle between weapons regularly, it adds a layer of DPS output that no standard sidearm can replicate.

Buy Division 2 Whiplash Boost and get the sidearm that turns weapon cycling into a DPS mechanic — without farming the Climax Mission on Master until the drop decides to land.
Faster Than Reloading activates after the Whiplash has been in your secondary slot for 5 seconds — at that point it’s primed and swapping to it triggers the talent. The swap itself instantly reloads both your Primary and Secondary weapons, and the Whiplash then fires with +20% Rate of Fire and +50% Weapon Damage for the full magazine before the buff expires. In a standard rotation, you empty your primary weapon, swap to Whiplash — triggering the reload on the primary and the damage buff — fire the Whiplash magazine, then swap back to a fully loaded primary. The net result is zero reload downtime and a consistent +50% Weapon Damage window every cycle.
The Whiplash is gated behind the season’s hardest endgame content as its exclusive drop source — Master difficulty Climax Mission clears are the only way to obtain it. This is intentional design: exotic sidearms tied to sustained DPS rotations are treated as high-value rewards that require completing the season’s most demanding content to access. If you don’t currently have Master difficulty access, our Manhunt Boost completes the Scout objectives required to unlock it, and our Seasonal Climax Mission Boost can cover a first-time Challenging or Heroic clear before Master becomes available.
The Faster Than Reloading talent performs across all content types that involve sustained weapon cycling — endgame missions, raids, Countdown, and open-world farming all benefit from the reload elimination and damage buff. In Conflict PvP, the 5-second holster requirement before priming is the main constraint — active PvP engagements don’t always allow clean rotation windows, making the Whiplash less reliable there than in PvE. For PvE builds that already manage two weapon types in their rotation, the Whiplash is one of the strongest sidearm options available in the current season’s loot pool.
