//NODE.OVRD.AVALON// is an Exotic mission set inside the Vex Network, originally tied to the Lightfall era and now available through the Exotic Mission Rotator. It rewards the Vexcalibur Exotic glaive and features code-entry mechanics, deletion phases, and a multi-phase Brakion boss fight.
When Avalon is active in the Exotic Mission Rotator, you can select it from the playlist node in the Director. Previously, it was accessed via a secret cave in the EDZ after solving Vex cube puzzles, but now it rotates in as a weekly Exotic mission with Normal and Legendary difficulties.
You gain access to //NODE.OVRD.AVALON// by playing when it is the featured Exotic mission in the Rotator and launching it from the corresponding playlist node. Ownership of the Lightfall expansion is required to participate and earn its rewards.
Yes, Avalon can be soloed, but it is mechanically heavy and punishing, especially on higher difficulties. Most players will find solo clears demanding due to deletion timers, symbol sequences, and the aggressive final boss.
Originally, players unlocked Avalon by completing a hidden EDZ quest involving Vex cubes and a secret cave that leads into the Vex Network. In the current Exotic Mission Rotator structure, the “quest” is effectively replaced by the weekly availability of the mission itself once you own the required DLC.
Yes, repeated runs can drop additional Legendary weapons and armor tied to the mission, plus upgrades for Vexcalibur, Deepsight weapons (when applicable), and weekly high-end rewards from the Exotic Mission Rotator.
