Updated October 29, 2026 for Is Tarkov Down.
To check whether Tarkov is down today, start with its official status page at status.escapefromtarkov.com. Check individual services before troubleshooting your installation: the status feed separates authentication, the launcher, matchmaking and other functions.
How to check Tarkov server status
- Open the official server status page and look for service problems or updates.
- Inspect the component closest to your problem: the feed includes Website, Forum, Authentication, Launcher, Group lobby, Trading, Matchmaking, Friends and msg, and Inventory operations.
- Check recent player reports alongside the service status; reports can distinguish game-launch trouble from server-connection problems.
- Wait a few minutes, then check again before another attempt to connect.
When asking “is Tarkov down?”, separate the function you need from the overall status. A working website alone should not be your reason to assume everything else works.

Why you can have problems with an operational status
An operational reading does not rule out a problem affecting you: status updates can lag behind a developing fault, and some issues affect particular regions or accounts.
What to try when Tarkov will not connect
Try these checks before making larger changes:
- Check your internet connection.
- Reload and try signing out, then signing back in.
Avoid reinstalling to address a server outage; recovery requires a fix on the service side. For a backend error, use the separate Escape from Tarkov backend error guide to work through that symptom.
How to report your connection problem
On a player-report tracker, select the option to report an issue and choose the affected function. Add a comment describing what happens when you try to play.
Keep your description specific. Include the error you see and the action that triggers it, rather than assuming every failed connection has the same cause.
