The Space Marine 2 Year 3 roadmap includes a new PvP mode, the Apothecary class, two Operations, class reworks and additional weapons and cosmetics. Its release calendar remains subject to change, so treat the quarterly windows as planning targets.

Patch 16 PvP mode and Vanguard rework
- PvP mode: A new competitive mode will use Weekly Stratagems to introduce gameplay modifiers.
- Vanguard: The class will receive its rework in this update.
- Heroic Armour: Three pieces are scheduled to expand customization options.
- Siege and Stratagems: Planned adjustments cover Siege's Blessings and Atonements, plus selected Battlefield conditions in Stratagems.
Saber also planned to let Bulwarks equip robes and tabards separately from chest pieces in Patch 16, while keeping that plan open to changes. The Heavy's Deathwatch Iron Halo is planned to become usable by other characters with the same patch.
Loading optimizations across Patches 15 and 16 were expected to cut loading times by roughly 30% once both sets of changes were live; that estimate covers their combined effect.
Patch 16 Heroic Weapons and their effects
The six incoming variants have different firing, charging and damage mechanics, detailed in the Space Marine 2 community update.
- Omnissian Axe: Hold the attack input to create a large electrical zone and keep it active.
- Heavy Bolt Pistol: Firing without aiming increases its shooting speed, while close-range attacks gain a substantial damage boost.
- Bolt Rifle: Fire individual shots in a steady rhythm to build up damage.
- Las Fusil: Shoots without a charge-up and gradually replenishes ammunition.
- Plasma Incinerator: Deals more damage while overheated.
- Infernus Heavy Bolter: Adds a flamethrower beneath the barrel.
Patch 17 Apothecary, Operation and Heavy rework
The Apothecary will wear Gravis armour. Its selection disappoints many players who had wanted a Judiciar, Chaplain or Terminator class instead.
The prospect of a healing role appeals to others, with one player saying:
I knew it was going to be apothecary, healer is literally the only class we don't have yet.

Patch 17's other gameplay additions are:
- Operation: A new mission will join the PvE lineup.
- Absolvor Bolt Pistol: The pistol is scheduled to arrive alongside the class.
- Heroic Weapons: Three additional weapons are listed for this update.
- Heavy rework: Changes will focus primarily on the Iron Halo ability.
The Victrix Honour Guard Storm Shield will become available through the Refinement & Redemption shop when Patch 17 launches, with Requisition Points as its unlock currency. The shield previously required a purchase through Twitch's Support A Streamer campaign.
Patch 18 perks, Prestige and Crucible rewards
Patch 18 will bring the other new Operation, additional Crucible rewards, three Heroic Weapons and three Heroic Armour Pieces. Both Year 3 Operations will include bosses, and Saber has also confirmed that new Extremis enemies are coming.
A fourth perk row will aim to expand build choices with perks that can define how you play a class. The Prestige rework is intended to reduce the disruption caused by resetting class perks and make progression endless.
Patch 19 Two-Handed Power Sword
The Two-Handed Power Sword is scheduled for Patch 19, alongside six Heroic Weapons and three Heroic Armour Pieces.
The wait for the Greatsword and new Operations feels too long to some players, who worry about the gap between PvE additions.
Season Pass 3 and cosmetic packs
The Space Marine 2 Year 3 roadmap lists the following cosmetic DLC by update.
| Update | Cosmetic packs |
| Patch 16 | Deathwatch Champion Pack and Mortifactors Cosmetic Pack. |
| Patch 17 | Imperial Fists Champion Pack 2 and Minotaurs Cosmetic Pack. |
| Patch 18 | Blood Angels Champion Pack 2 and White Consuls Cosmetic Pack. |
| Patch 19 | Crimson Fists Cosmetic Pack and a Champion Pack shown with its identity concealed. |
Other planned progression and customization changes
Saber plans a level requirement for endgame activities such as Hard Stratagems and Hard Siege. Crucible progression is intended to remain separate for each class, with its progression speed and individual penance balance subject to adjustment after further evaluation.
Other customization work includes:
- Tactical equipment: Deathwatch backpacks and devices are planned for the class.
- Mk VI Corvus greaves: Emblems on the upper greave area are planned.
- Sniper hoods: Additional hood options and recoloring are in development.
- Backpack emblems: The feature remains in the backlog, behind customization improvements already planned.
Saber also plans to revise the flow after missions, starting with PvP to reduce downtime between matches and extending the benefits to other modes. Crossplay text chat is in development.
