Marathon’s ranked structure gives each tier real meaning. Bronze through Gold feeds into low-stakes zones. Reaching Platinum unlocks high-stakes zones with better loot and harder competition — and the point penalty on death scales with your Holotag tier, so the cost of a failed run at Diamond is significantly higher than at Silver.

Buy Marathon Rank Boost to reach any tier without absorbing full point loss on every mismanaged run.
Rank progress is tied directly to extraction value. You purchase a Holotag before each ranked run — it sets your score target (for example, a Silver Holotag sets a 5,000 credit target, Diamond sets 15,000, Pinnacle sets 20,000). Extract with loot value at or above that target and you gain rank points. Extract below target and you neither gain nor lose. Die before extracting and you lose rank points equal to the full target. Each rank runs Bronze through Pinnacle with three subdivisions each, plus a Master tier for the global top 500.
Platinum is the threshold where high-stakes ranked zones unlock. These zones have stronger loot opportunities but more demanding competition and higher expected gear levels. The risk-reward balance shifts — Holotag targets are larger, losses cost more, and the player pool is more experienced. It’s the point in the climb where controlled play and good zone knowledge matter most.
Yes. All rank standing resets at the end of each season, roughly every three months. Cosmetic rewards earned during the season — including placement-based rewards — are issued at reset and remain permanently on your account. Ranked Mode itself launched during the second half of March 2026. If you’re targeting specific seasonal cosmetics tied to a rank tier, the boost needs to be completed before the season ends.
