Tarkov PvE Prestige arrived with patch 1.2.0.0 on October 6, 2026, and gives PvE players six levels of optional character resets. Prestige 1 asks for character level 15 and 5,000,000 roubles in your stash, with no task, hideout or skill gate. It resets your PvE Zone progression, but keeps part of your skills and mastery, an 8×3 transfer grid of items, and adds permanent rewards.
Escape from Tarkov is an extraction shooter where every raid carries real risk and progression is deliberately slow, so a reset is a big decision for any profile.
Tarkov PvE Prestige requirements
Prestige 1 requires level 15 and 5,000,000 roubles in the stash. Level 15 is 177,337 XP from level 1, roughly a fifth of the 836,066 XP that PvP Prestige 1 needs at level 25.
Higher levels get more demanding. In the game data, Prestige 2 needs level 25, Strength 10, Endurance 10, Charisma 7, three hideout zones and 10 million roubles. Prestige 3 asks for 15 million roubles.
The patch notes give no single numerical checklist for all six levels, so open the in-game Prestige screen for the objectives of the level you are attempting.
What resets and what carries over
| Manual PvE reset | PvE Prestige 1 | |
| Requirements | Nothing; one reset every three weeks | Level 15 and 5,000,000 roubles |
| Level, tasks, inventory, trader reputation | Reset | Reset, in PvE Zone only |
| Skills and weapon mastery | Reset completely | Part kept |
| Items | All gone | What fits in an 8×3 transfer grid |
| Rewards | None | Prestige 1 rewards |
A manual PvE reset clears your tasks, level, skills and weapon mastery, inventory and trader reputation, and keeps only your earned achievements. Prestige resets the same progression but only in PvE Zone, and it does not touch your PvP or seasonal characters.
Battlestate puts the retained skill and mastery ceiling at 50%, and the amount depends on the allowances attached to your Prestige level. The PvE game data sets 10% at Prestige 1, rising to 50% at Prestige 5 and 6. One player measured about 10% retention on metabolism after Prestiging.
The transfer grid at Prestige 1 is 8×3 and accepts only some item types. Keys cannot go in it. Battle pass documents can be carried across, and you should claim any Black Division gear crate from your mailbox after Prestiging, because an unclaimed crate is lost.
Tarkov PvE Prestige rewards
Prestige rewards stay permanently attached to the PvE character, and Battlestate names seven reward categories that can be unlocked in PvE and used across modes: TarCoins, unique dogtags, Shooting Range targets, Hideout posters, melee weapons, Tarko figurines and a unique Gamma secure container.
The developer preview highlighted the NKVD Finka and Akula melee variants. Prestige 1 rewards include the Path poster and a Prestige 1 dogtag that work in every mode, plus an armband, gestures, a hideout floor, a mannequin pose and one Charisma level on your PvE character.
The written patch notes give no trustworthy level-by-level allocation of those items, so check the rewards for your next Prestige level before resetting. Only some Prestige rewards are confirmed to work across modes, so check the individual reward description if you intend to use it outside PvE.
Does Prestige affect Tarkov Arena?
No. Each PvE Prestige level resets profile progression only in PvE Zone, and your Arena character is not wiped when you Prestige a PvE profile.
Should you reset your PvE character?
If your PvE profile has not been reset since the 1.0 release, Prestige 1 is the better deal: both routes open the storyline and events, but only Prestige keeps a share of your skills and mastery, an 8×3 transfer grid and its rewards. Battlestate says those players can use the first Prestige to gain access to content introduced since version 1.0, including the storyline, the Icebreaker chapter and future events.
If you are midway through a difficult quest, saving for an expensive Hideout zone or pushing a skill threshold, finishing that first may be more appealing. If you are happy with your current progression, you can keep playing.
If you want the rewards without the reset work, a Tarkov Prestige Leveling Boost covers the Prestige grind for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Prestige reset your skills in Tarkov PvE?
Yes, but you keep part of them. Battlestate's notes give a ceiling of up to 50% of skills and weapon mastery, while the game data sets 10% at Prestige 1.
Can you reset your PvE profile by hand instead?
Yes. Battlestate's website lets you reset your PvE profile, your PvP profile or both from your account, once every three weeks, and you should close the game and launcher first.
