Sound the trumpets and dust off those friend lists, Warriors of Light! Have you got pals or Free Company comrades who’ve been MIA from Eorzea, perhaps lost in the real world (the horror!) or simply taking a break from the endless stream of amazing content? Well, now’s the perfect time to lure them back into the adventure with the glorious return of the FFXIV Callback Campaign!
This special event is your chance to send out a friendly Eorzean Bat-Signal to those adventurers who are currently inactive. Not only do they get a sweet deal to return, but you also get rewarded for your benevolent nagging… er, invitation! Itβs a win-win for rekindling friendships and snagging some shiny loot.
Mark Your Calendars! (The Important Dates!)
Forget the old dates swimming in your memory! This latest iteration of the Callback Campaign is live RIGHT NOW and runs from Friday, April 11, 2025 all the way through to Friday, May 9, 2025 (ending around 1:00 AM PDT / 8:00 GMT / 9:00 BST / 18:00 AEST). Don’t miss this window to reunite with your adventuring buddies!

How to Invite Friends:

Ready to be the beacon calling your friends home to the wonders of FFXIV? Hereβs the lowdown on participating:
- Open Your Lists: Pop open your in-game Friend List or Free Company Member List.
- Find Your Target: Scroll through until you find the name of an offline friend you wish to invite back.
- Right-Click & Invite: Select their name and choose the “Invite Friend to Return” option from the subcommand menu. Poof! Magic!
Provided your friend meets the eligibility requirements (more on that tricky bit below), they will receive a lovely email β sent directly to the address registered to their Square Enix account β letting them know a certain someone (you!) wishes to see them back adventuring in Eorzea. The email will even include your character name and world, so they know exactly who’s summoning them forth!

Quirky Caveats & Need-to-Knows:

Invitation emails are sent out only once per day per friend, no matter how many times you enthusiastically click that invite button (patience, young Padawan!).
The game itself won’t send you a notification confirming whether your friend actually meets the requirements. You’ll just have to rely on your memory of how long they’ve been gazing at non-Eorzean horizons, or perhaps nudge them via other means (Discord, carrier pigeon, smoke signals?) to check their own eligibility.
Who Qualifies? (The Eligibility Lowdown):
Not everyone is and eligible friend. Here are the key requirements the potential invitee must meet:
- Long-Term Siesta: They must have been inactive (meaning their account has been unsubscribed or inactive) for at least 90 consecutive days (this includes any free play periods they might have had). They need a proper break under their belt!
- Registered Player: Crucially, they need to have purchased and registered Final Fantasy XIV to their account at some point in the past. This campaign isn’t for enticing brand new players still testing the waters on the free trial.

What About YOU, the Noble Inviter?

Any active player with friends (shocking, we know!) can send invites!
Each of your characters can be used to send out invitations up to five times. Good news: This 5-invite limit per character resets roughly every 30 days, allowing you to potentially have more players invited. Choose your potential returning heroes wisely for the current cycle!

The Sweet, Sweet Loot! (Rewards Rundown!)
Okay, let’s talk about the shiny stuff! Reconnecting is great, but rewards make it even better. Both the returning player and the dedicated inviter get some lovely goodies:
Rewards for Your Final Fantasy Returning Hero (The Invitee):
Your friend’s invited back to play and decides to return? Awesome! But WAIT! Before they eagerly log back in, they MUST click the special link (“Redeem Gift” or similar wording) within that invitation email. This activates their rewards! If they just log in without clicking the email link first, they might miss out on the freebies. Once they’ve clicked the link and return log in:
- Free Play Time: They can qualify for up to SEVEN DAYS of free play time! That’s a whole week to shake off the rust, catch up on story, or just run Gpose studio sessions! (Updated! Note this is different from the 14 days mentioned in older campaigns.)
- Aetheryte Tickets (x99): Free teleports galore! Because walking is for NPCs (sometimes). These tickets cover the Gil cost for teleporting across the realm.
- Silver Chocobo Feathers (x10): These aren’t just for show! Returning players can trade these handy feathers for useful gear to help them catch up quickly. Think level-appropriate weapons (starting at Level 20) and sturdy armor sets (for Levels 50, 60, 70, and even 80 characters). It’s like a welcome-back starter kit delivered by a helpful bird!

You, The Benevolent Inviter, Get Gold Chocobo Feathers!

