Every farming session generates secondary value across every active progression track simultaneously. Countdown runs drop Exotic Components and high-end gear. Open-world activities feed SHD XP and Season Pass progress. The Capacitor itself unlocks a skill-damage playstyle that outperforms standard AR alternatives for any agent already running a high Skill Tier build.

Buy Division 2 Capacitor Boost and get the AR that makes skill-damage builds fully functional — without farming Exotic Caches until the drop pool decides to cooperate.
The Capacitor drops from open-world activities, Countdown mode, and Exotic Caches — the same broader pool as St. Elmo’s Engine and other non-raid exotics. Random farming from this pool without optimization can take significant time since the drop table includes every exotic in the game. Our boosters target the activities with the highest exotic drop frequency in the current season to minimize time between farming start and confirmed delivery. It’s worth targeting specifically if you’re running any build with two or more active skills, since the weapon’s talent makes it the strongest AR option in that category.
The Capacitor’s talent scales weapon damage based on the number of active skills currently deployed. The more skills running simultaneously, the higher the damage bonus on each shot. This makes it the natural pairing for Skill Tier builds that already prioritize high uptime on two active skills — drone and turret combinations, in particular, keep both slots active long enough to maintain the bonus consistently. It underperforms in pure weapon-damage builds that don’t invest in Skill Tier, making it specifically valuable rather than universally applicable.
In PvE, The Capacitor performs strongly in any content where skill uptime is sustainable — which covers most endgame missions, Countdown, and open-world farming. In Conflict PvP, skill uptime is harder to maintain against players who actively counter skill deployments, which reduces the talent’s effectiveness compared to dedicated PvP AR options. If you’re building primarily for Conflict, the Assault Rifle Build add-on on the Conflict Leveling page may be a better starting point than a Capacitor-centered setup.
