The Great Psycho Mask Hunt

To add to the crossover fun, a special Easter egg hunt has been unleashed across the maps. Three Psycho Bandit masks are hidden on every single map—one outside and two inside.

To complete the challenge, you must find and shoot a mask in five different public matches (Quick Play, Unranked, or Ranked). Upon completion, you will be rewarded with the “Shining Emblem” weapon charm and 1000 Battle Pass points (BP). Interestingly, the free charm is the very same one included in the paid Mozzie Psycho bundle!

This has been a massive community effort, so here is a guide to every single mask in the game.

You can now bring the iconic look of the Borderlands to the tactical world of Siege. Two special bundles are available for purchase in the shop:

  • The Firehawk Bundle: Gear up IQ with the legendary look of Lilith’s alter-ego, the Firehawk. This bundle includes a headgear, uniform, portrait, weapon skin, card background, and charm.
  • The Psycho Bundle: Let Mozzie embrace the chaos with a skin that transforms him into an unmistakable Psycho, one of the most recognizable figures from the Borderlands franchise. This bundle also includes a full set of cosmetics.

Each of these bundles costs 2,160 R6 Credits. However, if you can’t decide and want to unleash maximum mayhem, you can grab both in a discounted double bundle for 4,080 R6 Credits.

Note for Members: Players with an active Siege X Membership receive a 10% discount, reducing the price to 1,944 R6 Credits for a single bundle or 3,672 R6 Credits for the pair.

  • Junkyard: The outside mask is a tough one. In the junkyard, find the SWAT van and look underneath it from just the right angle to spot the mask.

These masks are cleverly hidden, making this a tougher map for hunters.

  • Southwest Exterior: On the southwest side of the plane, you’ll find a truck. Go prone, and you’ll discover a mask underneath it.
  • Cargo Hold: Head inside the plane and into the cargo hold. A mask is hidden way at the back of one of the overhead storage compartments.
  • Cockpit Area: Near the front of the plane, by the cockpit, there’s a small bed on the right. In a briefcase in a nearby storage case, you’ll find the final mask, though some debris might be covering it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Rainbow Six Siege x Borderlands crossover event?

The event is a special, limited-time collaboration between Ubisoft and the Borderlands franchise. It celebrates the chaotic and vibrant aesthetic of Borderlands by introducing it into the tactical world of Rainbow Six Siege. The event has two main components: premium cosmetic bundles that allow players to dress operators as iconic Borderlands characters, and a massive, community-focused Easter egg hunt for hidden Psycho Masks across all maps, which unlocks exclusive free rewards.

When did the event start?

The event officially began on July 15, 2025. This date marked the launch of all the new content, including the operator bundles in the shop and the secret placement of the Psycho Masks on all the maps for players to begin their hunt.

How long will the event last?

The event is scheduled to run for approximately three weeks from its start date. While Ubisoft has not given a hard end date, this duration is typical for limited-time events in Rainbow Six Siege. This means players have a limited window, likely until early August 2025, to purchase the bundles and complete the in-game challenge for the free rewards before the content is vaulted.

What new cosmetic bundles are available?

There are two main cosmetic bundles themed after legendary Borderlands figures. The first is the Firehawk Bundle, which transforms the operator IQ into Lilith’s powerful alter-ego. The second is the Psycho Bundle, which allows Mozzie to embrace the chaotic energy of the iconic Psycho bandit, the most recognizable enemy from the Borderlands series.

How much do the Borderlands bundles cost?

Each individual bundle has a standard price of 2,160 R6 Credits, which is the premium currency used in the Rainbow Six Siege store. For players who want to acquire both sets, Ubisoft is offering a combined double bundle for a total of 4,080 R6 Credits.

Is there a discount available for the bundles?

Yes, a discount is available for players who have an active Siege X Membership. This premium subscription service provides a 10% discount on store purchases, which reduces the cost of a single bundle to 1,944 R6 Credits, and the combined double bundle to 3,672 R6 Credits.

What is the Psycho Mask Hunt?

