War Within Pre-Patch Launches Before July 30th

Exciting news for all World of Warcraft fans! A new splash screen reveals that the Radiant Echoes pre-patch event will go live on July 30th. This strongly suggests that The War Within pre-patch will be available before that date. While the exact date is still unconfirmed, July 23rd seems likely, giving us roughly one month of pre-patch content before the full launch of The War Within on August 26 (with Early Access starting on August 22).

First Look at Radiant Echoes – The War Within Pre-Patch Event

During the first alpha build of The War Within, we got a glimpse of the pre-patch event for the first expansion of the Worldsoul Saga, Radiant Echoes. This event will have you revisit old zones in Azeroth, facing memories and enemies from the past.

Radiant Echo Event Basics

Every 30 minutes, a Radiant Echo will spawn in specific zones — Dustwallow Marsh, Searing Gorge, or Dragonblight. This ensures that there will always be a Radiant Echo event available during the pre-patch.

First Phase — A Coalesced Memory boss will appear in one of the zones. As you DPS this boss down, NPCs representing past memories of Azeroth will spawn. These can be easily defeated with a small group.

Second Phase — Six events will spawn throughout the zone where the Radiant Echo is occurring. These events reflect past memories from Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, and Northrend. Activities include slaying past enemies, settling battles, and collecting famous items.

Final Boss — Once all six events are completed, a final boss will spawn: Onyxia in Dustwallow Marsh, Ragnaros in Searing Gorge, and the Lich King in Dragonblight. Defeating these bosses will complete the Radiant Echo.

Radiant Echo Rewards

Vendors in each event location offer various items, though they currently lack currency costs. The event currency, Residual Memories, will be used to purchase:

• A Lifeless Stone Ring
• A 32-slot Warband-bound bag
• A 30-slot Warband-bound Reagent bag
• 3 Battle Pets (a whelpling, a ghoul, and a kobold)
• A full set of ilvl 489, 1/8 Champion Gear (equivalent to Normal mode raid gear in Dragonflight Season 4) with an appearance similar to Void-Bound gear.
