To obtain the Highlord’s Golden Charger, you must complete a short but memorable questline that becomes available after finishing Breaching the Tomb with your Paladin. The chain begins with Champion Cyssa Dawnrose on the Broken Shore and unfolds as follows:

Worthy of the Title – Travel to your Order Hall.
Preparations Underway – Purchase or craft a Stonehide Leather Barding (crafted by Leatherworkers using 25 × Stonehide Leather).
The Hammer of Dalaran – Visit Alard Schmied in Dalaran.
A Few Things First – Bring him 25 × Leystone Ore and 1 × Suramarian Sapphire (can be purchased from a Sundries Merchant in Suramar for 500 Ancient Mana; use your Masquerade buff to interact).
Leather to Legendary – Watch the dialogue, collect the Plated Barding from the anvil, and return to your Order Hall.
Stirring in the Shadows – Use your Order Hall exit to Eastern Plaguelands and head to Stratholme. Speak with Defender Sterius to begin the scenario. Defeat the minibosses and rescue the trapped paladins:
- /way 66.16 24.62 Rotmouth
- /way 71.78 46.42 Osseine
- /way 58.93 44.57 Pestulon
- Afterward, speak with Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker and click the Blessed Mount Barding.
Enter the final chamber and defeat Raemien the Soultaker. Once the battle is complete, return to your Order Hall with Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker to finish the quest.

Upon turning in the final quest, the Highlord’s Golden Charger will automatically be added to your mount collection.

You can also unlock additional color variants by earning the Power Ascended achievement for each artifact weapon:
