WoW Forever campfire buffs come from profession-made objects around a campsite; the Basic Campfire itself supplies cooking access and space for those objects. If you are missing a bonus, check the resting requirement, the object's class-buff exclusion and, for rested XP, your existing reserve.
How to build and use a campsite
- Learn Cooking from a trainer, then learn the Basic Campfire Kit at Cooking skill 1.
- Buy Simple Wood from a trade or general goods vendor and craft the kit through your Cooking recipes; each kit uses 1 Simple Wood.
- Use the kit from your bags to create the campsite. In patch 1.68.1, you must place it outdoors, outside capital cities and at least 100 yards from another campfire.
- Have nearby crafters contribute profession objects: each person can add one, provided they have the required profession skill.
- Sit near the fire and its objects, or craft nearby, for at least one minute to receive their benefits. The resulting Camp Benefits buff combines the campsite's bonuses and lasts one hour.

You can use another person's campsite without joining their group, paying a fee or having the professions that supplied its objects. Prepared Basic Campfire Kits stack in one bag slot and can be handed to other people.
The shared pause feels like a worthwhile social reward to some players, who defend the effort involved in gathering around a fire.
Choose a safe spot: resting does not protect you from danger, including hostile players on a PvP ruleset.
Campfire quests and profession requirements
The Great Outdoors introduces camping around character level 5: find the quest giver by a tent and fire after leaving your starting area, then use /sit at that fire. The follow-up directs you to the nearest town to train Cooking.
Camping 101 quests teach your trained professions' initial camp objects when you turn them in to the relevant trainers; professions learned later get their introduction then. These introductory quests are optional for receiving camp benefits, and the quest givers' fires supply the Camp Tent's rested-XP effect.
Starter profession objects require skill 20, with their recipes available through starting-zone quests or profession trainers. Higher-tier objects require skill 140 or 300 and use Blueprints; advanced camping recipes come from dungeon and raid drops.
Players may pick two main professions and also take the trio of secondary ones: Cooking, Fishing, and First Aid. Open the Professions tab with K to check recipes, Blueprints, ingredients and whether a craft can raise your skill.
The WoW Forever professions guide covers the wider profession progression behind these camp objects. The WoW Forever Professions service handles profession leveling for you.
WoW Forever campfire buffs by profession
These starter camp features require profession skill 20; values shown as ranges scale with your character's level.
| Profession and object | Benefit | Class buff it excludes |
| Alchemy — Mana Well | Regenerates 10–29 mana every 5 seconds. | Blessing of Wisdom. |
| Blacksmithing — Sharpening Wheel | Adds 6–34 Strength. | Strength of Earth Totem. |
| Enchanting — Enchanted Lute | Adds 28–260 Armor, 0–13 to all stats and 0–22 to all resistances. | Mark of the Wild. |
| Herbalism — Incense Candle | Adds 2–25 Intellect. | Arcane Intellect. |
| Mining — Lodestone | Increases melee Attack Power. | Blessing of Might. |
| Skinning — Camp Chair | Adds 2% critical strike chance to spells and attacks. | Moonkin Aura. |
| Tailoring — Faction Banner | Adds 14–32 Spirit to nearby members of your faction. | Divine Spirit. |
| First Aid — First Aid Kit | Adds 3–56 Stamina. | Power Word: Fortitude. |
| Fishing — Fishing Bowl | Increases stats by 8%. | Blessing of Kings. |
Leatherworking's Camp Tent tops up rested experience to 5% of a character level, rather than adding an unrestricted XP multiplier. Engineering's Reagent Bot instead provides a vendor selling class reagents and profession supplies to campsite visitors.
Pick objects that fill gaps in your existing buffs: the camp effects in the table cannot stack with their listed class equivalents.
The bonuses feel minor and easy to skip to a few players, who still enjoy the cozy stop. Their strength makes leveling feel dependent on them to others, who want the system removed because it feels less Classic.

