To start Ogden's Sign in Diablo 4, enter the Deckard's Memory portal located at the Imperial Library in Caldeum and speak with Ogden the tavern owner inside Old Tristram. Completing the side quest awards a guaranteed Mythic Harlequin Crest (Shako). You do not need to defeat any Prime Evils during the run to secure the helm.

How to unlock Old Tristram

Reaching Old Tristram requires collecting ten Deckard's Journals hidden across Sanctuary. These items show up as green dots on your minimap whenever you approach them, and you can pick them up in any order.

Once you gather all ten journals, a quest appears on your map pointing to the Imperial Library in Caldeum. Speak with Deckard Cain there to open a portal named Deckard's Memory, which leads straight into Old Tristram.

Ogden's Sign Diablo 4 location and walkthrough

After stepping into Old Tristram, locate Ogden near the tavern ruins to accept the quest.

  1. Speak to Ogden to learn about his missing tavern sign.
  2. Travel to the Diablo's Labyrinth capstone dungeon where Diablo is fought.
  3. Locate a neutral demon named Snotspill inside the dungeon and talk to him to receive a key.
  4. Stay on the same dungeon floor and locate a separate room containing a chest.
  5. Clear out several waves of attacking enemies to secure the area.
  6. Open the locked chest using Snotspill's key and take the tavern sign.
  7. Head back to Old Tristram and return the sign to Ogden.

You have the choice of visiting Snotspill before leaving the dungeon, but he will turn hostile and drops no valuable loot.

Rewards

Returning the stolen sign to Ogden completes the quest and rewards you with a Mythic Harlequin Crest (Shako). The helm has a chance to roll with Greater Affixes.

The side quest can be completed once per week on each character. If you want to grab an extra achievement while working on the quest, talk to every townsperson in Tristram—such as Griswold, Adria, Wirt, Pepin, Gillian, and Farnham—before turning in the sign to unlock the Sign Snooper achievement.

Regarding bonus food drops, one player reported completing the quest at T12 without getting any Prime Ribs. A few players say the Prime Ribs come from killing the Butcher rather than from the quest itself. In one player's runs, holding any Prime Ribs in your bags blocks the quest from giving out additional ones.