The Psycho Mask Hunt is a massive, in-game Easter egg challenge that was launched with the event. Ubisoft has hidden three small Psycho Bandit masks on every single map in the game. The goal for players is to find and shoot these masks during live online matches to earn exclusive rewards, encouraging community collaboration to uncover all 72 hidden locations.

How many masks are hidden on each map?

Each map in the game follows a consistent pattern: there are three masks hidden on it. Typically, one mask is placed somewhere on the exterior of the main building or just outside the playable map boundaries, while the other two masks are hidden somewhere inside the building, often in clever or hard-to-see spots.

How do I complete the challenge to get the free reward?

To complete the challenge, you need to successfully find and shoot a hidden Psycho Mask in five different public matches. You do not need to find all the masks in the game; the challenge only requires you to shoot one mask in five separate online games. Once you shoot a mask in a match, your progress for that match is counted.

What are the rewards for completing the mask hunt?

For successfully completing the challenge, players receive two distinct rewards. The first is a unique, event-exclusive weapon charm called the “Shining Emblem” charm. The second reward is 1000 Battle Pass points (BP), which will help you progress faster through the current seasonal Battle Pass tiers.

What is the name of the free charm?

The official name of the free weapon charm you earn from the challenge is the “Shining Emblem” charm. It’s a cosmetic item you can attach to your weapons to show off that you successfully participated in the great mask hunt.

Is there anything special about this free charm?

Yes, there is a fun fact about it. The free “Shining Emblem” charm is the exact same charm that is included in the premium, paid Mozzie Psycho Bundle. This means that players who complete the free challenge are essentially getting one of the items from the paid bundle at no cost.

In which game modes can I complete the mask hunt challenge?

The challenge progress is only tracked in live, public multiplayer matches. This includes the Quick Play, Unranked, or Ranked playlists. Shooting masks in any of these three modes will count towards your goal of five.

Can I find the masks in a custom game?

While you can load up any map in a custom game to freely explore and learn the mask locations without the pressure of a live match, shooting them in a custom game will not count towards the official challenge progress. Custom games are a great tool for practice, but the rewards can only be unlocked by playing in the official online playlists.

Which operators get the Borderlands skins?

The two operators chosen for this crossover are IQ and Mozzie. IQ receives the Firehawk skin, dressing her as the powerful Siren, Lilith. Mozzie receives the Psycho skin, transforming him into the iconic, mask-wearing bandit that has become the face of the Borderlands franchise.

What’s included in the Firehawk bundle?

The Firehawk bundle for IQ is a complete cosmetic set designed to replicate Lilith’s fiery persona. It includes a themed headgear, a unique uniform, a special operator portrait for your profile, a weapon skin for one of her guns, a custom card background, and a Firehawk-themed weapon charm.

What’s included in the Psycho bundle?

The Psycho bundle for Mozzie is a full set that turns him into a Borderlands bandit. It includes the iconic Psycho mask as headgear, a rugged uniform, a unique operator portrait, a themed weapon skin, a custom card background, and the “Shining Emblem” weapon charm.

Where is the mask on the map House?

On the map House, the three masks are located as follows:

  • Outside: Look near the construction area in the distance. Past the map’s barrier, you’ll find a police car, and the mask is located just outside the map itself near the vehicle.
  • Inside 1: Head up to the Kid’s Bedroom. The mask is hidden underneath the foot of the bed.
  • Inside 2: Go down to the Garage in the basement. In a back corner, the final mask is tucked away underneath a small box.

Can you give an example of a very difficult mask location?

The masks on the Outback map are notoriously difficult and highlight how creative the developers were. For example, one mask requires you to climb up near the exterior gas pumps and then look through the window and into the cabin of a truck to spot it. Another is located inside the mouth of the giant shark statue in the Party Room, requiring a very awkward angle to shoot.

Does the guide have every single mask location?

Yes, the guide is a complete and comprehensive resource that details the precise location of all 72 masks in the game. It covers every map in the rotation, providing directions for the one outside mask and two inside masks for each, ensuring players can find every last one if they choose.