Materials for starter camp items
Use this checklist before leaving town.
| Primary profession object | Materials per craft |
| Mana Well | 1 Peacebloom, 1 Empty Vial. |
| Sharpening Wheel | 1 Rough Stone, 1 Copper Bar. |
| Enchanted Lute | 1 Simple Wood, 1 Strange Dust. |
| Reagent Bot | 1 Handful of Copper Bolts, 1 Copper Tube. |
| Incense Candle | 1 Peacebloom, 1 Silverleaf. |
| Camp Tent | 5 Light Leather. |
| Lodestone | 1 Rough Stone, 1 Copper Bar. |
| Camp Chair | 3 Light Leather, 2 Simple Wood. |
| Faction Banner | 1 Bolt of Linen Cloth, 1 Coarse Thread. |
| Secondary profession object | Materials per craft |
| First Aid Kit | 3 Linen Bandage, 1 Refreshing Spring Water. |
| Fish Bowl | 1 Raw Brilliant Smallfish, 1 Empty Vial. |
Camp items can be traded, but the person deploying one still needs its profession requirement. Coordinate before crafting extras.
Campfire sizes and shared cooldown
Cooking determines the campfire's capacity, with upgraded fires increasing the number of features that nearby contributors can place.
| Campfire kit | Object capacity | Crafting material |
| Basic | 3 features. | 1 Simple Wood. |
| Journeyman | 5 features. | 1 Star Wood. |
| Expert | 10 features. | 1 Thick Logs. |
The Journeyman recipe is learned at Cooking 90, with a use requirement of 140; Expert is learned at 200, with a use requirement of 220. Blueprint: Journeyman Campfire drops from Lord Serpentis in Wailing Caverns.
Deploying a profession camp feature puts all your camp features on a shared one-hour cooldown, so a second profession does not let you immediately contribute a second object.
Mana Well's placed effect lasts 15 minutes in client build 1.60.1.70707; its deployment cooldown is still one hour. Keep the object's lifetime separate from the benefit you collect by resting.
The Field Guide Legacy perk has three ranks, each reducing the feature-placement cooldown by 8%; Permanence has two ranks and extends benefits received from camp resting by 50%.
The WoW Forever Cooking guide covers campfire progression alongside Cooking recipes.
Higher-tier camp items and crafting stations
To deploy an advanced station, reach its profession requirement, learn the Blueprint, craft the item and use it beside a campfire; visitors can use a station someone else has placed.
Crafting profession upgrades
| Profession | Skill 140 object | Skill 300 object |
| Alchemy | Fermenter enables certain reagent recipes. | Alchemy Laboratory supports recipes requiring a lab. |
| Blacksmithing | Anvil provides a usable anvil. | Master Forge supports recipes requiring that forge. |
| Enchanting | Arcane Salvager improves disenchanting efficiency. | Arcane Forge supports recipes requiring that station. |
| Leatherworking | Tanning Rack supports reagent creation and Leatherworking recipes. | Sewing Machine supports recipes requiring it. |
| Tailoring | Spinning Wheel supports reagent creation and Tailoring recipes. | Loom supports recipes requiring it. |
For these five professions, both listed upgrades retain the starter object's benefit and may replace that starter object at the camp. A Master Forge, for example, preserves the Sharpening Wheel's Strength effect.
Engineering: Repair Bot and Anarchist's Workbench
Repair Bot requires Engineering 140 and lets nearby users buy reagents and repair gear. Craft it with 2 Whirring Bronze Gizmo, 1 Bronze Tube and 1 Heavy Leather.
Anarchist's Workbench requires Engineering 300 and functions as a station for recipes that require it. Its craft takes 10 seconds, uses an Arclight Spanner as a tool, consumes 1 Essence of Anarchy and 2 Thorium Widget, and produces two workbenches. Deployment requires a nearby campfire and shares the one-hour camp-feature cooldown.
Gathering profession upgrades
| Profession | Skill 140 object | Skill 300 object |
| Herbalism | Greenhouse grows herbs from planted seeds. | Seed Hybridizer multiplies seeds or combines them into rarer varieties. |
| Mining | Rock Garden generates a common mining node over time. | Molten Foundry is needed for Smelt Heavy Thorium. |
| Skinning | Field Guide is a readable book that grants Track Beasts. | Trapper's Workbench contains one trap. |
These upgrades retain their profession's initial camp benefit and can replace the corresponding starter object.
Secondary profession upgrades
| Profession | Skill 140 object | Skill 300 object |
| Cooking | Cookie's Feast supplies Stamina food to the camp. | Iron Oven supports the most advanced Cooking recipes. |
| First Aid | Toxin Study supplies healing potions and anti-venom. | Plague Doctor's Laboratory supplies healing potions and poultices. |
| Fishing | Fishing Rack enables uncommon catches for one hour and supplies Fishing lures. | Fishing Hut enables rare catches for one hour and supplies Fishing lures. |
Fishing Rack and Fishing Hut retain the starter bowl's stat benefit and can replace it.
Cookie's Feast requires 2 Mystery Meat, 1 Heavy Kodo Meat and 1 Soothing Spices; Iron Oven requires 10 Simple Flour, 5 Refreshing Spring Water and 4 Soothing Spices.

| Rock Garden | Relic Guardian — Excavation Site: Wetlands. |
| Field Guide | Lady Anacondra — Wailing Caverns. |

| Toxin Study | Commander Springvale — Shadowfang Keep. |
| Fishing Rack | Gelihast — Blackfathom Deeps. |
Campfire buffs not working: what to check
Start with the relevant requirement rather than replacing your camp immediately.
- No benefit after stopping: check that an object supplies the bonus you want and let the full rest or crafting period finish.
- A stat bonus is missing: compare your buff bar with the class-buff exclusions above before choosing another object.
- You cannot place an object: check its profession requirement, available camp slots and your shared deployment cooldown.
- You cannot place the fire: check the outdoor, city and spacing restrictions for your build.
- A banner helps someone else: check faction membership; its Spirit benefit applies to the contributor's faction.
Camp Tent XP not appearing
The tent has no effect when your rested-XP reserve already exceeds its 5%-of-a-level target. Its rested-XP benefit is available once per hour, with a debuff preventing another application during that interval.
One creator received no additional rested XP while already at the beta's level-30 cap.
Buffs disappearing after resting
Missing benefits after a timer reset, death or a layer change are frustrating experiences reported by players who encountered them.
Check the remaining duration and your current effects before deciding whether to rest again.
