To complete The Glowing Shard in WoW Forever, speak to Sputtervalve in Ratchet, then take the shard to Falla Sagewind at her camp above Wailing Caverns. You start the quest from an item dropped by Mutanus the Devourer inside the dungeon.
Quest level and requirements
The quest log lists this as a level 26 dungeon quest, but you can accept it at level 15; both factions can complete it, and it cannot be shared.

How to start The Glowing Shard
Unlock Mutanus the Devourer

- Defeat the four Druid of the Fang bosses: Lady Anacondra, Lord Cobrahn, Lord Pythas and Lord Serpentis.
- Return to the Disciple of Naralex at the dungeon entrance and use his dialogue to begin the Naralex rescue escort.
- Escort him to the event's destination, defeat two enemy waves, then fight Mutanus.
- Loot the Glowing Shard and use it to accept the quest; its drop chance is 65.42%, and every party member can loot one when it drops.
We'd clear the dungeon before starting the escort to make that event easier.
Mutanus fight mechanics
- Thundercrack: Stuns nearby players for two seconds.
- Terrify: Fears players for four seconds.
- Naralex's Nightmare: Can mind-control a player or put them to sleep.
Ratchet conversation and turn-in route
Speak to Sputtervalve
Find Sputtervalve, the goblin near Ratchet's flight master. With the quest active, select his dialogue about the shard; he points you toward the druid Falla Sagewind.
Reach the ridge above Wailing Caverns
For Horde characters, the route can use a flight to The Crossroads, followed by travel southwest up the ridge overlooking the Wailing Caverns oasis. Devrak, the flight master at The Crossroads, is Horde and stands at approximately 51.5, 30.3 in The Barrens.
For Alliance characters, approach the destination overland: Falla's tent is on the mountain ridge above the oasis.
Hand the shard to Falla Sagewind
Speak to Falla inside her tent to finish the delivery. The October 23 beta log places the hand-in NPC, Creature #8418, at 48.2, 32.8 in The Barrens.
Quest reward and follow-up
Completing the quest awards 5,150 experience. You can then accept In Nightmares from Falla Sagewind.
