Blackout Event is a limited Escape from Tarkov event focused on The Lab, where the map is plunged into darkness and Black Division forces appear alongside Wedge. The event adds dangerous night-combat conditions, special quest objectives, valuable loot opportunities, and progression toward the Going Dark achievement.
Going Dark is the achievement tied to encountering Black Division forces and completing the Blackout event task line. It is one of the main progression goals of the event and requires more than simply entering Labs once.
Wedge is the event’s main Black Division boss threat on The Lab. He and his squad are dangerous because they use strong gear, high-penetration ammo, aggressive combat behavior, and can punish players who enter the event without proper preparation.
Black Division gear refers to the weapons, armor, ammunition, and tactical equipment carried by Wedge’s squad and related event enemies. These loadouts are valuable because they can include strong NATO ammunition, high-end rifles, and other combat-ready equipment.
