WoW Forever Legacy Points Guide
WoW Forever has introduced the Legacy system, making your in-game progression more meaningful and rewarding. You can find Challenges in different areas of the game, and completing them rewards you with Legacy Points. You can spend these points on perks that improve your character’s professions, exploration, or farming.

Types of Legacy Challenges
Legacy Challenges can be found across many types of content in WoW Forever. Most don’t require anything extraordinary, but completing them all takes a lot of time and grinding, often across more than one character. Below, we will take a closer look at each type of Legacy Challenge and what you can expect from them.
Classes Challenges
Class Challenges cover everything related to character leveling. There are 3 Challenge levels:
- Novice – reach level 25;
- Experienced – reach level 45;
- Master – reach level 60.
Each class has its own Challenges, so to earn all 27 Legacy Points in this category, you need to reach the maximum level in all 9 classes.
Tradeskills Challenges
Tradeskill Challenges are related to leveling professions. Challenges are available for only 6 professions, all of which are primary crafting professions:
- Alchemy
- Blacksmithing
- Enchanting
- Engineering
- Leatherworking
- Tailoring
The Challenges are divided into 3 levels:
- Journeyman – reach skill level 150;
- Expert – reach skill level 225;
- Artisan – reach skill level 300.
You can earn a total of 18 Legacy Points from this category, and you will need at least 3 characters to obtain them all. However, 5 characters will likely be optimal, since only Enchanting and Tailoring pair well with each other. For the other professions, it is better to choose a gathering profession to support them.
Dungeons Challenges
As the name suggests, all 3 Challenges in this category involve completing Dungeons. Dungeons are divided by level, so you can earn points from Dungeon Challenges while leveling. Here is how the Dungeons are divided between the Challenges:
- Novice Spelunker – Ragefire Chasm or Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, Wailing Caverns, The Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep, Excavation Site: Wetlands.
- Experienced Spelunker – City of Dalaran, Blackfathom Deeps, Gnomeregan, The Drowned City, Scarlet Monastery: Graveyard, Scarlet Monastery: Library, Scarlet Monastery: Armory, Scarlet Monastery: Cathedral, Razorfen Kraul, Krol’dok Stronghold.
- Master Spelunker – Razorfen Downs, Uldaman, Zul’Farrak, Maraudon, Alcaz Prison, The Temple of Atal’Hakkar, Blackrock Depths, Blackmaw Hold, Lower Blackrock Spire, Upper Blackrock Spire, Scholomance, Stratholme: Live, Stratholme: Dead, Dire Maul: East, Dire Maul: North, Dire Maul: West, The Shaper’s Terrace.
Completing these Challenges while leveling is a great option. They add variety to the leveling process and let you pick up useful gear along the way. This is especially valuable for the Master Spelunker Challenge, as it includes several pre-raid items.
Raid Challenges
Raid Challenges are available only at max level and require you to complete the Phase 1 Raids in WoW Forever:
- Conqueror of the Wilds — defeat all bosses in the Hyjal Summit raid;
- Conqueror of the Deeps — defeat all bosses in the Barrow Deeps raid;
- Conqueror of the Lair — defeat Onyxia in Onyxia’s Lair.
It is not yet known how this category will change over time, but there are two possible scenarios. It is unlikely that the existing Challenges will be replaced with new ones every phase. More likely, the list will include new Challenges tied to future Raids. Adding new Challenges would help keep players interested in all available Raids.
PvP Challenges
PvP Challenges have 3 directions and are considered the most difficult and time-consuming compared to the other categories:
- PvP Ranking – Reach Ranks 3, 7, 10, 13, or 14 in rated Battlegrounds.
- PvP Reputations – In the Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin, Warsong Gulch, and Darkspear Islands Battlegrounds, you can support your faction. The Challenges require you to reach Exalted reputation with the corresponding factions.
- Season Journey – Complete Weeks 4, 7, and 10 of the Field of Honor Journey.
You can earn up to 12 Legacy Points from this category, but the process is highly skill-dependent. If you need help completing these Challenges, you can find a suitable service on the Epiccarry website.
Adventure Challenges
Adventure Challenges are focused on questing and exploration, with only 2 Challenges available in this category:
- Lord Valthalak Laid to Rest — Complete the questline beginning with An Earnest Proposition and ending with Saving the Best for Last.
- Explorer — Have a character with the Explore Azeroth achievement.
These Challenges aren’t particularly difficult, but they take a lot of time, so it is best to start working on them while leveling.
Legacy Perks in WoW Forever
After completing Challenges, you can spend your Legacy Points on Legacy Perks from three different branches:
- Professions – Skill-ups, gathering, and gold.
- Adventure – Leveling and getting around.
- Resourcefulness – Upkeep, buffs, reputation, and Honor.
In the WoW Forever Beta, you can reset your selected Perks by talking to your class trainer for 10 gold. It is not confirmed yet, but each reset may cost more than the last after release. Still, you can choose Perks that help with leveling first, then switch to ones that are more useful for endgame content.
Collectibles from the Legacy System
After earning a certain number of Legacy Points, you can claim collectible rewards from Innkeeper Wiley in Ratchet. The available rewards are:
- Holstered Replica Ironforge Air Rifle – 15 points
- Spectral Bear Cub – 25 points
- Spectral Bear Tabard – 40 points
- Reins of the Spectral Bear – 55 points
