WoW Classic Dungeons Guide
Published on: 10 July, 2020 | Last Updated on: 20 February, 2024
For most of us, dungeons are one of the primal features of World of Warcraft, since its onset.
Wow Classic dungeons are made for a party of 5 players (on rare occasions for 10 players), intended for level 10 all up to level 60. Furthermore, since drop rates may be low, you’ll possibly need to go through the same dungeons again and again. Of course, this depends on what you want to get from the dungeons.
So, dungeons are a great routine breaker and will refresh your wow experience, and even more, they are a means of getting useful gear for advancing in the game. Also, you cannot travel through dungeons by yourself, so you’ll need to find other players to fight alongside this journey.
Finally, every dungeon has its own level-requirement and requires a specific class to be completed – Tank, Healer, and DPS.
What’s more, this guide will provide descriptions and advice on how to conquer the dungeons in the most efficient way. In that light, let’s dig deep into the world of dungeons in World of Warcraft.
Choose Your Companions Wisely
Before mentioned, for every dungeon there is a necessity of minimum 5 players, and the most common roles will be:
- One TANK
Tanks have high health, armor, and avoidance, so their role is to absorb the damage and protect the rest of the group. This means that the tank should focus to attract the attention of monsters (mobs) and bosses, towards himself and thus help others avoid damage. Usually, tanks are the strongest characters of the group – the first in the fight, the last out.
- One HEALER
Healer’s job is to heal the rest of the team and resurrect them if the need arises. This role is dynamic and requires agility and fast reactions, coupled with enough calmness to think straight. Next, the players mostly choose the PRIEST when it comes to HEALER role, but we also advise considering:
- Paladin
- Shaman
- Druid
All of these classes have an ability to heal and deal damage at the same time.
- Three DPS
DPS or damage dealers are the ones who actually do the damage. Their role sounds simple – DEAL AS MUCH DAMAGE AS POSSIBLE and try to kill all monsters and bosses. However, skilled DPS will know how to distribute damage without overwhelming the tank while simultaneously attacking the mobs.
Overall, maybe the best thing for beginners is not to choose a TANK or HEALER role, leaving the responsibility to more experienced teammates.
WoW Classic Dungeons – Complete Guide
Now, let’s see what awaits you in the World of Warcraft Classic when it comes to dungeons. Let’s take a look.
Ragefire Chasm
Made for Horde players, this dungeon should definitely be the first one to explore. The recommended level is between 13 and 18, and the lowest level required for entering is 10.
This dungeon is located below Orgrimmar and it consists of fiery cracks in caverns below it. This is considered a Horde-only Dungeon, but there are some extremely difficult ways to get there as an Alliance.
RFC is considered the easiest dungeon and it mostly comes to spank-and-tank with every enemy you encounter. In terms of loot, you can get:
- Robe of Evocation
- Cursed Felblade
- Chanting Blade or into emerald dream!
Wailing Caverns
The story goes – Night Elf druid Naralex discovered a vast system of underground caverns in the center of Northern Barrens. Nonetheless, Naralex wanted to use the caverns to spring life in the Barrens but that required connecting himself to the Emerald Dream which he failed. Now, Wailing Caverns are a wild and dangerous place, a place from a nightmare.
This dungeon isn’t linear and it requires thinking ahead. After all, you should be enjoying the mystical world of caverns. The lowest level required is 10 and we strongly recommend doing this dungeon once you reach at least level 15.
In this dungeon you can loot:
The Deadmines
The Deadmines belong to an Alliance zone, located in Westfall and it is considered Alliance-only dungeon. Currently, the Defias Brotherhood, former masons who were tricked by the ruling elite, turned the mines into their stronghold.
