The D4 Tuning Prisms Boosting service covers all four Prism types available in the Lord of Hatred expansion. Adept and Chromatic are the two standard category filter Prisms most builds consume consistently. Entropic and Kullean are the Transfiguration-exclusive Prisms with permanent consequences on the items they are used on — and they are meaningfully rarer.
|
Prism Type |
Recipe Use |
Effect |
|
Adept Tuning Prism |
Affix rerolling, item modification, Rare-to-Legendary transmutation |
Steers rolls toward Skill Rank and class-specific affixes; most impactful for Warlock, caster, and ability-focused builds |
|
Chromatic Tuning Prism |
Affix rerolling and item modification |
Steers rolls toward elemental and resistance affixes; useful for builds relying on elemental damage scaling |
|
Entropic Tuning Prism |
Transfiguration only |
Removes catastrophic and transcendent outcomes from the roll, guaranteeing the item either improves slightly or stays the same; renders the item permanently Unmodifiable afterward |
|
Kullean Tuning Prism |
Transfiguration on amulets only |
Adds a random bonus Legendary affix to the amulet without locking it to Unmodifiable, allowing repeated Transfiguration until the desired aspect lands |
The Kullean Tuning Prism is functionally the most valuable of the four because it is the only way to safely Transfigure an item without bricking it. Transfiguring an item without a Kullean Prism has a near-certain chance of making it permanently Unmodifiable with no affix gained — the worst possible crafting outcome in the game for an item that often takes hours to optimize. With a Kullean, the item stays Modifiable after the roll, letting you repeat the process until a desirable Legendary aspect appears from the pool of approximately 30 generic options.
Adept Tuning Prisms are the most universally impactful starting point. Skill Rank affixes on helms and amulets define most build ceilings in the current endgame, and Adept Prisms are the direct tool for pushing rerolls toward those affixes. Chromatic is the next priority for elemental builds. Save Kullean and Entropic for when you have a near-finished Ancestral piece worth committing to a permanent Transfiguration.
It removes the two worst Transfiguration outcomes: item destruction and the Unmodifiable-with-no-benefit result. The item will either improve slightly or remain exactly as it was before the recipe ran. The tradeoff is significant — the item becomes permanently Unmodifiable after the Entropic Prism is consumed regardless of the outcome. Use it only when you have decided the item is in its final state and you want one last controlled improvement attempt without risking losing everything you have already invested.
