Whelgar’s Excavation Site is the older, open-world dig camp players have leveled past in the Wetlands for years; the new instanced run sits above and below that same camp under its own name. Our booster clears the instanced version, the one tied to WoW Forever’s current bosses and quests.

Does running this dungeon affect my Archaeology skill or progress?

 

No, Excavation Site is combat content, separate from the Archaeology profession and its own outdoor dig sites. Clearing it won’t move your Archaeology skill up or down either way.

Is Excavation Site an instanced run, or shared open-world content?

 

Excavation Site runs as its own instance, the same as every other WoW Forever dungeon, so your group has the place to yourselves. No other players or groups show up mid-run to slow things down.
