TBC Anniversary‘s Battle for Mount Hyjal doesn’t have a long attunement chain by TBC standards, but it does have an unforgiving one: you can’t shortcut around Serpentshrine Cavern or Tempest Keep. Here’s exactly what stands between your raid and the Hyjal Summit.
In this guide, we cover:
- Mount Hyjal attunement requirements at a glance
- The Vials of Eternity quest chain
- Vashj and Kael’thas vial prerequisites
- Reputation gating with Keepers of Time
- Account-wide attunement in TBC Anniversary
- Scale of the Sands reputation and early rewards

Mount Hyjal Attunement Quick Facts
- Attunement is granted by turning in The Vials of Eternity to Soridormi in the Caverns of Time
- The quest requires two vial items looted from Lady Vashj (Serpentshrine Cavern) and Kael’thas Sunstrider (Tempest Keep)
- There’s a reputation gate with Keepers of Time before Soridormi offers the quest at all
- Attunement is account-wide once completed on one character
- Turning in the vials also grants a reputation head start with the Scale of the Sands, Mount Hyjal’s own raid faction
How to Unlock Mount Hyjal in 4 Steps
Mount Hyjal’s attunement is short on paper, but two of its four steps require end-boss kills from Phase 2 raids. Here’s the full path from Soridormi to Hyjal access.
| Step | Requirement |
| 1. Get The Vials of Eternity | Pick up the quest from Soridormi in the Caverns of Time |
| 2. Kill Lady Vashj | Loot Vashj’s Vial Remnant in Serpentshrine Cavern |
| 3. Kill Kael’thas Sunstrider | Loot Kael’s Vial Remnant in Tempest Keep |
| 4. Return both vial remnants | Turn in The Vials of Eternity and unlock Mount Hyjal |
Want the entire four-step requirement handled instead? Our TBC Anniversary Mount Hyjal Attunement Boost completes The Vials of Eternity, secures both Vashj’s and Kael’thas’s vial remnants, and leaves your character fully attuned for Mount Hyjal.

Step 1: Get The Vials of Eternity from Soridormi
Start by speaking to Soridormi in the Caverns of Time and picking up The Vials of Eternity. This quest is the core requirement for Battle for Mount Hyjal access.
There is a Keepers of Time reputation gate before Soridormi will offer it. Players have reported receiving The Vials of Eternity at Honored on TBC Anniversary realms, although some updated TBC references still list the historical Revered requirement. Check Soridormi once you reach Honored; if the quest still isn’t available, continue pushing toward Revered.
If you’re still working on that reputation requirement, our TBC Anniversary Keepers of Time Boost can help you reach the required standing faster.

Step 2: Kill Lady Vashj for Vashj’s Vial Remnant
With The Vials of Eternity in your quest log, head into Serpentshrine Cavern and defeat Lady Vashj, the raid’s final boss.
Loot Vashj’s Vial Remnant after the kill. Clearing other Serpentshrine Cavern bosses does not replace this requirement — you specifically need Vashj’s vial for the attunement.
This is where the supposedly short Mount Hyjal attunement becomes difficult: if your character hasn’t already finished Phase 2 raid progression, you need a full path to one of TBC’s major end bosses before you can move on.

Step 3: Kill Kael’thas for Kael’s Vial Remnant
The second vial comes from Kael’thas Sunstrider, the final boss of Tempest Keep: The Eye.
Defeat Kael’thas and loot Kael’s Vial Remnant. Just like the Vashj requirement, there is no dungeon, reputation grind, or alternate quest that lets you bypass this kill.
If Vashj or Kael’thas is the part holding your character back, Serpentshrine Cavern Boost and Tempest Keep Boost are available separately for whichever raid requirement you’re missing.
If both Phase 2 raids are still standing between you and Hyjal, the TBC Anniversary All Phase 2 Raids Bundle covers full Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep clears in one package, including the Vashj and Kael’thas kills needed for your vial remnants.
Step 4: Return The Vials of Eternity and Unlock Mount Hyjal
Once you have both Vashj’s Vial Remnant and Kael’s Vial Remnant, return to Soridormi in the Caverns of Time and complete The Vials of Eternity.
That finishes the attunement and unlocks Battle for Mount Hyjal for your account.
If you’d rather have the entire access requirement handled together, our TBC Anniversary Mount Hyjal Attunement Boost covers The Vials of Eternity and the required Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep progression in one service.
Is Mount Hyjal Attunement Account-Wide?

Yes. Once you fully complete the attunement on one character, Battle for Mount Hyjal is unlocked for all characters on that Battle.net account. Individual characters still need to meet the raid’s normal level requirement to enter — the attunement itself doesn’t need repeating.
Your alts won’t need to repeat the attunement, but they still need to reach raid level. Our TBC Anniversary Leveling Boost can take a character up to level 70 so that account-wide Hyjal access actually becomes usable.
What Do You Unlock After Mount Hyjal Attunement?
Turning in The Vials of Eternity does more than open the raid — it also grants 3,000 reputation with the Scale of the Sands, taking a fresh character straight to Friendly.
At Friendly, Arazmodu offers four Band of Eternity paths: Champion for physical DPS, Defender for tanks, Restorer for healers, and Sage for caster DPS. The same ring upgrades again at Honored, Revered, and Exalted.
After that initial 3,000, you keep earning Scale of the Sands reputation from eligible Hyjal trash, bosses, and the Band of Eternity questline itself.
Worth noting: this reputation isn’t just cosmetic standing. It also gates Indormi‘s epic gem cut recipes, so it’s worth tracking even before you’re thinking about loot.
If your goal is the whole Tier 6 tier rather than just unlocking its first raid, our TBC Anniversary All Phase 3 Raids Bundle covers both Mount Hyjal and Black Temple, all 14 bosses, both Phase 3 attunements, five guaranteed items, and the reputation earned along the way.