So, you will need to be at least level 10 to enter this dungeon, however, we strongly advise you to go only if you’re level 18 or higher.
The loot you can get:
- Smite’s Mighty Hammer
- Cookie’s Stirring Rod
- Emberstone Staff
- Cruel Barb
- Lavishly Jeweled Ring
- Cookie’s Tenderizer
Shadowfang Keep
Spooky, dark, and medieval are the words that best describe this dungeon. Moreover, mobs that you’ll face will be ghosts, werewolves and you’ll deal with dark magic, curses, and many other types of sorcery.
That’s why the lowest level required for this dungeon is 14. However, it’s a good idea to clean it only once you reach level 22.
The ruler of this dungeon is a mad mage with his scary “pets” that you’ll encounter as you delve deeper into the dungeon.
The important loot includes:
Blackfathom Deeps
Once upon a time, Blackfathom Deeps was a majestic temple of moon-goddess Elune. Unfortunately, the great Sundering ravaged the temple and took it under the Veiled Sea. Now, this is a dark place where murlocs, satyr, naga lurk around.
The Blackfathom Deeps lies in the sequestered Zoram Strand of Ashenvale and rumors say that Aku’mai, an ancient beast from Old Gods, sleeps somewhere within the halls.
Moreover, you can expect a lot of quests, interesting stories and lots of different mobs here. You need to be at least level 15 in order to enter this dungeon. And, in case you want to be sure you can easily clean it, we recommend doing it once you reach level 22.
Important loot in this dungeon:
- Tortoise Armor
- Naga Heartpiercer
- Reef Axe
- Rod of the Sleepwalker
- Strike of the Hydra.
The Stockade
Grim, grey, and turmoil awaits in the Stockade. Furthermore, it is a top-notch prison area, located under the Canal District in Stormwind and Alliance-oriented mainly. Particularly, it was under Warden Thelwater control and now it is run by criminals who took over the control under the prison.
Therefore, thieves, muggers, and a myriad of crooks will be your enemies, with the Bazil Thredd as their leader. Here, you need to be at least level 15 in order to come inside. And, same as for Blackfathom Deeps, we recommend doing it once you get that level 22.
But, don’t expect too much from this place, as it will offer a tedious journey within the prison walls.
Important loot in this dungeon:
- Kam’s Walking Stick
- Iron Knuckles
- Prison Shank
- Defias Renegade Ring
Gnomeregan
With its roots in Dun Morogh there stands the Gnomeregan, a city with the advanced technology of gnomes. Nonetheless, earth troggs invaded the city and absorbed radiation and toxins and became toxic mobs, thirsty, and savage.
This dungeon has some of the most notable loot you can find and is worth revisiting many times. Because of that, this dungeon is not easy at all – therefore, it’s a good idea to enter it only after you reach level 25, even though the minimum level required is 19.
Important loot you can find:
- Hydrocane
- Toxic Revenger
- Electrocutioner Leg
- Manual Crowd Pummeler
- Electromagnetic Gigaflux Reactivator

You’ll fight against quilboar sorceress, Charlga Razorflank, and her minions. Make sure to be prepared for this dungeon as you can only enter it once you reach level 25.
But, in most cases, level 25 is not enough to easily ride through this dungeon, no! You will need to be at least level 30 to put up a good fight.
Important Loot you can get:
- Swinetusk Shank
- Corpsemaker
- Tusken Helm

Suffice to say, this dungeon is an awesome place for adventures with very dynamic encounters. Down the road, you’ll enjoy an interesting storyline that will uncover what had actually happened here.
The minimum level required for this dungeon is 35, but we strongly recommend getting at least level 40.

- Glowing Eye of Mordresh

- Cathedral: 35-45

Nevertheless, the story revolves around acquiring the “Discs of Norgannon” – warehouse of information which is hidden deep within Uldaman’s caves.
Furthermore, you’ll fight against stone golems, troggs and dwarves of Ragnaros, the God of Fire, avoid traps and discover many artifacts, hidden paths, and whatnot. The minimum level required for this dungeon is 30, but, it’s probably a good idea to visit this dungeon once you’re at least level 35.
