WoW Forever respec cost was 1 silver under the temporary beta discount. Changing your talent allocation requires a paid reset through your class trainer, while dual spec will be available at launch.
Temporary beta respec pricing
The beta discount depended on how recently you had reset your talents.
| Time since your previous beta reset | Price behavior |
| Less than 1 hour | Another reset cost more than the discounted rate. |
| A full hour | The price returned to the discounted rate. |
Treat the beta rate as a testing price when planning your launch budget: the discount was temporary. Read the amount in the trainer's confirmation window before accepting a reset.
A reset at level 60 is part of some players' plan to use one build while leveling, because they expect changing it afterward to be affordable. The cost of switching talents at that level looks low enough to pose little burden to a few others.
Where and how to reset talents
Your respec location is your own class trainer in a friendly major city; a city guard can mark the trainer on your map. Before you travel, confirm that the destination has a trainer for your class, because profession and pet trainers are unable to reset your class talents.
Save your replacement build before making the trip. For a leveling example, see our Combat Rogue talent and rotation guide.
- Speak to the trainer and select the dialogue for unlearning class talents.
- Check the displayed fee, then accept the payment to reset your build.
- Open the talent window and allocate the returned points, following the requirements within the tree.
- Review the choices before applying them; fixing an incorrectly assigned point requires another reset.
Check your action bars and keybindings, then try the build before joining a group. If a calculator differs from the game, follow the talent requirements and tooltips displayed in-game.
If the reset dialogue is missing, verify that you have spent class talent points and are speaking to the correct trainer.

Dual spec at launch and talent changes
You unlock Dual Specialization at level 40, separately from resetting your current talent allocation. It lets you keep alternate builds, such as Restoration and Balance for a Druid, rather than repeatedly rebuilding one allocation.
Talents remain a commitment: you cannot freely reassign them out in the world, and the design avoids expecting a different allocation for every encounter. Switching between saved specializations and editing the talents within a build are different choices.
A third specialization remains a possibility for the future, while the planned system retains the dual-spec approach rather than Retail-style talent loadouts.
Legacy perk resets
Class trainers provide a separate dialogue choice for resetting Legacy perks, with its own payment confirmation. Cancel a confirmation that mentions Legacy if you meant to change your class build.
Legacy Points are shared across your account, but you can allocate them differently on each character. Keep that allocation separate from your class-talent planning.
