For PvE, High Tyrant’s strongest identity is as a Void crowd-control and debuff engine. The core combo is Destabilizing Rounds plus Master of Arms: you constantly make enemies Volatile and then ramp your damage after every kill, turning this pulse rifle into a centerpiece of Void builds in dungeons, raids, and high-tier strikes.

Trait 1 |
Defeating targets spreads Volatile to nearby enemies, causing AoE Void explosions and crowd control. |

Trait 2 |
Weapon damage increases briefly after a kill, boosting DPS during chained engagements. |
In PvP, High Tyrant becomes a precision mid-range dueling tool built around accuracy and stability. Rapid Hit and Headseeker together reward precision bursts, tightening recoil with repeated crits and smoothing out body-shot engagements, which makes tracking and clean two-to-three burst kills far more consistent in real Crucible fights.

High Tyrant is a Legendary Void Balanced pulse rifle with a 540 RPM archetype, dropping exclusively from the Equilibrium dungeon in the Renegades expansion. It uses the new Heat Weapon mechanics, generating low heat per burst for very stable sustained fire.
High Tyrant drops as loot from specific encounters inside the Equilibrium dungeon, so you need to own Renegades, unlock the dungeon, and clear those encounters for a chance at the weapon. There is no quest or guaranteed first-drop, so multiple runs are usually required.
High Tyrant is a solid mid-range dueling option in Crucible thanks to its controllable recoil and access to perks like Rapid Hit and Headseeker, which boost consistency and flinch. It is not a “broken” meta gun, but in the right roll it performs very reliably in ranked and Trials-style play.
In PvE, High Tyrant shines in Void builds because it can roll Destabilizing Rounds and Repulsor Brace, spreading Volatile and generating overshields while you clear groups of enemies. Combined with damage perks like Master of Arms or Frenzy, it becomes a dependable primary for dungeons, Nightfalls, and seasonal content.
