Confirmed Gameplay Changes
EA has named five gameplay pillars so far:
- Attacking Spatial Awareness — teammates better recognize open space and passing intent, using curved, overlapping, and underlapping runs both automatically and on demand.
- Off-Balance Dribbling — agile dribblers maintain momentum through physical contact via controlled imbalance.
- Redesigned Corners and Crossing — real-time control over positioning and attacking intent, with improved two-player heading interactions.
- AI Defending Rebalance — automatic AI tackles are removed, putting more weight on manual jockeying and timed challenges.

Career Mode and Dynamic OVR
Dynamic OVR adds a fluctuating current rating influenced by form, morale, and fitness, applying across every club rather than just the one you manage — so a player on a hot streak can outperform their usual level, and AI transfer targets see the same swings. EA hasn’t explained how this interacts with long-term potential, so treat it as a layer on top of the existing development system.
Alongside it, the rebuilt Transfer Market adds active bidding from rival clubs, performance and buy-back clauses, values tied to buying power, potential, rating and form, and integration with TransferRoom (not Transfermarkt) — plus new Manager Live Creator Challenges and Player Career Rivalries.
Together, this pushes Career Mode toward a more Moneyball-style approach: identifying undervalued players, timing sales around current form, and using clauses to control long-term deals. “Moneyball” is our shorthand, not EA’s official name for the system.
The Grounds
EA’s new social football hub, expanding rather than replacing Clubs. Confirmed details:
