The Character gearing process is one of the most essential steps when playing World of Warcraft. If a new patch comes out in the game or you decide to try a new class, you cannot avoid farm gear, gradually changing items and increasing ilvl. Although increasing item level can be part of the endgame content, it does not allow you to experience all the fun.
The Gearing process in WoW can be roughly divided into three parts. They all differ in their complexity. You won’t be able to get the high-level gear right away without outside help because your character will be too weak for random players to invite you to high keys or raids.
The first stage occurs during the leveling process and a short time afterwards. Your main source of items are quests and world quests. If you’re lucky, you can get armor from rares; it usually has a higher item level than you have at that time. This will significantly speed up the transition to the second stage.
The second stage is farming small mythic keys, normal or heroic raids. During this stage, you will be able to obtain average item-level equipment. Most players finish at this point, as this equipment is already capable of helping you complete basic World of Warcraft activities.
The third stage is the most difficult but no less exciting. You can get the best gear with high mythic+ keystones and mythic raid. It’s a lot more than any of the previous steps, but it’s worth the effort. Better equipment will help you have more fun in the game because many activities will no longer be challenging and will be fun.
Increasing the item level directly affects the strength of your character because your stats and your level also increase. Primary stat increases the damage or healing from your perks; increasing stamina will allow you to survive many of the deadly abilities of your opponents. The most important advantage will be access to complex endgame content and trust from random players.
No one can stop you from playing in arenas with PvE equipment, but a couple of important differences should influence your choice. The item level of PvP gear increases in PvP mode, so you will have to complete Mythic+10 keys and Mythic raid to get this level. The second important difference is stats. PvP gear gives you a lot of versatility, which affects the damage you deal with and receive. Your PvE gear may be able to help with damage, but the damage taken will definitely be higher.