Your reward arrives via the Moogle Delivery Service, but with a small, yet important, condition: your invited friend needs to purchase a subscription within 90 days of their return (after clicking the email link!). When that resubscription magic happens, expect a Moogle to drop off your prize!
Gold Chocobo Feathers (x5 per friend’s account): This is the main prize everyone’s after! You get a neat bundle of five of these rare and valuable feathers for each successfully invited friend’s Square Enix account that meets the criteria (returns via email link and resubscribes within the timeframe).
What Can Gold Feathers Get You? Oh, only some of the coolest, most sought-after swag in the game:
- Twintania Neurolink Key (Mount): Ride the legendary elder primal from the Binding Coil raids! An iconic status symbol. (Costs 15 Gold Feathers)
- Amber Draught Chocobo Whistle (Mount): Not just any chocobo, this one has a fancy, ethereal amber glow! Très chic! (Costs 8 Gold Feathers)
- Managarm Horn (Mount): Summon a cool, frosty wolf-like creature, perfect for traversing snowy zones (or just looking awesome). (Costs 8 Gold Feathers)
- Rare Dyes: Need that perfect shade of Jet Black or Pure White for your glam? Trade ’em in! (Costs 1 Gold Feather per bundle of 10 dyes)
- Aetheryte Tickets: More free teleports for your own adventures! (Costs 1 Gold Feather per bundle of 10 tickets)

Reward Notes & Clarifications:

You earn 5 Gold Feathers per qualifying friend’s account that returns and resubscribes. While you can invite up to 5 friends per character (with that limit resetting monthly), the Gold Feather reward is tied to the friend’s Square Enix account. Even if your friend has multiple characters on their account, you only receive the 5 feathers once when that account becomes active again via your invite and resubscribes.
Older campaign discussions sometimes mentioned rewards being distributed “only once.” For this current campaign, focus on the rule that Gold Feathers are awarded per unique friend’s account that successfully returns and resubscribes through your invite.
Want to track your success? You can find out how many friends you’ve successfully invited (who have subsequently resubscribed) on the Service Account Status page of the Mog Station.
No need to worry about which character your friend logs into first after clicking the link; the invitation and the campaign apply process applies to their entire given service account.

Where to Trade Those Precious Feathers?
Got feathers burning a hole in your virtual pocket? Both Gold and Silver Chocobo Feathers can be exchanged by speaking to the ever-helpful Calamity Salvager NPCs. You can find these vendors conveniently located in the main starting cities:
- Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (Coordinates: X:11.3, Y:14.3)
- Old Gridania (Coordinates: X:10.0, Y:8.4)
- Ul’dah – Steps of Thal (Coordinates: X:12.6, Y:13.1)
That’s the Final Fantasy XIV Callback Campaign for Ya!

So, what are you waiting for? Time to peruse those potentially dusty friend lists, send out those cheerful invitations (and maybe a gentle reminder to click the email link first!), and get ready for a grand Eorzean homecoming! It’s a fantastic opportunity to share the adventure again with old friends and snag some truly exclusive and awesome goodies in the process. Don’t let the May 9, 2025 deadline sneak up on you! Happy inviting, and may your Moogle Mailbox overflow with feathers!

