Wow Season Of Discovery Realm Consolidation: Free Transfers

Blizzard’s Season of Discovery team is consolidating realms due to low populations on several servers. Here’s the info on what’s happening and what you need to know about the free character transfers.

What’s Going Down

Wow Season Of Discovery Realm Consolidation: Free Transfers
  • Lava Lash (US), Lava Lash (EU), and Chaos Bolt (EU) servers have populations that are too low.
  • Blizzard is closing these realms to new accounts and opening free transfers to larger servers.
  • Players on these realms can transfer to Wild Growth PvE or Crusader Strike RP-PvP in their respective regions.

Official Blizzard Statements

Blizzard-US

Lava Lash isn’t where we want it to be. We generally try to let roleplay realms do their thing, but it’s looking pretty sparse even after recent transfers.

So, we’re closing Lava Lash to new accounts and opening free transfers to Wild Growth (PvE) and Crusader Strike (RP-PvP)

Blizzard-EU

After looking at last week’s numbers, it’s clear that the RP realm here isn’t holding up population-wise for the best WoW experience.

We’re closing these realms to new accounts and opening free transfers to bigger, healthier servers.

Why are some realms being consolidated?

Lava Lash (US/EU) and Chaos Bolt (EU) servers have low populations, which impacts the quality of gameplay and community. To address this, Blizzard is consolidating these realms and offering free transfers to Wild Growth (PvE) and Crusader Strike (RP-PvP) realms.

Which realms are affected by the consolidation?

The affected realms are:

  • Lava Lash (US)
  • Lava Lash (EU)
  • Chaos Bolt (EU)

Where can I transfer my characters?

You can transfer your characters to the following realms:

  • From Realm To Realm 1 (PvE)              To Realm 2 (RP-PvP)
  • Lava Lash (US) Wild Growth       Crusader Strike
  • Lava Lash (EU) Wild Growth       Crusader Strike
  • Chaos Bolt (EU) Wild Growth       Crusader Strike

How do I initiate the free transfer?

You can find the free transfer option in the in-game store at the character select screen.

Are there any restrictions or requirements for transferring?

Here are some general guidelines for transferring:

Your character must not be the leader of a guild or have any active auctions.

  • Your character’s mailbox must be empty.
  • Characters cannot transfer with an active WoW Token.
  • Ensure your bags and bank are not overstuffed.

How long will these transfers be available?

The free transfers are open indefinitely for the lifetime of the realms.

Will my character’s progress and items be affected by the transfer?

No, your character will retain all their progress and items after the transfer, provided you follow the transfer guidelines (empty mailbox, etc.).

I have multiple characters on one of the affected realms. Can I transfer them all?

Yes, you can transfer all of your characters from the affected realms to the designated larger realms.

What happens to guilds during this transfer process?

If you’re a guild leader, disband your guild before transferring. Members can join or create a new guild after moving to the new realm.

Can I return to my original realm after transferring?

Once a character is moved to a new realm, it cannot return to its original realm as those are now closed to new accounts.

Will the realms receiving these transfers become overcrowded?

Wild Growth and Crusader Strike have significantly larger populations and can accommodate the incoming transfers comfortably.
