FFXIV Phantom Weapons are the level 100 Dawntrail relic weapons, released in stages from patch 7.25 up to patch 7.55. You unlock the chain at level 100 by finishing the Dawntrail Main Scenario and the Occult Crescent questline up to Unfamiliar Territory, then speaking to Lydirceil in Phantom Village. The full grind runs through five stages and ends with an item level 795 weapon you can re-stat.
Unlock requirements for Phantom Weapons
To start, you need to be level 100 on a Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic and have completed the Dawntrail Main Scenario Quest, plus the Occult Crescent questline up to Unfamiliar Territory. You then pick up Arcane Artistry from Lydirceil in Phantom Village, followed by Forging the Phantasmal. For every relic after your first, you buy the weapon from Dodokkuli in Phantom Village instead of repeating the opening quests.

Arcanite and tomestone costs
Every Arcanite step costs 500 Allagan Tomestones of Mathematics each, so 3 Arcanite is 1,500 tomestones per weapon. That applies to Arcanite for the first stage, Waxing Arcanite for Umbrae, Waning Arcanite for Obscurum and Ecliptic Arcanite for Eclipticum. You buy them from Ermina in Phantom Village and hand them to Dodokkuli. Across the whole chain that is more than 4,500 tomestones.
Vendor and crafted items you need
The one-time steps ask for a mix of gil purchases, gemstone purchases and crafted or market board items:

- Ancestral Alloy Ingot, Ascendant Twin and Majestic Polish, crafted or bought on the market board

How to farm Phantom Dispellers
The Eclipticum step needs 100 each of three Phantom Dispeller types, 300 total. In Occult Crescent: North Horn, completed FATEs yield 3 dispellers of one type and completed Critical Encounters yield 10. Outside the zone, Phantom Dispeller Alpha comes from high-level dungeons at 13 per run, Beta from trials at 5 per run, and Gamma from normal raids at 5 per run.
Crystal Paste and the Knowledge Crystal
For In Pursuit of Perfection you need 1,200 Crystal Paste handed in over four turn-ins of 100, 200, 300 and 600, and you can hold all of it before turning any in. Crystal Paste drops from Expert, Level Cap Dungeon and Leveling roulettes, Critical Encounters in Occult Crescent: South Horn, Pilgrim's Traverse every 10 floors, The Merchant's Tale and Another Merchant's Tale, AAC Heavyweight raids on Normal or Savage, the Hell on Rails Extreme trial, and Dawntrail FATEs.
The final step fills a Knowledge Crystal with martial memories across eight categories. That means gold-ranked FATEs and specific enemy kills in the Dawntrail zones, every Dawntrail leveling dungeon, every level 100 dungeon, every Dawntrail normal trial except The Windward Wilds, all three Echoes of Vana'diel alliance raids, and the normal Arcadion raids from Light-heavyweight through Heavyweight. The Windurst: The Third Walk run is one of those alliance raids, so it is part of the checklist.
Stats, glamour and replicas
On the finished Occultum you pick two attributes at 447 and a third at 108, choosing from Critical Hit, Determination and two job-dependent options among Direct Hit Rate, Spell Speed, Skill Speed, Tenacity and Piety. You can change the allocation later by speaking to Brigid in Phantom Village and spending an Ecliptic Arcanite. That flexibility, plus a slightly higher total attribute pool, makes the Occultum the strongest level 100 weapon, ahead of the Grand Champion's and Palazzo Diamond weapons at the same item level. Replica versions of the Penumbrae, Umbrae, Obscurum, Eclipticum and Occultum are free from the Expedition Metallurgist in Phantom Village once you own the matching weapon, and the All Too Fleeting quest rewards the Phantom Philleter culinarian glamour tool.
A practical grind plan
Front-load the repeatable work: run roulettes and Dawntrail FATEs while you still need Demiatma, Crystal Paste and dispellers, since those activities feed several steps at once. Bank your Allagan Tomestones of Mathematics early, because 1,500 tomestones are needed at four separate Arcanite steps. Save the Knowledge Crystal checklist for last and treat it as a tour of Dawntrail content, since it touches dungeons, trials, alliance raids and Arcadion raids you may already have cleared.
