TBC Alchemy Leveling Guide 1-375: Anniversary Realms

To level TBC Alchemy from 1 to 375 on Anniversary realms, follow a Classic potion route to 300, train Master Alchemy in Outland, then craft Outland elixirs and mana potions to 375. Train Journeyman at level 10, Expert at level 20 and Artisan at level 35 before the matching brackets, and buy the two Bind-on-Pickup vendor recipes when you reach them. Required Materials

Yellow recipes do not always grant a skill point, so these counts are a baseline and you may need more. You can gather these herbs yourself rather than buy every reagent, which saves the most gold when you farm your own materials.

This TBC Alchemy guide's shopping list uses these counts, with ranges where yellow recipes can force extra crafts.

Alchemy Trainers

Apprentice through Artisan Alchemy are available from capital-city trainers, and you no longer need to visit different trainers for Journeyman, Expert and Artisan.

• Horde Classic trainers: Yelmak in Orgrimmar, Doctor Herbert Halsey in Undercity, Bena Winterhoof in Thunder Bluff and Camberon in Silvermoon City.
• Alliance Classic trainers: Tally Berryfizz in Ironforge, Lilyssia Nightbreeze in Stormwind City, Ainethil in Darnassus and Lucc in The Exodar.
• Outland Master trainers: Alchemist Gribble at Honor Hold for Alliance, Apothecary Antonivich at Thrallmar for Horde, and Lorokeem in Shattrath City for both factions.

Classic Leveling Path (1–300)

Visit your trainer before each rank and keep the Minor Healing Potions for the next step. The route below is the 1–300 path.

At 185, you can switch to Elixir of Greater Defense at 195 instead of staying on Elixir of Agility, based on material prices. At 239, a Philosopher's Stone can replace one Superior Healing Potion, and at 235 you can use Elixir of Greater Intellect if Blindweed is cheaper than Sungrass. If Gromsblood is expensive, Elixir of Greater Agility can carry you to 270. From 295 to 300, Purification Potion needs only five guaranteed crafts and can replace Major Healing Potion.

Outland Leveling Path (300–375)

Learn Master Alchemy from an Outland trainer, then switch to Imbued Vials for the rest of the route.

At 300–315, you can choose Volatile Healing Potion, Adept's Elixir or Onslaught Elixir based on which herbs are cheapest on your realm. At 330–335, Mad Alchemist's Potion is an option if you have a large stock of Ragveil.

At 355–375, Elixir of Major Shadow Power with Ancient Lichen and Nightmare Vine is an alternative; its recipe comes from Nakodu in Shattrath and requires Lower City Revered. Elixir of Major Agility with Dreaming Glory and Terocone, or Fel Strength Elixir with Felweed and Ancient Lichen, can also cover the final stretch.

Vendor Recipes

Both vendor recipes cost 5 gold each and are Bind on Pickup, so you must buy them yourself. Super Mana Potion trains at 340 and Major Dreamless Sleep Potion trains at 350.

Alchemy Specializations

At level 68 and 325 Alchemy skill, you can take one specialization questline; a specialization produces around 17% more crafted items on average.

Potion Master

Take Master of Potions from Lauranna Thar'well at Cenarion Refuge in Zangarmarsh. Bring her the Botanist's Field Guide from High Botanist Freywinn in The Botanica, 5 Super Healing Potions, 5 Super Mana Potions and 5 Major Dreamless Sleep Potions. This is the cheapest and easiest specialization quest.

Elixir Master

Accept Master of Elixirs, then speak to Lorokeem in Shattrath. Bring 10 Essence of Infinity from Rift Keepers and Rift Lords in The Black Morass, 5 Elixir of Major Defense made with 15 Ancient Lichen, 5 Terocone and 5 Imbued Vial, 5 Elixir of Mastery made with 15 Terocone, 5 Felweed and 5 Imbued Vial, and 5 Elixir of Major Agility made with 5 Terocone, 10 Felweed and 5 Imbued Vial. Elixir Master boosts both elixirs and flasks.

Transmutation Master

Speak to Zarevhi at the Stormspire in Netherstorm and bring 4 Primal Might. Each Primal Might uses 4 Primal Earth, 4 Primal Water, 4 Primal Air, 4 Primal Fire and 4 Primal Mana, and the transmute has a 20-hour cooldown. This is the most expensive specialization because those primals are costly.

Switching Specializations

Pay 150 gold to the NPC who gave your current specialization to unlearn it, then learn another specialization for free from its trainer. Choosing Elixir Master first and paying 150 gold is cheaper than making 4 Primal Might for Transmutation Master.

Alternative Recipes and Shortcuts

• 140–155: Make Fire Oil from Firefin Snapper if Stranglekelp is expensive, or keep making Healing Potions.
• 185–210: When Goldthorn is missing, craft Mana Potion or Lesser Invisibility Potion until roughly 195; without any Goldthorn, Nature Protection Potion handles 190–215, though its recipe comes from a limited-supply vendor.
• 300–315: Pick one of Volatile Healing Potion, Adept's Elixir or Onslaught Elixir and craft it around 15 times.
• 330–335: Mad Alchemist's Potion is a side option when Ragveil is cheap and plentiful.
• 355–375: Elixir of Major Shadow Power is more sellable than Major Dreamless Sleep Potion if you have the Lower City reputation for the recipe.

What Leveling Alchemy Costs on Anniversary Realms

The auction-house scan prices a 1-375 route step by step. At those scan prices, the full route costs 631g in materials on US TBC Anniversary realms and 801g on EU realms. The most expensive US steps are 325-350 Super Healing Potion at 179g, 185-265 Elixir of Detect Undead at 107g and 350-375 Major Dreamless Sleep Potion at 86g 3s. On EU, the top steps are 325-350 Super Healing Potion at 267g, 185-265 Elixir of Detect Undead at 167g and 300-325 Volatile Healing Potion at 97g 28s.

Crafts are expected from the game client's skill colours, and a guide's own count may be higher or lower.

Costs are what materials bought at the auction house cost at the US scan of October 30, 2026 and EU scan of October 31, 2026; gathering materials yourself costs no gold, and prices differ by realm. What an earlier step already made is used first and not bought again.

Netherbloom is the costliest material at 130g for 62 on US and 199g for 62 on EU, ahead of Arthas' Tears at 102g and 163g for 88 and Felweed at 72g 35s and 111g for 62.

The route's Superior Mana Potion sells for 78s 87c each on US, with 14 sold a day, and Super Healing Potion sells for 67s 73c each, with 306 sold a day. On EU, Superior Mana Potion sells for 85s 54c each with 22 sold a day, Major Dreamless Sleep Potion for 75s 95c each with 7 sold a day, and Super Healing Potion for 64s 83c each with 330 sold a day.