What is this “Callback Campaign” thingy?
Think of it like a big party invitation from the game! π If you have a friend who used to play FFXIV but stopped for a long time (like, a really, really long time!), this campaign lets you send them a special message from inside the game. If they come back to play because of your message, both theyΒ andΒ you get some cool presents! It’s a special event just for a little while (right now until May 9th!), like a special kind of playdate time with bonus toys!
How do I send one of these special invites to my friend?
It’s like sending a magical in-game note! β¨ First, you need to be logged into FFXIV. Then, open up your list of friends or your Free Company (that’s like your in-game club) list. Find the friend who hasn’t been online. If they fit the rules (like, they haven’t played in ages and have the full game), you’ll see a special option when you click their name β like a little button that says “Invite Friend to Return.” Click that button, and the game sends a special email to their real-life email address! Easy peasy! Just remember, you can only send one of these email invitationsΒ per friendΒ each real-life day.
Can I invite ANY friend who’s offline? Or do they have to be a special kind of friend?
Ah, that’s the tricky part! Not every offline friend is anΒ eligible friendΒ for this special invite. π€ Your friend needs to meet a couple of rules: Rule number one is they have to have been gone for aΒ superΒ long time. Like, they haven’t been playing FFXIV for at leastΒ 90 whole daysΒ in a row (that’s like three months!). Rule number two is that they must have bought and registered theΒ realΒ FFXIV game to their Square Enix account before, not just played the free demo. So, they need to have taken a long breakΒ afterΒ owning the game. You can’t check these rules inside the game, so you might have to try inviting and see if they get the email, or maybe ask them outside the game how long it’s been since they last logged in!
My friend got the email saying IΒ invited back to play, yay! Do they get their free stuff right away when theyΒ return logΒ in?
Almost, but there’s aΒ veryΒ important step they can’t forget! π When your friend gets the email invitation from you, theyΒ MUST click a special link or button inside that emailΒ first. It might say something like “Redeem Gift” or “Accept Invitation.” They have to click thatΒ beforeΒ theyΒ return logΒ in to the game! Clicking that link is like unwrapping the present β it activates their free playtime and other goodies. If they just log in without clicking the email link, the game might not know they came back because ofΒ yourΒ invite, and they might miss their free treats! So, maybe send them a quick real-life message too, saying “Hey, check your email for my FFXIV invite and click the button before you log in!”
Okay, so what kind of cool gifts DOES my friend get if they click the link andΒ return logΒ in?
Oh, they get a nice welcome-back bundle to help them jump back into the fun! π
First, they getΒ up to SEVEN DAYS of free playtime! That’s like a whole week where they don’t need a subscription to explore Eorzea. (Psst, this is a little less free time than in some old, old campaigns, but still awesome!).
Second, they getΒ 99 Aetheryte Tickets. These are magic tickets that let them teleport to different places instantly without spending their in-game money (Gil). Super handy for getting around fast!
Third, they getΒ 10 Silver Chocobo Feathers. These are special shiny feathers they can trade to a friendly NPC (called the Calamity Salvager) for helpful gear and weapons as they level up. It’s like a quick catch-up kit to help them feel strong again!
And what about ME, the one who did the inviting? What gifts do I get?
You get goodies too, but there’s a little condition for yours! β¨ You get rewarded if your friend successfullyΒ invited back to playΒ returnsΒ and thenΒ decides they love the game so much they want to stay and buy a subscription within 90 days of coming back. When they do thatΒ resubscription magic, you’ll get a present delivered right to your in-game mailbox by a cute Moogle!
Your prize isΒ Gold Chocobo Feathers, which are extra rare and valuable! You getΒ 5 of these shiny feathersΒ for eachΒ eligible friends‘ account that returns via your invite and resubscribes.
What canΒ youΒ tradeΒ yourΒ Gold Feathers for? Only some of the coolest toys in the game! You can get awesome mounts (like riding a fierce Twintania, a fancy glowing Chocobo, or a cool wolf!), super rare dyes to make your clothes look amazing, or even more Aetheryte Tickets for yourself.
How many friends can I try to invite back using this campaign?
Each of your characters in the game can send out invites! Each character has a limit of sendingΒ up to five invitesΒ total. But here’s a neat trick: that limit of 5 invitesΒ resets about every 30 days! So, it’s like a monthly refresh. This means over the whole campaign period (April 11th to May 9th), you might be able to invite different groups of friends as your invite limit resets! You can have moreΒ players invitedΒ over time this way.
If I inviteΒ two or more friendsΒ and they all come back and subscribe, do I get 5 feathers total, or more?
Great question! You absolutely get more! You getΒ 5 Gold Chocobo FeathersΒ forΒ each unique friend’s Square Enix accountΒ that returns via your invite and resubscribes. So, if you invite Friend A and Friend B, and they both return and subscribe (on their separate accounts), you’ll get 5 feathers for Friend A and another 5 feathers for Friend B, for a total of 10 feathers! The key is that it’s linked to theirΒ given service account, not how many characters they have on it. So, yes, invitingΒ two or more friendsΒ who qualify can get you multiple bundles of feathers! Stack ’em up for those awesome mounts!
Okay, I have feathers! Both Silver (for my friend) and Gold (for me)! Where do we go to trade them for goodies?
Time to find the feather shopkeeper! ποΈ You need to find a friendly NPC called theΒ Calamity Salvager. They are like a special vendor who only takes Chocobo Feathers as payment.
You can find a Calamity Salvager in each of the three main starting cities:
-
In the big seaside city ofΒ Limsa Lominsa, look in the Upper Decks area (around the coordinates X:11.3, Y:14.3).
-
In the forest city ofΒ Old Gridania, they hang out near the main aetheryte plaza (around X:10.0, Y:8.4).
-
In the desert city ofΒ Ul’dah, head to the Steps of Thal area (around X:12.6, Y:13.1).
Just talk to them, pick the option to exchange feathers, and browse the list of awesome rewards!
My friend meets the rules, I sent the invite from myΒ company listΒ / friend list, but they say they aren’t getting the email or the rewards are not working. What could be wrong?
Hmm, that can be frustrating! Let’s troubleshoot like detectives! π΅οΈββοΈ
-
Did they check spam?Β The email goes to the address linked to theirΒ given service account, so sometimes it might hide in a spam or junk folder in their real-life email!
-
Did you hit the daily limit?Β Remember you can only sendΒ oneΒ emailΒ per friendΒ per real-life day, even if you click the button multiple times in game.
-
Did theyΒ reallyΒ meet the rules?Β Double-check with them! Did they genuinely stop playing forΒ 90+ days? Did they actually own the full game (is theirΒ character registeredΒ to a paid account, not just the free trial)? Sometimes people misremember!
-
Did they click the linkΒ beforeΒ logging in?Β This is the most common mistake! TheyΒ mustΒ click the special “Redeem Gift” link inside the emailΒ first. The free time and gifts only activateΒ afterΒ they click that link andΒ thenΒ log in. If they just logged in without clicking the link, they won’t get the gifts, and theΒ campaign applyΒ for your reward might not register either.
-
Is their mailbox full?Β ForΒ yourΒ reward (the Gold Feathers), they are sent via Moogle MailΒ afterΒ your friend subscribes. Make sure the FC leader’s mailbox isn’t full, or they won’t get your feather delivery! (This is forΒ yourΒ reward, not your friend’s initial gifts).
-
Does the Campaign Apply to their account?Β Confirming theΒ campaign applyΒ status works correctly requires them using that email link. Don’t worry about which character they log into; theΒ campaign applyΒ is for their wholeΒ given service account.
