FFXIV Magitek Repair Materials are not sold by any vendor — you craft them yourself from level 50 master recipes available to all eight crafting jobs. Their only use is repairing and maintaining the components of Free Company airships and submersibles, which lose condition as they explore. You need the materials in your own inventory to carry out those repairs.

What Magitek Repair Materials are used for

Magitek Repair Materials are described in-game as various materials used in the repair and maintenance of large-hulled airships and submersibles. Airship and submersible components lose condition with each exploration, in the same way gear does for players. To repair them, the materials must be in your inventory, and the higher the tier of the component, the more materials you need. Components do not have to be repaired until their condition reaches 0%.

How to get Magitek Repair Materials

You cannot buy them. The Eorzea Database lists Magitek Repair Materials as not available for purchase, and they sell for 10 gil. Instead, you craft them from master recipes unlocked at level 50 on every crafting job:

  • Carpenter — Master Carpenter I
  • Blacksmith — Master Blacksmith I
  • Armorer — Master Armorer I
  • Goldsmith — Master Goldsmith I
  • Leatherworker — Master Leatherworker I
  • Weaver — Master Weaver I
  • Alchemist — Master Alchemist I
  • Culinarian — Master Culinarian I

Each recipe yields 1 Magitek Repair Materials.

Recipe requirements and ingredients

The recipes sit at level 50 ★★ with a durability of 80, difficulty 250 and maximum quality 2500. They require 347 Craftsmanship to attempt, and Quick Synthesis needs 391 Craftsmanship. High Quality is unavailable on these crafts.

The Blacksmith recipe, Master Blacksmith I, uses 5 Grade 6 Dark Matter, 1 Dark Matter Cluster, 5 Fire Crystal and 5 Earth Crystal.

Where to buy the ingredients

Grade 6 Dark Matter is stocked by merchants across Eorzea, including the Merchant & Mender in Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:3.2 Y:12.8), Unsynrael in Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:6.0 Y:12.3), Alaric in Old Gridania (X:14.3 Y:8.8), Haneko Burneko at The Waking Sands (X:6.2 Y:4.9) and Nanabe in Ul’dah – Steps of Thal (X:14.2 Y:11.0). Apartment Merchants in the Topmast, Lily Hills, Sultana’s Breath and Ingleside lobbies also carry it. Anna, Diana and Eilonwy in The Firmament and Frine in The Pillars sell it, as do the Merchant & Mender vendors in The Diadem. Dark Matter Cluster, however, is not available for purchase from any vendor.
