Updated November 3, 2026.

Our source guide recommends Protection as the fastest Warrior spec for leveling. Arms picks up with Sweeping Strikes at 30 and Mortal Strike at 40, and Fury comes together with Flurry and Bloodthirst by 40. At level 60 the damage builds are the Mortal Strike Two Handed build and the Bloodthirst Dual Wield build, and the tank is the Shield Slam Tank build. PvP has a build for each of the three trees. WoW Forever launches on November 4, so all of these come from the beta, and we will update them as players reach 60.

Talents, spells and their numbers come from the game client. Every build and rotation comes from a published guide or plan, named under the planner. Where we changed an order or carried one over from leveling, the rotation says so. Nothing at level 60 is tested in play yet.

    Warrior leveling builds

    Arms Leveling

The first points go to Improved Rend at 10 to 12 and both points of Improved Overpower by 16. Sweeping Strikes at 30 lets your next five melee attacks also hit a second enemy nearby, and Bloodthrill from 31 to 35 gives your main hand attacks on a Rend target a 20% chance to open up Overpower. One point in Improved Slam at 36 stops Slam from delaying your swing, and Mortal Strike at 40 becomes your main attack. Use the two-handed weapon with the best DPS you can get: Weaponmaster gives a bonus for every main weapon type.

Talent points: 33 Arms, 16 Fury, 2 Protection.

Rotation: keep up: Battle Shout, Bloodrage; in the fight: Charge, Victory Rush, Demoralizing Shout, Rend, Overpower, Mortal Strike, Slam, Execute; two or more enemies: Sweeping Strikes, Rend, Overpower, Slam, Cleave; when it helps: Pummel, Berserker Rage.

    Fury Leveling

You cannot dual wield until level 20, so use your best weapon until then. A good two-handed one works well. Cruelty and Unbridled Wrath take the first ten points, then Furious Precision from 20 makes your offhand miss less, the main weakness of early dual wielding. Flurry from 35 and Bloodthirst at 40 are where the build comes together, and Gore Drinker at 42 and 43 adds healing to your attacks. Fury can be slower than Protection before that, so you may prefer to respec to it at a later level.

Talent points: 13 Arms, 36 Fury, 2 Protection.

Rotation: keep up: Battle Shout, Bloodrage; in the fight: Charge, Victory Rush, Demoralizing Shout, Death Wish, Bloodthirst, Whirlwind, Overpower, Rend; two or more enemies: Demoralizing Shout, Whirlwind, Bloodthirst, Cleave; when it helps: Pummel, Berserker Rage.

    Protection Leveling

This build is made for solo play and for tanking dungeons. Shield Specialization comes first, for 5 Rage on every block, then Improved Revenge by 17 and Master of Defense at 20 and 21 for Rage from dodges and parries. Vanguard at 25 lets you Charge from Defensive Stance, Focused Rage from 30 cuts the cost of your attacks, and Shield Slam at 40 becomes your main ability. Use a two-handed weapon until you learn Revenge at 14, then a one-handed weapon and shield.

Talent points: 20 Fury, 31 Protection.

Rotation: keep up: Defensive Stance, Battle Shout, Bloodrage; in the fight: Charge, Victory Rush, Demoralizing Shout, Shield Slam, Revenge, Shield Block, Rend, Sunder Armor; against a group: Demoralizing Shout, Thunder Clap, Shield Slam, Revenge, Cleave; when it helps: Shield Bash, Taunt, Concussion Blow, Last Stand.

    Warrior raid builds

    Mortal Strike Two Handed

This is the two-handed Arms build for dungeons and raids. With Rend on the target, your main hand melee attacks can open up Overpower through Bloodthrill. You move between Battle Stance for Overpower and Berserker Stance for Whirlwind, with Improved Tactical Mastery keeping Rage through the swaps. Rage is the limit, because several attacks compete for it.

Talent points: 35 Arms, 16 Fury.

Rotation: keep up: Battle Shout; in the fight: Charge, Bloodrage, Execute, Rend, Mortal Strike, Overpower, Slam, Heroic Strike; when it helps: Sweeping Strikes, Whirlwind, Cleave.

    Bloodthirst Dual Wield

This is the dual wield Fury build for dungeons and raids. Bloodthirst is your main attack and Flurry turns melee crits into faster swings. Furious Precision and Dual Wield Specialization make the offhand worth more in damage and Rage. The Arms points add Deep Wounds for bleed damage and Impale for harder ability crits.

Talent points: 17 Arms, 34 Fury.

Rotation: keep up: Battle Shout, Berserker Stance; in the fight: Bloodrage, Death Wish, Recklessness, Execute, Bloodthirst, Whirlwind, Heroic Strike; when it helps: Cleave.

    Shield Slam Tank

This is the tank build for dungeons and raids. Focused Rage stacks with Improved Sunder Armor and Improved Thunder Clap, so each attack costs less Rage. Shield Specialization and Master of Defense give you Rage when you block, dodge or parry with a shield, which pays for Shield Slam and Revenge. The Fury points add damage and Rage.

Talent points: 20 Fury, 31 Protection.

Rotation: keep up: Defensive Stance, Battle Shout; in the fight: Charge, Bloodrage, Shield Block, Thunder Clap, Shield Slam, Revenge, Demoralizing Shout, Sunder Armor; when it helps: Cleave, Taunt.

    Warrior PvP builds

    Arms PvP

Improved Rend, Improved Overpower and Improved Charge come first, then Deep Wounds by 22 and Improved Tactical Mastery by 27. Weaponmaster fills 31 to 35, and Mortal Strike at 40 cuts healing on your target by 50% for 10 seconds. From 41 the build picks up Cruelty, Improved Hamstring, which can root your target for 5 seconds, and Unbridled Wrath.

Talent points: 34 Arms, 14 Fury, 3 Protection.

Key moves: keep for the right moment: Hamstring, Mortal Strike, Charge, Intercept, Berserker Rage, Intimidating Shout.

    Fury PvP

Cruelty and Unbridled Wrath take the first ten points. Piercing Howl at 20 slows every enemy around you by 50%, and Enrage fills 25 to 29. Death Wish comes at 30, Improved Intercept by 34, Flurry from 35 and Bloodthirst at 40. Improved Berserker Rage at 41 and 42 gives 10 Rage and frees you from slows. Dual Wield Specialization follows at 44 to 48, and the last points go to Arms.

Talent points: 12 Arms, 39 Fury.

Key moves: burst: Intercept, Hamstring, Bloodthirst; keep for the right moment: Piercing Howl, Berserker Rage, Recklessness.

    Protection PvP

Shield Specialization comes first, then Improved Bloodrage and Iron Will, which makes stuns and fears on you end sooner. Improved Disarm at 27 to 29 brings Disarm back 20 seconds sooner, Concussion Blow at 30 stuns for 5 seconds, and Improved Shield Bash by 32 adds a 3-second silence. Improved Shield Wall by 47 brings Shield Wall back 11 minutes sooner. The last 13 points go to Fury for Cruelty, Unbridled Wrath, Piercing Howl and Blood Craze.

Talent points: 13 Fury, 38 Protection.

Key moves: keep for the right moment: Shield Bash, Disarm, Concussion Blow, Shield Wall, Last Stand.
