TBC Enchanting Guide 1-375

Level TBC Enchanting from 1 to 375 by crafting each runed rod as it unlocks and repeating cheap dust enchants, then moving to Outland at 300 for Arcane Dust recipes and the final ring enchants. Train 1-300 in any capital city and learn Master Enchanting in Hellfire Peninsula.

Materials to stock

Skill-ups can vary on yellow or green recipes, so treat these as rough totals and buy a small buffer.

• Rods: 1 Copper Rod, 1 Silver Rod, 1 Golden Rod, 1 Truesilver Rod, 1 Arcanite Rod, 1 Fel Iron Rod, and 1 Adamantite Rod.
• Dusts: roughly 137 Strange Dust, 112 Soul Dust, 195 Vision Dust, 251 Dream Dust, 322 Illusion Dust, and 309 Arcane Dust.
• Essences: 1 Lesser Magic Essence, 12 Greater Magic Essence, 25 Lesser Astral Essence, 2 Greater Astral Essence, 2 Greater Mystic Essence, 5 Lesser Nether Essence, 8 Greater Eternal Essence, and 102 Greater Planar Essence.
• Shards and gems: 1 Iridescent Pearl, 1 Black Pearl, 1 Golden Pearl, 8 Large Brilliant Shard, 32 Large Prismatic Shard, and 1 Primal Might.
• Reagents and vials: 9 Simple Wood, 17 Crystal Vial, 15 Imbued Vial, 34 Purple Lotus, and 15 Nightmare Vine.

Some rod bases, including Fel Iron, Arcanite, and Adamantite, are made with Blacksmithing. Craft each runed rod at its milestone; every rod recipe uses the previous rod, so do not throw the old one away. Higher-tier rods work for lower-level enchants, so you only need to keep your best rod.

Before you start

The TBC Enchanting route below assumes you are buying materials bracket by bracket rather than all at once. Disenchanting low-level items can give skill points from 1 to 60: it turns yellow at 20 and green at 40.

Blood Elves get +10 Enchanting from Arcane Affinity, so recipes stay orange 10 skill points longer and can save materials. Buy the Copper Rod from a Trade Goods, Trade Supply, or Enchanting Supply vendor near your trainer, not from the Auction House.

Trainer locations

Apprentice through Artisan ranks, 1-300, are taught by trainers in the major capital cities, and city guards can mark them on your map. You no longer need to travel to Annora in Uldaman for Artisan Enchanting; any capital trainer can teach it.

• Alliance 1-300 trainers: Lucan Cordell in Stormwind, Gimble Thislefuzz in Ironforge, Taladan in Darnassus, and Nahogg in The Exodar.
• Horde 1-300 trainers: Godan in Orgrimmar, Lavinia Crowe in Undercity, Teg Dawnstrider in Thunder Bluff, and Sedana in Silvermoon City.
• Outland Master trainers, 300-375: Johan Barnes at Honor Hold (/way 53.6 66.0) for Alliance, Felannia at Thrallmar (/way 52.2 36.0) for Horde, Asarnan at Stormspire in Netherstorm, and High Enchanter Bardolan at the Scryer's Library in Shattrath for Scryers.

Leveling 1-110

• 1-2: Craft 1 Runed Copper Rod using 1 Copper Rod, 1 Strange Dust, and 1 Lesser Magic Essence.
• 2-90: Cast Enchant Bracer – Minor Health roughly 100 times using 1 Strange Dust per craft.
• 90-100: Cast Enchant Bracer – Minor Stamina 10 times using 3 Strange Dust per craft.
• 100-101: Craft 1 Runed Silver Rod using 1 Silver Rod, 6 Strange Dust, 3 Greater Magic Essence, and 1 Runed Copper Rod.
• 101-110: Craft 9 Greater Magic Wand using 1 Simple Wood and 1 Greater Magic Essence each.

Leveling 110-200

• 110-135: Cast Enchant Cloak – Minor Agility 25 times using 1 Lesser Astral Essence each; alternatively use Enchant Shield – Minor Stamina from trainers.
• 135-155: Cast Enchant Bracer – Lesser Stamina 20 times using 2 Soul Dust each.
• 155-156: Craft 1 Runed Golden Rod using 1 Golden Rod, 1 Iridescent Pearl, 2 Greater Astral Essence, 2 Soul Dust, and 1 Runed Silver Rod.
• 156-185: Cast Enchant Bracer – Lesser Strength 35 times using 2 Soul Dust per craft, or use trainer enchants such as Enchant Bracer – Lesser Stamina and Enchant Chest – Greater Health.
• 185-200: Cast Enchant Bracer – Strength 15 times using 1 Vision Dust each.

