Operation Split Fire Release Date & Reveal Time

Ubisoft hasn’t officially announced an exact release date. The full reveal is August 15, with SiegeGG reporting a 5–6 PM CEST window shortly before the Esports World Cup grand final, where Ubisoft will show the new Operator in a complete Season 3 balancing update. September 1, 2026 is the leading expected launch date — both SiegeGG and Insider Gaming project it based on the reveal date, Siege’s usual Tuesday release pattern, and the early-September esports schedule, and it lines up with the current Battle Pass, which runs through that date. Treat it as unconfirmed until Ubisoft says otherwise.

R6 Year 11 Season 3 Operator: Shield-Counter Defender
Confirmed: a new Defender built specifically to counter shield Operators. Blitz, Montagne, and Blackbeard are obvious potential matchups, but Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed exactly which shields or shield gadgets the ability affects. No new weapon is listed for Season 3 on Ubisoft’s roadmap (unlike Seasons 1, 2, and 4), suggesting the Defender will likely use existing weapons.
Strongly teased, not officially confirmed:
- Egyptian background — the reveal charm’s Egyptian flag and imagery, plus reports from SiegeGG and Insider Gaming, point this way, but Ubisoft hasn’t published a bio yet.
- A launcher- or projectile-based gadget aimed at ballistic shields — the exact effect is still unknown.
- Possible ALDA 5.56 loadout, spotted in teaser imagery but unconfirmed.
Teasers place the Operator on Border with an anti-shield newspaper and a callback to the Keres Legion storyline. None of this affects gameplay, and Border has nothing to do with the map update (that’s Villa).

Y11S3 Balance Changes: Dokkaebi, SMG-12 & DMR Nerfs

Ubisoft says the meta is trending toward “power Operators,” and Y11S3 balancing aims to rein that in without gutting what makes them fun.
- Dokkaebi — Jegeo Payload currently gives a targeted Defender 7 seconds to reset their phone or take 40 damage, a brief fire zone, and lost phone access. Ubisoft has layered in counterplay all season (a 7-second global cooldown in Y11S2.1, a 14-second per-target cooldown in Y11S2.2), and Y11S3 turns it into an interruptible active upload — stoppable via Mute‘s radius, killing Dokkaebi mid-upload, or Tubarão’s Zoto Canister, with IQ and Solis able to detect the phone/tablet involved. She also loses her Impact EMPs for Breach Charges.
- SMG-12 — damage and magazine size both reduced.
- MK14 / AR-15.50 — pulled below 60 damage, with increased recoil and the muzzle brake removed.

Ranked 3.0 & Legend Division

Split Fire continues Ranked 3.0: no hidden MMR (Rank Points drive matchmaking directly), five Placement Matches each season with boosted RP and no squad restrictions, and Ubisoft says future seasons will weight placements more heavily (unconfirmed for S3 specifically). The Competitive Rewards track gives 2 points per win and 1 per loss, with a reward every 10 points, plus separate rewards for your season’s peak rank. Squad strength affects matchmaking, and individual KDA doesn’t directly affect Rank.
If you want to push your Ranked progression without spending countless matches climbing through each division, our R6 X Rank Boost can help you reach your desired rank while progressing rewards and Battle Pass levels along the way.
Legend Division is a new competitive playlist available at mid-season, sitting above the Ranked ladder and replacing the Champion I featured leaderboard. Ubisoft describes it as having a solo-queue focus, although the final queue restrictions haven’t been detailed yet. Season 3 entry requires Platinum+ in Season 2, Champion in Season 3, app-based two-factor authentication, and the ShieldGuard Secure Platform. Enabling 2FA also grants a free Alpha Pack.
Champion is one of the key requirements for entering Legend Division in Season 3. If that’s your target, our R6 Siege X Champion MMR Boost is designed specifically for pushing Champion RP and progressing further at the top of the Ranked ladder.
R6 ShieldGuard & Y11S3 Anti-Cheat Changes

R6 ShieldGuard Secure Platform launches with Legend Division and combines Secure Boot, VBS/Core Isolation, and TPM verification on PC — some players may need to adjust Windows Security or firmware settings. Ubisoft says cheating reports overall are at a recent low but remain higher in high-rank play, which is why these requirements start there.
Season 3 also introduces a separate kernel-level anti-cheat solution. Separately, a new recoil-macro detector goes live on PC later in August (console support still in development) and only bans after multiple confirmed detections, while Ubisoft is still developing retrospective match analysis to catch cheaters after matches have already been played.
Operation Split Fire Economy Changes
- New event collection packs become R6 Credits-only; Rengoku and M.U.T.E. Protocol are the last purchasable with Renown.
- Older returning collections keep dual-currency purchasing.
- Masterpiece skins become directly purchasable with R6 Credits (no full collection required), and direct purchases include event packs.
- The Siege Marketplace stays closed while Ubisoft rebuilds its security and economy systems.
Villa Update, Operator Mastery & New Game Modes

- Villa Targeted Map Update — changes to breachable walls, hatches, and bomb-site locations; specifics not yet revealed.
- Operator Mastery — a long-term system to level every Operator; requirements and rewards TBA.
- 3v3 Arcade mode — planned as a new two-week limited-time mode.
- Three modernized maps — likely improved lighting/textures and Destructible Ingredients (gas pipes, fire extinguishers, metal detectors), based on past passes; exact maps unnamed.
- Drone Race — new limited-time event, plus a second unnamed returning event.
- Year 11 update cadence — four updates per season (two Major, two Refined) every three weeks, with two ranked map pool rotations (launch and mid-season).
Y11S2.3 Patch Notes Before Operation Split Fire
Smaller tuning ahead of Split Fire: Hibana’s X-Kairos now detonates in 3.8s (from 4.0s); Maverick’s total torch fuel rises to 320 (~11% more); Fuze’s Cluster Charge deploys in 1.75s on reinforced surfaces (from 2.0s); Tubarão’s Zoto radius grows to 3.2m; Oryx’s Remah Dash cooldown drops to 5s; Mute’s disruption range increases slightly; Impact EMP radius grows to 2.0m; and the Reaper MK2’s recoil stages shift later (bullets 0/3/10/25). The patch also fixes several bugs, including Chalet balcony rappelling, Villa garage detection, Roc’s oversized shield hitbox, and console input/crossplay issues.
Rengoku Event Dates & Rewards
Rengoku runs August 5–26 with Control the Points on the Floating Temple version of Skyscraper, the free Automatic Elegance AK-74M challenge skin, and the Expected Feast MP5SD Twitch Drop.
What We Still Don’t Know
Beyond the Defender’s role and shield-counter focus, Ubisoft hasn’t revealed the name, exact gadget mechanics, weapon loadout, stats, or official bio. Egyptian origin and the ALDA 5.56 remain teaser-based, not confirmed. Expect answers on August 15.
