Blizzard releases Diablo 4 patch 3.2.4 on October 28 across all platforms, expanding Prime Evil Splinter stacks from 1 to 99. The update removes the single-item cap that forced players to consume or discard duplicate drops throughout Season 15. Existing copies of the same splinter automatically consolidate into stacks as soon as you install the build.

Inventory capacity before and after the update

Build #74043 centers on the Splinter stack size increase and also includes stability, visual, and UI improvements. The update notes classify the modification as a direct stack size increase rather than an unintended bug resolution.

Prior to this update, carrying a Splinter of Destruction, Splinter of Hatred, or Splinter of Terror locked that slot and blocked stockpiling. Farmers targeting Hellfire Torches through Wirt's Lucky Coins had to spend each piece immediately or recruit a second player to juggle transfers.

How the new limit affects Season 15 farming

You do not need to take manual steps to merge scattered inventory slots. Once patch 3.2.4 goes live, duplicate Prime Evil Splinters of matching types stack together on their own.

  • Splinter hoarders: Starting October 28, you can stockpile seasonal drops from Helltide Prime Evil Echoes and Capstone Dungeons instead of spending them immediately. For an efficient seasonal loop, review the best way to farm Splinters in Diablo 4.
  • Endgame crafters: Once patch 3.2.4 goes live, combining materials to summon the Prime Evil Trio for a Hellfire Torch no longer requires running directly to the encounter after every single drop.
  • Account maintenance: If you want to bypass the seasonal rep grind entirely, our Diablo 4 Splinter Rank Leveling Boost handles the activity progression for you.

What comes next for Season 15 and 16

Patch 3.2.4 goes live on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation on October 28, 2026.

Meanwhile, testing for the next seasonal cycle begins on October 27. Testing for Season 16 features on the update 3.3.0 public test realm begins on October 27 and concludes November 3, allowing players to evaluate base Druid skill tag adjustments, Marks of Wisdom currency, and War Plans Tactics. Blizzard says some features from the Season of Hell's Legacy will be carrying forward into Season 16, but those features will not be part of the PTR.