Leveling 200-300

• 200-201: Craft 1 Runed Truesilver Rod using 1 Truesilver Rod, 1 Black Pearl, 2 Greater Mystic Essence, 2 Vision Dust, and 1 Runed Golden Rod.
• 201-220: Cast Enchant Bracer – Strength 25 times using 1 Vision Dust per craft.
• 220-225: Cast Enchant Cloak – Greater Defense 5 times using 3 Vision Dust each.
• 225-230: Cast Enchant Gloves – Agility 5 times using 1 Lesser Nether Essence and 1 Vision Dust each.
• 230-235: Cast Enchant Boots – Stamina 5 times using 5 Vision Dust per craft.
• 235-250: Cast Enchant Chest – Superior Health 18 times using 6 Vision Dust each.
• 250-265: Craft Lesser Mana Oil 17 times with 3 Dream Dust, 2 Purple Lotus, and 1 Crystal Vial each.
• 265-285: Cast Enchant Shield – Greater Stamina 20 times using 10 Dream Dust per craft.
• 285-299: Cast Enchant Cloak – Superior Defense 14 times using 8 Illusion Dust each.
• 299-300: Craft 1 Runed Arcanite Rod using 1 Arcanite Rod, 1 Golden Pearl, 10 Illusion Dust, 4 Greater Eternal Essence, 2 Large Brilliant Shard, and 1 Runed Truesilver Rod.

Leveling 300-375

Tailoring supplies disenchantable cloth gear for Enchanting; the TBC Tailoring Guide covers that pairing. Leveling through dungeons supplies some of the materials for the 300-375 range, since green items from Outland dungeons break down into Arcane Dust and Planar Essences.

• 300-301: Craft 1 Runed Fel Iron Rod using 1 Fel Iron Rod, 4 Greater Eternal Essence, 6 Large Brilliant Shard, and 1 Runed Arcanite Rod.
• 301-317: Cast Enchant Cloak – Superior Defense 25 times using 8 Illusion Dust each.
• 317-320: Cast Enchant Cloak – Major Armor 3 times using 8 Arcane Dust per craft.
• 320-340: Cast Enchant Chest – Major Spirit 25 times using 2 Greater Planar Essence each.
• 340-350: Craft Superior Wizard Oil 15 times using 3 Arcane Dust, 1 Nightmare Vine, and 1 Imbued Vial per craft.
• 350-351: Craft 1 Runed Adamantite Rod using 1 Adamantite Rod, 8 Greater Planar Essence, 8 Large Prismatic Shard, 1 Primal Might, and 1 Runed Fel Iron Rod.
• 351-365: Cast Enchant Gloves – Major Strength 20 times using 12 Arcane Dust and 1 Greater Planar Essence each.
• 365-375: Cast Enchant Ring – Spellpower 12 times using 2 Large Prismatic Shard and 2 Greater Planar Essence per cast.

Ring enchants apply only to the enchanter's own rings, and in Burning Crusade Classic they stop working if you drop Enchanting. Enchant Ring – Spellpower adds up to 12 spell damage and healing.

Several optimal leveling recipes are vendor formulas, some of which are Bind on Pickup and cannot be bought from the Auction House.

• Formula: Enchant Shield – Greater Stamina: Sold by Mythrin'dir in Darnassus and Daniel Bartlett in Undercity for 1 gold 20 silver.
• Formula: Enchant Cloak – Superior Defense: Sold by Lorelae Wintersong in Moonglade for 2 gold.
• Formula: Runed Arcanite Rod: Sold by Lorelae Wintersong in Moonglade for 2 gold 20 silver.
• Formula: Superior Wizard Oil: Sold by Madame Ruby in Shattrath City, Egomis in The Exodar, and Lyna in Silvermoon City for 7 gold.

What Leveling Enchanting Costs on Anniversary Realms

At the November 1, 2026 prices, the 1-365 route costs 2,502g in materials on US TBC Anniversary realms and 2,397g on EU realms. The most expensive steps are 351-365 Enchant Gloves – Major Strength at 570g US and 571g EU, 350-351 Runed Adamantite Rod at 458g US and 508g EU, and 320-340 Enchant Chest – Major Spirit at 288g US and 244g EU. The priced route stops at 365; the 365-375 ring-enchant step is not included in that total.

Costs are for materials bought at the Auction House, or from a vendor where that is cheaper, and earlier steps' crafted rods are used first rather than bought again. Gathering materials yourself costs no gold, and prices differ by realm. Crafts are expected counts from the recipe colours, so they can differ from the step counts in the route above.

Arcane Dust is the largest material line: 306 units cost 560g on US and 586g on EU. Superior Wizard Oil sells for 6g 54s each on an average US realm, with 84 sold a day, and 6g 53s on EU, with 72 sold a day.
